Waking up early with all the boys and eating breakfast burritos while getting to play Darktide ranks pretty high on good ways to start your weekend. Pretty excited for the full release now and I’m glad I get to share this video with you guys!
Well, the theme of Darktide is that you are dregs, once good soldiers, but now are too dirty to be kept around, but still experienced enough to be sent on suicide missions. No wonder Zealot starts developing Khorne tendencies, and some psyker voicelines imply that his inner demons are actual daemons. Wonder what's the deal with vet and Ogryn.

I'd honestly get the game just for that. I mean the fact the combat and core mechanics look great are just the icing on the cake already at this point.
I love that your characters backstory is basically "you were an normal Imperial citizen, but you bruised a more influencial persons ego so now you are even more expendable than before... Have fun :)"
One of my favorite dialogues that I've heard only once so far is between Psyker and Zealot, Psyker: "People keep telling me I'm creepy. You don't think I'm creepy, do you?" Zealot: "I think thou art best tolerated at a distance."
"Why is my melee weapon a shovel?" The Death corp of Krieg wished to enlighten the prisoners with their faith in the emperor, which comes in the form of many, many shovels. Also suicidal ideation.
unfortunately it was simply out of budget to send over Basilisk and other various Siege Artillery Equipment towards said prisoners. We, the Death Korp, truly apologize but you have to do without them.

Fun fact Nurgle inflicted at least 2 of his plagues upon Raptor, Slaanesh inflicted a Sleep Paralysis Daemon, Khorne just had a bunch of Khorne Berserkers partying outside his window, and Tzeentch just laughed watching the whole predicament but our ever so mighty RubixRaptor survived!
Turns out that the Anomaly Tails is actually just another chaos god, thats right, the Ignis ops are so chaotic that it can create chaos gods from within its ranks...
And then there's the Ogryn that throws a box of grenades, without pulling the pins meaning they don't explode. The impact of the box hitting it's target is what does the damage.
The Psyker undoubtedly breaks the 4th wall, and I am convinced the "beloved" he's talking about is the player, the same way he was angry that the subtitles were "wrong". :D

I had a moment of utter, divine terror, when you mentioned the Malus Codicium and then pulled up an image of a notepad I PHSYCIALLY OWN. My attempts to separate my mind from the warp grow more feeble and inconsequential with each day that passes.
Send him to the Golden Throne! He gets to visit Terra, he makes himself useful before he makes himself dangerous, and the Emperor gets 1/1000th of his daily recommended dose of soul calories.
i actually really love all the random dialouge bewteen characters it really gives you the feeling these guys are from across the imperium and every class who just fell to the grimdark SHITTE LUCK of there universe.
You can honestly hear those two Guardsmen when they were staring at the Ogryn like 'Which one of us is he going to go after first?' 'Probably me, I'm closer, just be ready to duck when that big lug goes berserk in here.'
I am SO glad people are enjoying that 4th wall break with the Psyker. I lost it when I encountered that first time in the beta. The commentary between the various class and voice archetypes adds fun detail to the game.

Another excellent video! As for the shovel melee weapon, it was a weapon of choice during WW1. I heard one account say that while knives could get stuck into the bones of the recently deceased, shovels just cleaved through the bones, making it ideal in the brutal combat of the trenches, but even better when slaying abominations from beyond!

Only in 40k would there be flying bogeys and AA guns... IN AN UNDERHIVE! We are going who knows how deep below grounds, better get Anti air you know UNDERGROUND for just how massive it is.
I thoroughly love this game. It all comes together so well between the small silly details like the ogryn grenade just being a box of grenades he yeets and the shovel actually going bonk, and the absolute terror of the Plague ogryn charging you down, I don't think I could ask for a better 40k game
I had also gotten the nurgle plague right before the Darktide beta came out, and forced myself to play it with the couple friends that got in; and despite the horrible sickness, the game was great.
My Psyker’s name was Bizario and he lived alone in the woods for 37 years before he was found and abducted by the inquisition. I picked the unhinged German accent for him… safe to say I’m remaking him when the game released
