Thanks. Your video was the only one among many that showed just how much colors “pop” with Chihiros lights. I bought the WRGB2 in part because of this video.
Love the lights. Would really love one of their lights for my nano tank as the sunrise and sunset feature is great. Can’t wait to see your scape completed 👍🏼
Ryo your contest setup is looking really nice. thank you for showing the lights, so neat!. and the words that you were looking for are they; dim up and down or they ramp up and down in intensity to do a sunrise and sunset effect. indeed is much better for the fish. cheers!
Thank you so much, I needed help with the hanging wires and this video is perfect 👍 Also when on the app, the slide bar at the very bottom is for Kelvin.
Great video and I wanted those lights since the vivid came out! Would need a sponsor though chihiros haha! Can’t wait to see how you scape that gorgeous tank!
i have 4 units. I would not put the adapter inside the cabinet as it gets hot and reduce the lifespan. Also make a "U" configuration of the power input wire to the adaptor to prevent water condesation from running along the power cable into the adpator and shorting it. Pro: Yes, the colors are like HD. Individual LED RGB can be controlled. Cons: The bluetooth controller inside does not last long because of the heat (about 1.5 years). Also, the auto timer deviates about 1 minute/month. If you have a power trip in the house, the maximum time your timer setting remain in memory is about 2 hours. After that, you might see the lights come on at odd hours unless you reset it in the app
Ryo - what a fantastic video....you really see a difference in the colours. Which light do you think looks more natural. My only concern is (same with RGB twinstar) is that the colurs may not actually be true with RGB lights even though they look good. For instance, natural white light or a light with a high CRI (closer to 100) gives of a more natural white light and hence, the colours of the fish/plants maybe more true with the aquasky vs RGB lights? I don't know, just a thought. You do see a significant difference with the light for sure, the amano's look so different between the two lights. Great job on this video Ryo. Much appreciated
I know we are supposed to be hype about the light here but I just got way too excited about the buried shrimp at 10:16! I've been struggling to breed my own shrimp lately so I hope to get a glimpse at some shrimplets in this beautiful tank in future videos!
Hello, if you can answer to me, i have an tank 100x50x50 and i allready have 2x Chihiros WRGB 2 Slim on him and all plants work very well, but i want to tray an VIVID 2 10TH Anniversary Edition, what do you think?
Hey man, cool review. Can you confirm that the sunrise starts from 0 brightness and how many brightness levels it has? Are the steps noticeable? Thanks
It’s very smooth. You can’t really see the difference in steps. Almost like a natural sunrise. Maybe in the future I will do a time laps to show the sunrise and sunset
fantastic movie I am very impressed! Can setting any amount of a single RGB color in a Chihiros lamp affect better or worse photosynthesis in plants? What is the optimal setting for all the buffs to 100% can I set: R80% G60% B72% when my aquarium setting looks beautiful - won't my plants suffer with this setting? Thank you and best regards
hi , thanks for this video , i saw that in your electric installation you did not use the earth connection . is it safe to use as you did ? i wish it is since i m planning to set up to ADA RGB without using this earth connection since i don t have in my room . thanks for your back experience
I have the wrgb2 and the % in the app for red, green, blue is to configure color profile not how bright the leds are, say you want a red hue you put red to 95, and blue and green lower. Below that you have the power outlet so if you don't want 100% brightness that is wjere you adjust it
Hello Ryo Watanabe, very nice video, thank you very much. I have one question. Would the Chihiros vivid2 also be sufficient for a 90s tank? or does it cast too much shadow? or would it be too little power for a 90 layout? or rather then the ONF Flat one? so many questions lol. thank you and have a nice day
Can do a email them at hi@specialisedaquatics.sg and they can help you customised to your tank size. Mine was customised to the way I wanted and sent to Japan.
Hello, I have a basin measuring 60 * 40 * 40 cm, what are the color settings for it? I will plant Rotala rotundifolia sp 'Green', Rotala rotundifolia 'H'ra and Elocaris acicularis mini, thank you.
Fans in LED lights seem like a good idea to prolong the life of the diodes, but they have a downside in producing noise (which varies from unit to unit if we can believe the comments). And the fans themselves may fail at some point. With a light as powerful as the Chihiros RGB Vivid II maybe there was no option to cool them by convection.
Hi, on my Chihiros ViVid 2 bought in January this year fan is pretty loud. Well louder than yours. I bought another one (arrived from CN this month (November)) but haven't tested yet.
@@karelyou2 Hi, it is audible, so do not expect you will not notice it. I would compare it to my Oase Biomaster 600 Thermo. :D Making the video will not "show" the situation because of the microphone in the smartphone will not pick it up as the ear. But the light of this lamp is awesome.
I have had problems with fan noise from my lights and solved them by buying good quality fluid bearing fans - mine was from Arctic Cooling PST CO - I did undervolt them slightly and now they are barely audible. We need to check if Chihiros uses voltage or PWM to control the fans. This mod should not be that difficult.
That's the power supply unit that changes from AC power supply (usually 220V or 110V depending on country standard) and converts it to DC power and regulates the DC voltage needed by the LED in your lights.
@@scottibass its probably because before the use of LED lights, it was flourescent lights that was commonly used for aquarium lighting. All flourescent lights have ballasts and maybe that term was carried over even for LED lighting.

Looking very good Ryo. Can’t wait till it’s scaped and all settled in.

My Chihiros RGB Vivid 2 showed up in the mail a few days ago as well, I'll be setting it up this weekend, can't wait
I have been using Chihiros RGB VIVID II for almost a year. All I can say is "AWESOME!". Really a game changing with this light. :)

Those embers are brightly red under the chihiros 😍.
Wow such a young talented kid! Good job!
Great video! Excited for an update video on the tank when it's set up!
Coming along nicely Ryo, we are impatiently waiting for the scape and plants plants plants 🌱

I’ve watched like almost every video on UA-cam on the VIVID it’s really amazing. Maybe one day I’ll get one. But atm I’m using T5s which are good too.
Can't wait to see the hardscape!

Any suggestions on how many hours or settings to control Algae growth?

That's pretty rare to happen in a aquarium. Amano shrimps breeds in brackish water. Hopefully she will lay the eggs.
They will hatch, but the zoes will not survive, as the comment earlier, the zoes need brackish water to survive until their first molt.

can we use it for salt tank? I think it is possible.

Hey Ryo, nice work with the videos. Question: How do the Chihiros Vivid 2 compare to the Twinstar 1200SP? I'm waiting on my ADA 120p and need lights.
I haven’t tried the twinstar yet. I think Chihiros is a much better deal because it’s so adjustable. Really glad I decided to use this instead

Echotech marine lights have fans. These LED's can produce lots of heat these days!
Pretty much all saltwater lights have fans in them to prevent overheating 😁

What is the gap needed between the light and the tank?
Personal preference. I keep mine 25-30cm above the water surface level

But the vivid 2 is flat out sexy looking.
Many many brands have fans in their lights, but mostly for salt water aquariums.

Yeah probably. I’m no expert and didn’t really read the instructions while setting it up. Sorry about that 😅
