I've come to really appreciate the talents of Betty Hutton in the last year, as well as her older sister Marion, who was a vocalist for the Glenn Miller Orchestra from 1938-1942. Marion Hutton also had roles in Abbott and Costello In Society and the Marx Brothers' Love Happy.
@@dennisloveland498 Real artists have always been real artists, the year doesn't matter because what they do transcends technology. The percussive drive of the massed tap-dancers in 1933s 42nd Street gets the blood moving just as much as anything since.
This almost feels like y'all have switched roles again and are imitating each other! Brad's all excited and Lex is the reserved one. Gave me a li'l chuckle!
"Bachelorette" is my favourite Bjork song. She talks at the start so you get to hear her speaking voice which is awesome. She has a lovely speaking voice with her Icelandic accent. "Joga" is really nice too so I recommend checking those two out.
Brad's Björk obsession is racing in leaps and bounds and I am so here for it. Can't wait till he discovers All is Full of Love, Mouth's Cradle, Bachelorette, Wanderlust, The Dull Flame of Desire etc etc
As I've gotten older, more and more often I've found myself holding back tears when listening to Bjork. She's always seemed like the small child who uses all their tricks to get your attention, and then is so pleased and happy when they succeed. She gives everything she possibly can every performance to delight her audience. Knowing the vocal chord issues she went though makes it all the more heroic meaningful as time goes on.
Lex's comment about Björk maintaining her little kids voice is so spot on. This is it. Really. Great reaction to a great song. And even tho I watched the video for like a million times, it blows my mind every time how amazing this is. Spike Jonze did an awesome job on this.
Nice, she's utterly nuts but fantastic with it. Funnily enough my favourite video of hers is not actually a music video. It's an interview with her talking about how she always thought a TV was some magical picture box. Crazy
Bjork is absolutely amazing! The weird vocal range she has is incredible, growls, squeaks, etc. I like the Sugarcubes "Birthday" song. She even did one with nothing but vocal sounds and it sounds like it was recorded under water. Weird for sure but totally enjoyable!
Some of us guys are overwhelmingly drawn to the adorably eccentric; the beautifully quirky; the wonderfully whimsically weird woman who's unavoidably interesting & dangerously cute! One could easily guess that Brad is this type of guy if they have been paying attention to him and the delightfully loony lady to his left who is so obviously the Love of his Life(Lex!)◆♡◆You guys have the best channel out of a lot of great reactors!☆♥︎☆
This song is a cover of a big band jazz song originally sung by Betty Hutton. Björk included it on this album in part as a contrast to the wide variety of electronic music that makes up the rest of the album. The original vocal is pretty wild, too: ua-cam.com/video/0Ojarj6nTM4/v-deo.html Also check out "Murder, He Says" by Betty Hutton and the cover by Tori Amos.
Bjork just has "IT", that rare quality to just push the limits and just go where the music needs to go. She just has a gift unlike any other artist, she's just was born to sing.
As amazing as this is - I have a special memory of my daughter aged 2 or so screaming THIS IS IT along with Bjork back in the day - I still love Big Time Sensuality more.
Wonderful reaction, made me tear up actually because it was so long ago I heard it. And I wasn't even a big fan of Bjork, still it hits me. Hugs from Sweden.
Been waiting soooo long for Brad to get to this one! :) Next one I can't wait to see him react to is Big Time Sensuality... impossible not to crush on Bjork in that film clip. Yeh will be funny seeing Lex watch her man being even more absolutely smitten than he already is... haha!
Fantastic video on this one - I'm so glad you got a chance to react to it! We still get need to get Brad to hear Bachelorette and Joga - songs that really show off Bjork's fantastic vocal capabilities.
Am I the only one who feels this was inspired by Gene Kelly's "Singin' in the Rain"?🌂 As soon as I thought that, the umbrellas popped open!☔☂ Brilliant indeed!
The only thing more surprising than Bjork's sound is that Brad jumped onto this tune and Lex had the most subdued reaction for a change. Did they swap bodies for a day? Lol.
Björk is a brillant musician with a tremendous spectrum in her music. Different styles, different voices, different instruments and sounds, different vibes.... but always Björk
It's an old big band-era song originally sung by Betty Hutton: ua-cam.com/video/0Ojarj6nTM4/v-deo.html Björk did write the music to a musical film, though: Dancer in the Dark. The music is really fascinating. It's made up mostly of industrial machinery.
This inspired the film Dancer in the Dark, which stars Bjork, I highly recommend it, it's a musical, but not like any other musical, it's incredibly unique. If you like Bjork, you will like Dancer in the Dark.
I remember first seeing this video shown an indie movie theater before the movie started when this was brand new! It was so unique at the time because it has sort of a Broadway musical vibe. In the late 90s, musicals were not in like they are now. I loved it the first time I heard her. I am not into a lot of musicals, but there was something different about her.
true talent is hering what everybody else is doing, and then deciding not to do that. Björk is exacctly that, but still she maintains that typical icelandic sound in everything she does
Another chapter in the book of Brad’s love for Björk. And of Lexi’s utter incomprehension.
They'll both be writing in their diarys tonight
And it's really weird that Brad likes her because usually he gets all hung up on the lyrics. And some of her lyrics are just utter nonsense noises
Bjork is pure 110% adorable and Lex is not having any of it. I know that look.
hahahaha!!! No doubt! 😂
This episode is pure gold. "Like musical theater"
Cute and crazy , Brads type
@@jaquestraw1 excellent avatar. Phish tonight 🥳
@@Jeff-Vader-1 She's basically the Icelandic Lex really.
This was a song by Betty Hutton in 1951! Bjork has done a pretty faithful cover.

Bjork is a stray kitten from Mars😂🤣
lol, Brad's never talked so much/so fast after a reaction. He's got it baaaaad..
Björk is a once in a lifetime kind of talent, and an Icelandic princess. She’s so beautiful and talented.
This almost feels like y'all have switched roles again and are imitating each other! Brad's all excited and Lex is the reserved one. Gave me a li'l chuckle!
Bjork is such a treasure of the universe!!
The quiet parts is her not being in a relationship, but gets energetic and loud when she is with someone.....symbolic.
Iw
Brad’s face when she sings is everything.
I loved "Human Behaviour"....next.... "Big Time Sensuality"...please do that one, guys!!
Yup more fire from her, I forgot she had all these songs.
Amen! I wanna see Brad go from infatuated to smitten...
Would love to see them cover The Sugarcubes "Birthday" if they haven't done that one yet. My first exposure to the genius that is Björk.
I was not expecting this kind of throwback song from Bjork.......quite a distinctive artist.
Bjork is an underrated eccentric genius of music and art in general.. She is the humblest of Divas maybe? Bless her beautiful little soul hahaah
One of her best songs. Don´t forget to check out her when she was a member in Suger Cubes
Not really a compliment, as it's a cover. But still, it's Bjork
Play 'Birthday' by The Sugarcubes!
Dont forget her vocals with 808 State! :)

I love Bjork so much. She's a force of nature.
Moved to Canada in 1990 from the UK. My best mate sent me a tape shortly after. One side was Bjork, the other side was Nirvana Nevermind. What a time.
All is Full of Love - Bjork’s vocals are everything!
Bjork is one of a kind

This is the best subgenre of Brad & Lex-reactions!
Bonkers. Wonderful.
I love it when Brad geeks out on Bjork, and Lex look over and is not sure how she feels about Brad crushing. Fun times. More Bjork!
Brad must be in heaven. I remember dancing to this tune all across the UK when it came out
I like when the mailbox starts dancing
I always forget how silly and playful this music video is and it makes me giggle and smile through the whole thing. It's amazing.
You should hear the Sugarcubes, people have forgotten that is where Bjork started from.
My favorite line of all time from Brad. "A stray kitten from Mars." 6:39
I'm here for Brad's appreciation of Bjork's vocal expression.
I'm glad y'all started getting into bjork. She's very interesting.
Bjork is my favorite vocalist ever. One of the best live shows you will ever see as well.

Bjork is pushin' 60. Y'all should jump down the YT rabbit hole. She's a badass from Iceland. Weird, but fantastically weird.
Brilliant Brad you got it.
exactly the way to describe this
Lex should take comfort in the fact that this is a looong time ago now 😂
Def need to see all the Björk videos. They are just as good as the music.
I love Lex's look of complete befuddlement when they react to Bjork. it's priceless! As is the side eye at Brad!!!

Lex be like: “She ain’t all that”, while Brad gushes over Bjork. I love to see Lex’s jealous side…Tee-Hee…🤭
Bkork is: -
A) Super talented, and
B) Mad is a fish!
Once you understand this her music starts to make sense.
Brad is so crushing on Björk.

My mother was a big fan of Betty Hutton who originally recorded this song, but in her 90s she absolutely LOVED watching this video.
I remember calling the radio station asking them if they could play the song. Bjork is a natural cutie!
I am so in love with her and her voice.
It’s def my fav Bjork track…so fun and playful

First time I've seen Brad smile during a song. I think he has a crush, just like me.😁
Brad gets it. I’m a 60 year old who loves classic rock and country but I love Bjork. I think she’s brilliant.
Nailed it Brad! Knew you'd love this.
That was a great song. Her voice is adorable.
Love this song from Bjork...more 40's big-band sound with Bjork's original touch of course. thanks for sharing Brad & Lex :)
I could tell he liked her from the beginning. 😎 I was like that too when I first saw this back in the day.
Birthday from her Sugarcubes days has always been a favorite of mine.
I love this so much, partially because my friends used to do this for karaoke lol
She’s brilliant

It's another three years older, the original version is a waltz from Austria, called "Und Jetzt Ist Es Still" (and now it's quiet).
Bjork is the most wonderefully odd artist. Iceland's most famous resident.

A very good one. Bjork's version is pretty very similar to the original. Very interesting.
Betty is absolutely adorable. The Perrils of Pauline is my favorite movie from her.
That wasn't fully original, it was also a cover, from a 1948 Austrian song.
But it was changed quite a bit, originally it's a waltz.
