I wanted to thank you so much for this video. I am a 37 year old single man with two very young grandchildren, I want them to always have something that I made with my own two hands, and your tutorial is literally so easy to follow that I only had to come back to it once. The stitch is so beautiful and I cannot wait to show my mother the completed blanket. She is the one who got me into crocheting. Thank you so much again!

This is such a sweet comment. My great grandma crocheted me two blankets when I was born and had always told me there is love in every stitch. I took them with me when moved across the country and I use them all the time. I hope you enjoy making your crochet projects, and I hope your children love the things you've made them all their days 💗

Oh, so this is the name of my hook.
I found these two 14 inch long hooks at the Thrift shops in my neighborhood back in 2012. Being lefthanded no one wanted to take the time with me and teach me how to crochet. I purchased these hooks and taught myself off of UA-cam. I never knew why these hooks were so long, but after I found you showing us how easy it is I'm going to try it.
Note: I'm older than dirt, can't see much, and very little time left to finish my bucket list. Thank you sweetheart for making this easy on us.

I adore you, Toni! Due to health issues, I am spending a lot more time at home and realized that one of the afghans I’m curled up in is something I made as a child over 50 years ago. That gave me the idea to make a first year of marriage temperature blanket for my niece and her soon to be. I was looking for something I hadn’t done before, and found this pattern. It only took me four tries to get a swatch that’s presentable, and am about to start a scarf to perfect my work by the wedding in July.
Every stitch will be a prayer for their health and happiness. ❤❤

Deep in the wild woods of West Virginia, I stumbled upon this video and grabbed my yarn in trepid wonder. As no one in my neck of the woods had ever heard of this style of crochet, I was forced to create my own needle. I taped a chop stick on the end and I must say, THANK YOU! I wish I could show you a picture of my very first project. It turned out GREAT! I hope new comments bring more views for you! Good fortune!

Wow! This is so cool! I just started Tunisian crochet a few days ago and I’ve already learned 6 stitches and I’m almost done with my second project. I think this is my favorite stitch so far. It’s much easier than it looks I just had to say ‘yarn UNDER’ out loud for a few rows till I got the hang of it!🤣 Thank you so much for your videos! They are the best, you explain everything perfectly and it’s so clear to see what you’re doing. Your nails always look great too! 💕

OMG! I’ve been crocheting for 51 years and this smock stitch, while beautiful, is a PITA! Plus, the cable part of the hook is driving me nuts! I’m going to find my straight hook tomorrow, come hell or high water, and at least, get rid of that annoyance. I’m super tired, which probably has something to do with it, too. Maybe after a good night’s sleep, this will seem less of a pain.😫
On the plus side, I’m loving your videos, you have a very beautiful and soothing voice which makes them even more enjoyable. I’ve subscribed and learned the honeycomb stitch from one of your other videos and it came out wonderfully. I’m not going to let this kick my butt, LOL. I’ll be back mañana!
    Thanks!

Does the cable on your hook turn upwards and make you have to grip really hard it to keep it in the right place so you can do your stitches... Mine does I'm wondering if you can dip it in hot water a change the curl on it or dry it straight because I will darn sure hang my hook up forever more to never have to deal with that again

UA-cam has always been my platform since the mid 2000's. It's a innovative way in comparison to how I originally learned how to crochet back in the mid seventies. I have crocheted off/on for 44 years, I'm back to the very basics because it's been more off than, on as my life veered to other interest. I am back, focusing on blankets of various stitches, until I master the blanket project. Your tutorial of this Tunisian stitch, is blowing me to a wonderful place, of showing other options of textured tapestries. You have offered a nice, simplistic, comprehensive example, in your teachings of this beautiful stitch, thanks a million for sharing.

I have to admit: I kind of stopped crocheting when I was 9 or 10 (more than three decades ago), so I've only learnt what my mum taught me. But I found my old hooks the other day and kind of want to start up again, so I went to UA-cam! (And have found loads of great inspirations for projects as well as tutorials to remind me of what I used to know. )
Tunisian crochet is a new concept to me, but it looks really interesting - and I just did a quick test-swatch of your pattern and it was both easy, pretty and actually rather satisfying to make... So thank you for teaching me! Great little video that does exactly what it says on the tin.

I found you when I went looking for a way to learn alternative Tunisian Crochet stitches. I'm so thankful I found you.
I LOVE your nail colors. I could not understand why all of our nails had to be the same color if we used nail polish. So glad to see so many creative souls rejecting that boring style.
I noticed that the colors really help me focus on hand position and help me pay attention to the steps you are teaching.
I noticed that you start your work differently and do the end stitch differently than I learned how to do them. I came here to learn so I did it your way. I think your methods produce a much nicer edge at the bottom and sides.
I am really excited about learning new crochet methods and stitches. Thank you for providing the "how to" so I can make my "can I" a reality.

This is my first attempt at the Tunisian style. I have to admit I may have been a little intimidated but after watching your video I’m loving it!

Your the very best teacher ever. Thank you 😊 so much for making this video. Without it I'd be lost. Your soothing and calm voice is so reassuring that I can make it. I love 💕 Tunisian crochet just as much as crochet, I appreciate you so much. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

My granddaughter just introduced me to Tunisian crochet over the weekend and I am totally hooked!!! I started looking around the internet for videos of different stitches and found your video. You are the best!!! I have absolutely no problem following your instructions and I LOVE the way you show every little movement you make. You make it so easy to follow! Thank you. I am going to do each different stitch in blocks to make a sampler afghan once I can do the stitches without going back and forth through your videos. This is so much fun!!!

Great video! I like the speed you narrate/crochet since I don't have to constantly pause/rewind to figure out what is going on

Thanks for this tutorial!! I also watched your Tunisian crochet basics video. Just tried the smock stitch out and it's working out beautifully! I've never tried Tunisian crochet before, but saw a TikTok using this stitch and I fell in love! So glad I found your super helpful video!! ♥️🧶

Thank you so much for this video, Toni. I am using a light colored worsted weight yarn to practice while watching and it is coming together. There’s nothing like muscle memory. My Olivia Shawl is waiting patiently.

Thank you, thank you for this video. 🥰 I tried to follow the smock stitch videos by another crocheter who didn't explain anything. I did my forward pass three times, not understanding how she ended up with twice as many stitches as I had!! You explained it all so well! 💖 💖 Now I get it.

Decided to use this pattern to make a baby blanket with color changing yarn! Just now realizing (one skein in) that I did it wrong. 🤣 too far now to start over and it looks great, but not the same! Glad that even though I did something wrong, it still will turn out okay!
