An alien, that’s the first thing that came to mind when I saw her interviewed and then performed on Conan. An incredibly unique force who’s so gifted and creative. Love that!
Bjork is so highly regarded, yet painfully underrated. Please watch the videos, tho. she is so deeply involved in her craft and the whole experience is extraordinarily creative
Bjork's "Joga" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. She's a stunningly inventive, varied and talented artist. Absolutely one of the greats. I feel like there is Iceland throughout her songs; if you see its landscape, there is almost a voice you can attribute to it, and it just sounds like Bjork. Wanderlust is a more recent song with an amazing video; the juxtaposition of the video and the insanely complex music behind it leaves you with an insane level of respect for her. She's incredible.
Guys this artist is not a rabbit hole, it's a whole fantasy land of unique musical talent.. 👍and you should really admire her videos, they are beyond artistic!
This track was used in the soundtrack to Suckerpunch one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard combined with the incredible visuals sends shivers down your spine every time.
Now this one was interesting - Bjork can be polarising, in that you either get (gehct) her and love it or it's just not your thing at all. Great to see Brad being so enthusiastic - looking forward to you checking out a lot more of Bjork.
Bjork seems to be one of thise rare artists that manages to get Brad immersed in the sonic experience, rather than getting distracted trying to decipher the lyrics. She is definitely a sonic experience!
Love seeing someone really feeling Björk almost as much as I do. I won't even put her on a list of best/favorite artists/vocalists. To me, she transcends any list.
Wow...I'm impressed with Lex saying it sounded industrial. I knew plenty of people who were in their teens and twenties when industrial was big in the 90's who didn't even know what the genre was. I hadn't heard this song in probably 20 years, but as soon as it started I thought "wow...I don't remember it being so industrial".
After watching Brad with a perplexed look on his face for so many songs it's hilarious and awesome with that big grin!! LOL Yes Bjork is awesome. I saw her once many years ago and it was amazing how such a petite little elf of a woman belt out such a sound.
Oh! David Letterman, bjork singing Pagan Poetry. Bjork has been singing since she was a little girl. I love Anchor Song on Debut. It's Icelandic folk..but sad/dark.
You already know guys, next step is Hyperballad, from the same era/album and quite possibly my favorite (Björk's) song alongside Unison. But as fans know, there's to much great Björk's songs to just name a few.
I want to see Brad's reaction to Joga. It has such a big vocal range and still has some of that Industrial sound that Lex keeps picking up from these early Bjork songs. So many good ones!!
Bjork is so ODD yet cool to listen to. She always sings like she is chanting at you with a curse; she's quite mysterious. Check out her music videos, they are interesting.
A track also from the 90s movie Tank Girl which fits the theme of the movie with a rebel punk girl fighting oppression in the future albeit with an army of human hybrid kangaroos....Ice T plays one of them, not oscar worthy but kind of a goofy comic book which its based on
This song came out during the brief moment when Industrial was more mainstream. Every record label was trying to find their own version of Nine Inch Nails. It gave us newer bands like Stabbing Westward, Gravity Kills, and Drown; and brought established bands like Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assembly, and KMFDM briefly into the mainstream.
I remember when this was on the radio quite a bit on the Alt Rock stations back in the day, I never thought once about interpreting the lyrics - it's more fun that way because when you read them now, they kind of blow your mind away..
It is such a great song and Björk is one of the most interesting musicians/artist anyway with a great voice. Many musicians could be replaced with other great musicians - Björk is so special you can`t replace her equally!
Lex's reaction is hilarious.. usually she is the enthusiastic one and brad is stoic...then she doesn't get Brad's extremely positive response.. that is literally every single time I've shown my girlfriend, wife, etc Bjork.. Him describing how it makes him feel physically (tickles going down, makes him want to explode, etc) just adds to it. These are things I feel listening to her but wouldn't describe it that way around my girl.. cause I know the trouble that can cause... lol... you have to admit.. on some level... a guy reacting to a girl's voice that way is somewhat sexual. But so what.. lex had no problem hyping up Robert plant's vocal orgasm on whole Lotta love. Haha. I love female AND male vocals that can hit folks that way.
The song was actually written to her brother who was sat at home unemployed, doing nothing to find a job, but complaining about the situation he was in.
There’s an even heavier version of this song where Bjork is backed by rock band Skunk Anansie. When she was asked to perform the song on the BBC show Top of the Pops she did it with Skunk Anansie, which was probably a surprise to the show’s producers who were expecting the chart-friendly version.
Hell ya! 👍 Bjork is a cool cat. Very artistic. Should see her videos too. Odd. Cute, petite and strong voiced lady. She has a Scandanavian accent. From Iceland Her music is kind of techno punk and other various styles alternative electronic rock music. This song came on Tank Girl, 90s movie with Ice T, Lori Petty, etc. Lex hair style is Bjorkish too lol. Bjork is quirky type. Shes been doing music since the late '80s back to band Sugarcubes. She would be influenced by Kate Bush and Siouxsee and the Banshees
Braaaad!!! Bjork is my all time favorite! Please please I urge u guys to Watch her Hunter video. I know u guys don't really do videos but it's quite a piece of art. It's just her but a stunning/disturbing visual.
Haha awesome. I’ve never seen Brad smile so much right off the bat. And Lex with the Bjork-ish hair today. Perfect. I would say you guys need to watch her videos because they’re bonkers and amazing. But as much as Brad gets a kick out of her accent… the lyric videos are good too. Haha I’m glad Brad appreciates her quirkiness so much. Hang in their Lex, she’ll grow on you.
Why not try PJ Harvey, she’s from the same era and still going. Probably the best female songwriter over the past 20-30 years . I would start with her Rid Of Me album( probably her most rock one). She has an amazing voice and each of her albums are totally different and there’s 9 so plenty to try. Love from Liverpool.
There’s something about artists like Bjork where her voice is so unique (as well as her personality is too) that it’s captured in the magic of her music The sucker punch remix of this song is one I play in a lot of rock and industrial clubs due to the beat so Lex is spot on with the beat
Total sidebar - she's in a film called Dancer in the Dark (she sings musical style) that will make you ugly cry, one of the finest pieces of art with this talented Icelandic oddity 💕
Bjork is amazing and unique. Hyperballad and Joga are two beautiful tunes you should check out. Her vocals shine, and are both delicate and powerful. You won't be disappointed! I love that Brad loves her! Shes not for everyone. 💞
Yeah, this track has such an industrial sound and so well done. There's a lot of 90's female pop artists that have that metal 'stiff upper lip' vibe and while obviously not being metal, they transfer that same energy. Pink is another I haven't see you all react to yet that scratches that same itch.
Kate Bush was a great influence for Björk.. Independent, gifted young witch who created a sound nobody had listened to at the time.. So young, beautiful wild voice and dance.. all by herself, so avant-garde yet pop. "Wuthering Heights" is a huge hit.. check the clip.. cause she's gorgeous, yes. ) ("Babooshka" is another great song to begin with)
Yup, Bjork and Kate Bush are two of my favorite female artists. Elizabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) is another. As for modern artists I'm starting to put FKA Twigs in that camp of wild eccentric female geniuses. Her Magdalene (2019) album is CLEARLY influenced by Kate Bush. It's an emotional and dense album but give it a try. Don't let a few songs or modern trends put you off because it has a lot of variety and I'm sure you'll find a gateway song somewhere on the album. A proper artist who experiments and does almost all the work (and can dance). Just a free-spirited cool creature.
Great song!!! I remember this music video. It's really good too! Your so amazing together. You compliment eachother so well! Just had to add that. It reminds me of me and my husband.
A brilliant song that I almost forgot and only rediscovered through Zack Synder's "Sucker Punch". I could watch Babydoll's (Emily Browning) intense battle against the 13 foot samurai all day long. The whole soundtrack is great.
If you like how Bjork sings, you'll love to listen to her talk.
Especially her TV disassembly video
@@darksuntoggafhd9947 Liiteraly opened this thread to mention the TV disassembly video, glad that someone beat me to it. :)
@@darksuntoggafhd9947 you shouldn't let poets lie to you - the video is called - Björk talking about her TV

Bjork is the nearest thing we have on Earth to a real Alien! Love her.🙏❤️
An alien, that’s the first thing that came to mind when I saw her interviewed and then performed on Conan. An incredibly unique force who’s so gifted and creative. Love that!
I love how much Brad likes Bjork! Try some more, like "It's Oh So Quiet" or "Possibly Maybe" or "Venus As A Boy"...
I love The Modern Things as well!
Why always those ones ? Minor Bjork songs...
Or the Anchor Song or My Headphones
Oh so quiet is just a novelty song and really doesn't show her true talent
Hyper Ballad is what I'd love a reaction to
Bjork, Alanis Morissette and Dolores O’Riordan. Brad has picked an incredibly strong lineup for his healthy obsessions.
He sure did.
I'll third that.
I'll quadruple that times infinity plus 1
Add a little PJ, Tori, Kate Bush.
Totally. He has serious taste.
been to a Bjork gig and I couldn't believe her voice is even better live.
It's unreal
Brad being obsessed with Bjork's vocals gives me life. She has a massive discography and you have only touched the surface.
i was in brads shoes last summer. now im in these chats defending her, tooth and nail
So happy you're giving Bjork a spin. She is rarely reacted to and the woman is phenomenal!! Pagan Poetry you'd love as well ❤

Top 5 favorites of the month Bjork to Bjork

You should do Hyperballad by Bjork! You’ll love the her lyrics and the way she tells the story in that song. It’s stunning

Yes! The Royal Opera House performance!
Her best song besides Joga and Unison.

There are few people as interesting and creatively exciting as Bjork. The fact that she is Icelandic is the reason she pronounciates words that way.
