Thanks Chelsea. I've got a personal reminder on my calendar: Watch more Chelsea Lang, because you are da bomb! I was actually sitting here painting a portrait of my son in law as I watched you and as you talked about colors and why this and why that, I found myself loosening up, spreading that color from the background to the face, etc. etc. I need so much help, and a good example is a big deal. Thanks Chelsea.
Every once in a while I try to get in a couple of gesture portraits, which I learned from Jeff Watts. You have taken the technique to a whole different, and quite pleasing, level!!! Beautiful work...
I really enjoyed watching the "fast and loose" alla prima portrait. It is amazing how much paint can suggest what we want to see without having to definite it completely realistically!
I love your drawing of all kinds And your expectations of the beautiful and an international and respected painter And I like your hair to be golden 👏👏👏 To be beautiful 💃💃💃💃
I’m loving your videos…broke my wrist and put down my paints yet you inspire me, so yay! Do you know Mad Charcoal? Different materials but kindred philosophies.
I was hoping you'd make a video like this! I've been curious about Alla Prima and impressionistic processes as I normally paint much more realistically and in a lot of layers. Fantastic work and fantastic teaching!
Very impressive! I'm just starting.......on the most basic level, I even find it hard to hold the damn brush properly!.........can't stop myself holding it like a pen and squinting close. I love this style of painting, I'll keep trying...thanks!.
I am really trying to get out of my head and loosen up. I really appreciated all of the tips as well as watching you paint, how you make the marks, how you negotiate darks and lights, how you suggest things like fingers, and how you hold your brush. Thank you!
Hi Chelsea! Your work is very... fresh and painterly and your paint flow is smooth as if you were using watercolor! Are you using any media to achieve that, like turps or liquin?
I found this a good lesson in knowing when to stop. Was I the only one, maybe it was the time lapse, but it seemed to be doing the opposite of the dialogue. Still it was a nice painterly portrait.
Hi I have noticed with your paintings that you could stop a number of times throughout the process of developing a finished painting and still of ended up with a different but acceptable work of art! My question is how do you know when the painting is completed!
Very nice. But you don't tell anything about one of the most important things: the brushes and the colors you use. I wonder how many artists show how nicely they paint but don't mention that. Please, for all of us who want to improve on our painting, make us a favor and tell us.
Hi Chelsea, love your work and appreciate all you do for us artists! I was wondering if you offer a mentorship or any type of help with the business side of being a professional artist? Thanks so much!
Hi Wendi, I do offer mentorship! For the artists I mentor, once they have a body of work I do help them to get their businesses off the ground, however, my main focus is developing the consistent body of work that's a prerequisite to that. I'd love to hear from you. If you haven't already checked out my masterclass (www.allaprimabootcamp.com/thank-you-simple1633565281189) that gives you a good idea of what I focus on with my mentorships, and if it sounds like a fit you can submit an application to work together here: www.allaprimabootcamp.com/survey-page1633565281620. I'm excited to hear from you!

I'm from Japan and I love the way you do your paintings.
BeautifuI! I can see you using this loose technique on a plaster textured canvas or board. Making it really loose. Thankyou on showing your technique.

How do I find your links that you add?
Your hair is 💥
I found this a good lesson in knowing when to stop. Was I the only one, maybe it was the time lapse, but it seemed to be doing the opposite of the dialogue. Still it was a nice painterly portrait.
What program do you use to collect reference photos.
thank you
Hi I have noticed with your paintings that you could stop a number of times throughout the process of developing a finished painting and still of ended up with a different but acceptable work of art! My question is how do you know when the painting is completed!
What are you using to glaze?
Amazing! Do you premix any colours?

The palette is mentioned and linked in the description. The brushes are in the video, though the more important thing is how you use them.
Nice

Painting in this style is much more difficult to do well, than it is to paint in a more realistic style . For me it is .
Gibt es die Möglichkeit eine Übersetzung darunter zu setzen, ich würde gern mehr von dir lernen, versteh es nur nicht, schade
How can I paint like u
❤❤❤❤❤
Great :) ♡

Acá le llamamos el estilo sin terminar, estilo inconcluso
I am a beginner

My comment are why a painter suppress the amount of color to paint anything, I personally have the freedom of 20 different colors if I needed
I can't concentrate
