One of the most imitated and influential singers of all time. I hear kids singing now in that voice and they have no idea that they're singing in Bjork's style even. It just became a thing all of its own, but there's nobody like her.

But hardly anyone knows who he is! Thanks to social media and UA-cam, now talented people can get known without the need to be "scouted" or "given a shot". But this is new, only in the last 15 years or so. So yeah I agree. Movies often gave people their magic ticket to stardom. A chance encounter etc. We're all the better for it.
My brother was absolutely enamored with her in the 90s and got me into her music and I am forever grateful to him. She is such a beautiful person inside and out and her music is just wonderful. Her voice is unmatched and her quirkiness is about as adorable as it gets ❤
