For some reason you are the only artist on youtube who I can watch and listen to without either being irritated, bored or rolling my eyes haha ♡ thanks for keepin it real. You are such a big inspiration to me C: Any time I am feeling down on myself, your videos always get me going again ♡
I just came across your channel randomly and always thought i could never draw and thought fluff it i will give it a go and wow i drew a bird lol. Genuinely from a person that thought i could never draw you have blown my mind it is possible, imagination is a beautiful thing
So useful and always appreciate your philosophical perspective, “if you know yourself, you will know how to paint” it’s great advice for planners vs spontaneous personalities and finding a style for yourself
I am so happy to learn from a generous artist, and a virtuoso, like you...I am often frustrated at the 'secret club' attitude I face as a mostly unrecognized artist. You are so open and truly interested in your students. Thank you.☺
I came across your channel by chance and was lucky enough to find exactly what I wanted in an art teacher. Thank you so much for this video. Much appreciated.
I really like the way you break your lessons down - it is a very different approach to teaching ( thinking about the well being of the student and making their expectations realistic) - Also the music is so relaxing - Big Like👍🏻 Really enjoyed the content - Great work thanks for sharing 🎨 👍🏻 👩🏻🎨
I'm half and half with ala prima and traditional. I alla prima the heck outta my backgrounds or in-motion subjects with the liquid white underneath, then sometimes define them with details later once it dries. Then I get to the rest of the painting traditional style.
in conclusion I still more into water-based mediums. I don't know how do you achieve to be so interesting, informative and inspiring even if you talk of a medium I don't like. very good videos
What is that Black pipe you use to keep your hand steady? I would like to make one .. Please can you give me the dimensions and what pipe to use etc? Thank you for such a lovely lesson in painting! You are so good!!
I started years ago with acrylic medium and only recently graduated to oils. I am use to painting more quickly because of acrylics drying time, yet I love details and being precise. Do you think alla prima with oils is for me? Maybe I will give it a go. Thanks you so much as I always learn something.
I think of wet on wet as a series of precarious successes. Scrape away start again parts. Trying it will surely teach you well like you said and i think its an advantage you’re used to painting quickly. If you use thicker application of paint the option to rework the area goes way down. I liked a presentation that actually counted the number of brush strokes made in order to demonstrate alla prima.
I love painting alla prima, because I'm impatient to do multiple layers and wait days to finish a painting, but what bothers me is when I put one color and then I put other one on it they "merge" while I wanted to keep the second color as it was. I can see that in your painting that didn't happen. How can I avoid merging colors and make them muddy, and just put colors one on another without loosing the color on the top? I make sure the top one should be thicker, but that still happens that color merges.
Bonjour Florent. Est-ce que je peux mettre sur ma liste pour le père noël votre cours sur la couleur en version française ou est-ce que ça ne sera pas prêt à temps ? J'espère que oui 😉 Merci pour tous vos conseils.

I think he might say the drying in between is better for love of detail

I think you should try it. I always encourage my students to try new mediums and explore.
