The Day My Baby Died (Rusty Buchanan) - Rhinestone
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 сер 2024
- This is probably the funniest scene of the underappreciated Sylvester Stallone/Dolly Parton comedy Rhinestone.
Performed by Russell Buchanan (credited as Rusty Buchanan).
Lyrics, as requested:
Well I left my home when I was 22,
But I never did find my time or place,
It's just the kind of thing a man has to do,
With a scar on his soul, like the one on his face,
And the emptiness inside,
From the day my baby died
It was a Sunday June morning and the sun broke out,
I had a smile on my face and they knew just why,
Didn't hear no warning, didn't fear no storm,
I knew for sure on that very morn,
That girl was gonna be my bride,
It was the day my baby died
In her long white gown and her bridal bouquet,
How I begged her not to plow the fields that day,
Oh her beauty never stops, she felt a duty to her crops,
She jumped in the old John Deere,
And she drove away, hey, heyyyyy
She said baby don't you worry, this'll only take a minute,
But the wheels caught her gown and dragged her down in it,
Imagine my surprise when I looked her in the eyes,
Oh my God, I couldn't believe it,
The tractor cut her down to size
Oh how the hands of fate, they cracked her,
'neath the wheels of her daddy's tractor,
There was blood on the corn and brains on the hay,
(unintelligible)
I ran as fast as I could but all I found,
Was chunks of my sweetie smeared all around,
Big hunks of my darlin' on the cold, cold ground,
Oh, yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!
They way that dude yelled out laughing 2:38 when he said "ay this really happened to my Loretta" gets me EVERYTIME!!!! 😂😂😭😭
He was very rude though.
This will always be the greatest comedy of the 80’s!! Definitely a hatchet murderer...
This movie is SO underrated!!! You could never imagine Stallone could be so darn funny!!!!!
I'll never forget the first time I watched this, I honestly thought I was going to die laughing.
Me too, still funny every time I see it and need a laugh
This is one of the finest moments in cinema history and also one of the best songs......IN EVER! Thanks for posting!
Duty?? Duty to her crops? This movie was hilarious! Lol
That is by far one of the funniest scenes ever filmed!
Whenever I drive through Loretta, TN
I always call my sister and say
That really happened to my Loretta
🤣
So fantastic. I’m proud to say I actually had an email conversation with Rusty Buchanan in the early days of IMDb.com. I mentioned he was one of the most memorable in this movie and he was such a gentleman to strike up conversation with me and said how he had such a wonderful experience on this film. What a guy!
BEST COUNTRY SONG EVER!!!!!
This is a song I wrote!!! For my baby.. lmao
A hilarious scene from an underrated 80s comedy. Very funny movie
Joseph Cali awesome movie, that seemed to be one of them movies that only my mom, 2 brothers, and I liked lol. 34 years later, we laugh anytime one of us mention that movie. Especially the scene when Nick says to Luke "hey, you cool it puke", and the Drinking Stine scene, and at the end when he says his hair is a home for wayward spiders to a heckler.... Movie is a classic
I still own the VHS, for this scene. hehe
I don't care what anyone says.... This was a fuckin' funny ass movie !!! I loved it !!
Ill too will never forget when i saw this in theaters, it was a double feature night i first watched this and was laughing so long and hard that the manager of the theater told me to stop laughing or i was going to have to leave. My face has never hurt so bad from laughing, it was so ridiculous. The other movie was ghostbusters...nuf said.
Best part of the movie, hands down. I'd have rather watched a movie about THIS dude.
But the guy probably blew his brains out considering it actually happened, and he had to hear the audience roaring with laughter.
Oh man!! Thank you for uploading this!! I've looked for this for years but I couldn't find it because I couldn't remember what movie it was from!! This was the best part of this movie!!
This really happened to my Loretta
LOL he started off so well, he actually has a pretty good voice for country
***** Yeah I know I love that film
Exactly! If the musicianship isn't so good, the joke isn't as funny. Same deal with stuff like Tenacious D and Spinal Tap, sort of. Actually being able to play and sing the stuff well really sells it.
Pure lyrical genius 🤣🤣🤣

(slowly, with feeling)
Oh, how the hands of fate they cracked her
'Neath the wheels of her daddy's tractor
There was blood on the corn, and brains on the hay (hey, hey)
I ran as fast as I could, but all I found
Was chunks of my sweety smeared all around
Big hunks of my darlin' on the cold, cold ground
Oh....Yeah!
You're doing God's work.
Great!
Great Job, you got my like but you should add " Hey this really happened to my Loretta " At the end
Every teenage goth could take a few lessons from this man! LOL!
Probably the funniest scene in film history. Ron Liebman's fist pump at 0:56. Duty, to her crops? There was blood on the corn and brains on the hay !! God bless Bob Clark.
Rusty, you kick ass.
when I listen to Colter Walls "Kate mccannon" I can't help but think of this , I know it's wrong because Colter is great , but I can't help it .This movie is real funny Dolly sing beautifully as always .
Very underrated movie!
Stallone passed on Romancing the Stone to make this movie. I am glad he did. This movie kills me, too funny!
Beautiful funny song 😂
Country music in 80s New York!
hahahahaha. classic! forgot how damn funny this part was. please post the whole movie. please. I love it!
Love this movie!!
classic flick..good stuff
He was the singing voice of Jacob in Joseph: King of Dreams
The part you missed:
"Oh, how the hands of fate they cracked her
'Neath the wheels of her daddy's tractor
There was blood on the corn, and brains on the hay (hey, hey)
I ran as fast as I could, but all I found
Was chunks of my sweety smeared all around
Big hunks of my darlin' on the cold, cold ground
Oh....Yeah! "
The guy who sang this music posted the full lyrics on the IMDB page of this movie. (trying to post the link gives an error)
I'll try to add it to the description in a few days. It's mostly done, but there's one part I can't quite decipher due to the crowd noise.
Love the part about duty to her crops!
Rain makes the corn corn makes the whiskey
No, although he sure does look a lot like him. That's a musician named Rusty Buchanan, who was also briefly a member of the band Player (they did "Baby Come Back", although that was before Buchanan joined the band, I think).
CMA would've gave him the "Best New Country Artist"...
That line always gets me, Fur muh baybay 🤣
This makes me think of Billy Connolly's "tell Laura I love her" lol
Because it's a movie. That's how that crowd could laugh at such grim lyrics.
Looks and sounds like Ghostman!
My favorite part is Dolly made sure in the credits to disclaim that she had nothing to do with the writing of this song! Makes it that more hilarious! 😆😂😆
The Tractor Cut Her Down To Size 😅
Saw this movie 30 years ago, still a fan. Corny, silly yes I know.
How fucking FINE was dolly back in the day?!
@0:05 The past was doing its best-leave it alone!
Here it is boys
Yes he said look Lovavy
Bless it... He wasn't bad
do you know what this needs, it needs a music video
This role was originally going to be played by wrestling legend Terry Funk , but he got fired after pulling some shenanigans with the director
Hey this really happened to my Loretta
Jacob from Joseph's Movie 2000
The don't write songs like this anymore.
the people first think the song is good, and it's really not bad
Poor Loretta
Oh, how the hands of fate they cracked her
'Neath the wheels of her daddy's tractor
There was blood on the corn, and brains on the hay (hey, hey)
I ran as fast as I could, but all I found
Was chunks of my sweety smeared all around
Big hunks of my darlin' on the cold, cold ground
Oh....Yeah!
Dolly Parton's figure looks amazing at 1:52
This song is great. I love story themed country songs. The movie is terrible but I'm a big fan of this song.
Quiero verlo en castellano. Megusta. Mucho mease retroceder. Al pasado
This movie kills me. Notice how Stallone always seems to be straining to keep his eye brows high. This is playing on comcast -on demand now in the free movie section. Great movie. Check out my channel.
💜💙♥️
The most F’d up awesome song there ever was!
fuckingly great song
True story lorettie
Liebman is genius in this. BTW, it’s the only Stallone movie I can stand ....
What? Your crazy
And you’re ignorant regarding your usage of “your”.
Movie gets a bad rap - even from Stallone himself - but its a lot of fun. This song is hysterical. I still have the soundtrack album somewhere - cost me a dollar in a thrift store.
The best part for me is knowing Dolly Parton wrote this.
No sir, she did not. The Day My Baby Died Lyrics by Phil Alden Robinson and Bob Clark Music by Mike Post Performed by Russell Buchanan (as Rusty Buchanan)
i ran as fast as i could, but all that i found. thats the next lyrics :)
How could that crowd laugh at such grim lyrics?
A singing hillbilly dressed as a cowboy, yokel-chicks jumping unto tractors, wearing bridal gowns and being turned to mince... how could they not?!
No, it is Russell Buchanan. However in this movie he went by the name Rusty Buchanan.
Freddys great
Why u don't ware capes
😍😀
can you set the movie in german ?????thx
Posted, although I gave up on the line I couldn't figure out. If anyone can tell what he's saying, please share (it's the line right after "brains on the hay").
JustSayNo420 "Ran fast as I coud, but all I found...."
I m easy in English - please can you write me the text of this song ??? A don´t find it in Internet ... :-(((
There was blood on the corn brains on the hay.
Brains on the hay
Crops first
In her long white gown and her bridal bouquet
How I begged her not to plow the field that day
Though her beauty never stops, she felt a duty to her crops
She jumped in the old John Deere, and she drove away
She said,"Baby, don't ya worry, this'll only take a minute"
But the wheel caught her gown and dragged her down in it
Imagine my surprise when I looked her in the eyes
Oh, my God, I couldn't believe it -- the tractor cut her down a size
the part right before this where he has the confrontation with the audience member is hilarious. here it is: ua-cam.com/video/_mhF4MOvQoI/v-deo.html
Corey Coker, quit watching this!!!!
maybe not...I am kinda drunk lol
as awesome as this is his attention getter to the crowd is is in dire need to complete such a great act.'shut up
I have no clue as to how could a song of sorrow be funny. He was describing the feelings he had losing his fiancee to a fatal accident involving a tractor. I must admit the grim lyrics are plenty graphic.
Ok I did see this movie as a kid...not that I wanted too...but is that Tommy Lee Jones??
No it's not Tommy Lee Jones. . It's Russel "Rusty" Buchanan.... Reminds me of him though.
It’s not really funny why are ppl laughing at this tragedy
They're laughing because it's an implausable premise, it sounds goofy, and then he says it really happened, which sounds even crazier.
The only good scene in the movie.
Good guitar, good singing, but bad language.
Why r They Laughing, Is This Suppose To Be Funny Or Sad
***** lol
They're laughing at him.
The album version is trash, It has canned laughter in shit places.
💩
C'est dégueulasse
