I hardly knew this artits except by name & sullied wartime reputation. What i like: the grand sweep of ideas, but including lots of detail & giving due weight to dramatic moments. The music flows, brushing off many awkward details of piano writing, and there are weaknesses, especially in 3d mvt,(age may have been a factor...?),but the work takes on a huge dimension.Very glad i heard it, thank you!
This woman has personality and musical presence . The slow movement too is incredible and Im a black guy i should be burning her records ! What kept her from being as famous as that hungarian woman or Hess .Musta been bad judgement or maybe the most powerful agents were Jewish. Why wasn't she the headliner not the replacement for Serkin. I need to go and relisten to Arrau and Serkin .She weaves a spell so strong in the slow movement Im truly touched in music I ve heard so many times I shrink from listening to op.57 unless its a new artist .

Richter revered her. And being Richter, he wasn’t afraid to say so.

A contradictive spirit I found in her way....
