This was one of the most heart warming discussions I've ever had in my Carnivore experience :)
Thanks for joining me and sharing your story, Brett!
@@NutritionwithJudy Judy I can't stop earing fast food. I have the same issues from depression, anger as you and Brett but I can't for the life me give up junk food.....
I am back watching this video again a few months later. This is truly one of the most powerful discussions I have heard on mental health and the carnivore diet. Thank you thank you thank you again for sharing your journey. ❤️
@@harrycrotch9574 Hi! Have you managed to find a way to get lowcarb and highfat, let alone carnivore? Please try again and again until you make it. I always think such a change as a flock of birds gathering for their autumnly travel to warmer areas. First one or the other flies up, gets diwn again. Each time they do it it's more birds, until, at one point, the collective energy has built up enough for the whole flock to lift into the air and fly towards the warm South.
What a great interview. I came out of clinical depression too after being carnivore for 3 months. Now a year later and feel great with no more depression or medications. I’m 72.
So great!! How long did it take until depression lifted on carnivore? Did your symptoms first get worse when starting carnivore?
@@sonnigundheiter yes, in a sense. Coming off medication. Also in the group I began this with, the Dr talked about emotionally working through your feeling. Not suppressing. That’s what I did and it took several month and many tears. It’s a journey. I don’t all the hurt, anger, sadness and resentment. Best wishes to you❣️
@timojansson from my experience since day one I quit meds, I had been only in the carnivore diet for 40 days and my ibs left my body, not going back to "normal", and as a BONUS I 🙃 lost 21 pounds 😊
@@Vickiboe592 Thank you so much for answering!!! Helps a lot. All the best to you, too!
@@wandamazzulo779 Wow, so amazing! Thank you for telling me :)
WOW, for the first time in 40 years, I have heard "my" story, via another human being. When sincere people want to know what I am going through, eyes glaze over, and then avoidance, isolation, darker place, rinse and repeat
There was so much life changing information discussed in this interview that it would be impossible to remember it all. Anyone struggling with achieving their health goals, no matter what those goals are, should watch this. I know I'll have to rewatch it, and more than just once or twice. Brett is amazing, inspiring, and relatable. I could have easily listened to much more. And Judy....you've been absolutely hitting them out of the park lately. Well done!
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind comments and for watching🥓🥩❤️✌🏻
Hey Judy,
I was really touched by this interview! Definitely was crying when both of you got real and shared you your heartfelt emotions! I am three years plus into my carnivore journey and still deep in the forest with crazy oxalate dumping. But that said I have noticed over the past three months that I’ve been experiencing some beautiful windows of joy that had me really excited about What’s coming! So many layers of illness and trauma clouding the joy that I believe is innate to all of us! I have quadriplegia from a spinal cord injury 10 years ago and last summer an area in my wrist just below the thumbs on both hands started showing signs of improved sensation. Two months later a much louder voice came out of me without trying and increased spitting distance pointing to improved diaphragmatic function. And then again about a month ago the improved sensation in my wrists spread to include the medial aspect of my thumbs! I’m feeling really blessed to be on this healing journey!
two weeks ago I was interviewing Sally Norton for the first time and it was supposed to be A shorter introduction to oxalates video and I was imagining it was going to be quite linear , Cut to the facts piece. But it went longer and had a strong emotional tone where we both teared up at times sharing. All that to say I’m really resonating with this interview and you showing up with your heart!
Thank you both for sharing your faith and your carnivore journeys. I’m hoping to one day convince my son to eat meat based to see if it helps his depression. You are both so encouraging!
Thank you so much for watching & may your son find the healing he rightly deserves❤️✌🏻
Brett has such a great success story! Thanks for the interview, Judy!
Thank you so much for watching🥓🥩✌🏻
Very powerful interview! Brett is so open and honest, you also Judy. You guys set such a great example for others to follow. Never stop doing what you're doing, you are changing people's lives for the better. Thanks to both of you.
Thank you so very much for watching✌🏻
What a fabulous discussion. Thank you so so so much. I am Carnivore ....ish !!!! .... been struggling .... my mental health, my sleep, my mood, my brain fog, mental confusion ..... goes manic when I cheat. Just listening to you both .... I am personally destroying myself .... thank you for the mental focus to realise that I am worth it. Thank You Judy and Brett.
Two people I highly respect. Great interview. Best to you both. James
Thank you so much for watching✌🏻
amazing and very informative interview.i am also musician jazz guitarist and i had depression that evolved to general stress disorder and ruined my life in all areas.thank you mr Lloyd for this veryn sincere interview.15 days carnivore and i am feeling already like a reborn person
Great interview, Judy. Thank you for bringing Brett’s story and sharing your story. It’s so important for us to hear.
This is a long interview, but worth listening to on many levels. The longer you listen the more you will begin to find common ground. This has been amazingly helpful for me to hear and I'll have to replay it again.
Brett’s description of his processing and behavior reminds me a little of my mother. Diagnosed with terminal COPD in addition to multiple other issues, the last few years of her life she refused to leave the house except for doctor appointments. Everything was so negative, every conversation was an argument and she felt that everyone was out to get her.
Her primary diet was large bowls of popcorn cooked in corn oil. ☹️
He's sitting there rocking. A common soothing action.
Thank you Judy and Brett for touching on some of the thinking that trips people up! I will be listening to this again!
So glad I listened to this. So touching. Thankful for you both!
Thank you for such an incredible and encouraging healing journey you both had!💗🙏🙏🙏
You both give me hope and encouragement ❤
Thank you so much for watching❤️✌🏻
Brett is very articulate. I used to see his posts on twitter often back when I had an account. Very positive message and inspiring- glad to see he's doing well and keeping up the streak!!!!
I loved this so much! Thank-you both for your honesty and kindness!
I stayed for the whole length of the interview, it was so motivating and insightful. I love Brett's story and I never get tired listening to his journey from torment to immense joy. Amen to the carnivore way of eating and the power if its healing. Thank you Judy for all that you do 😍
I LOVED this whole interview!!!! Thank you so so much!!
I really enjoyed this interview. So much information in here. I must watch again
I needed this. I'm a month into this and I'm already feeling better. I'm slowly getting off nasty adhd meds. I want to do for people what brett is doing for people. Big ups!
Great interview. I've never heard his story. I'll certainly be sharing this one. Thanks Judy 🤗❤️🇨🇦❤️🤗
This was incredibly moving and inspiring.
What a wonderful interview!!! God bless you both for being transparent and vulnerable. What a gift you are to people who desperately need hope and truth. This is one of the most profound interviews I have seen regarding carnivore. Thank you so very much!
Hands down, the best testimony I’ve heard so far. God bless you!
My favorite interview this far! Thank you so much!! 💜
Thanks so much for watching :)
Judy and Brett, this was an outstanding conversation. You BOTH added so much in the way of inspiration, motivation and a sense of peace around our way of eating, living and healing. I even loved the last part about faith, though I no longer identify with any religion or any labels, rules, traditions created by man. I´m actually more spiritual now than when I was a devout Catholic and then a devout Born-Again Christian for most of my life. And I certainly don´t believe in a ¨lake of fire.¨ I believe, as people like Anita Moorjani has shared with us, that when we cross over, there is only unconditional love and peace. The Divine Spirit, or The Source Of All Life cannot be anything other than pure love toward all living things manifested. There is no judgement or punishment awaiting anyone and that is what I now believe with every fiber of my being and in every part of my soul/spirit. She explained that judgements and punishments are important earthly concepts that we created in our justice system, but there is none of that when we leave this body. If a serial killer were to die without ever facing justice or punishment, they will have complete clarity and see for themselves the harms and pain they caused others. They will see how they became that way and how horribly they acted toward others and it will be THEMSELVES that judge themselves and vow to make amends from the other side. Of course, none of us can prove whether our version of what we believe is the truth or not, so as always, to each their own as it pertains to what happens when we leave this human life. Blessings and peace to all.
Wow! This is so great! I didn't want to stay 'til the end - but here I am, and it's not over yet. This has probably been one of the most helpful videos on this topic that I could ever watch! A thousand thank you's! Some of it was hard to hear, but glad I did.
Appreciate you watching so much❤️
Best testimony I’ve seen so far… I relate. Thank you Judy and Brett!
Thanks a bunch for watching!
A great discussion. Thanks
This was your most important interview. Thank you.
Superb presentation!! Gratitude for the forthright and heartfelt dialogue
God bless you and Brett.
It is our responsibility to share Brett's story to others.
Brett, you are a beautiful soul! Listening to this in the morning and I feel like you've filled my spirit for the day, thank you for sharing your story.
God bless you for sharing! 🧡 I greatly appreciate this video and will rewatch this awesome discussion.
Great interview, i could tell your experience with interviews wanted to try to stay on topic , but this guy was talking from the heart. Thank you for your patience with it . Absolutely great interview.
Great interview. Thank you. It reminds me again of so many of the basics.
Thank you for this interview!!
This video is so inspirational, although my experience was not that extreme, the changes to my mood and stress tolerance has been incredible. I wish everyone could try it!
What amazing life journeys!! Thank you both for sharing!!! ❤❤
Thanks very much for sharing the stories. Very helpful
So relatable, thank you both for sharing your experiences.☮️ ❤️
Thanks and bless you both 🙏🏻
Oh wow! It really helped to hear someone say they can never deviate. So few people understand that some of us absolutely cannot tolerate carbs. Great interview 👍
🥰wow! You both are beautiful souls!! Inspiring!
Thank you so very much for watching✌🏻
You are awesome! Thank you so much. Greetings from Brazil.
Yesterday, I watched Carnivore Soldier and he was addressing post war vets need for carnivore to help them overcome suicidal tendencies…
Love this and love you both! God is our healer! Thankful for your open sharing!
I loved the faith piece. Thank you for sharing 😊
OMG that was awesome!! One of the best vids on the subject - Thank you BOTH so much for your openness and honesty. Some of the highlights for me was how it may take people longer to heal than what we see online. Yeah some people heal so many things in 3 months but what if we don't?! What does that mean? What do we do about it? Are we actually doing something wrong? How long should it take?! All of those and more is what we all struggle with when things don't magically and suddenly get better FAST!
The other point that I thought was super important is that idea of "well once I heal I can go back to carbs and if I want to, I'll just jump back onto keto to fix myself again. No biggie" Well actually it might not be that simple and some people may never be able to get back into the Keto diet. That's SO important to remember.
Thanks again to the both of you and I look forward to your next discussion!
Thank you for this interview. I had so many aha moments.
Love Love... You Both are so inspiring. This hits home in so many ways. Back in my beginning jumping back n forth from the and n keto diet to Carnivore. It took one day of eating sugar to derail my mood. Whether its sugar or sugar alternatives. Just cant do it. Its has to get people to understand that. I also appreciate that you dont Ind talking about faith in your lives. Thank you both so much.❤❤❤
This is why brett is adamant about sweet tastes and not cheating , EVER . This last off plan eating absolutely whacked my mood . Hard . Lost every ounce of joy I worked hard to obtain .
What an amazing and profound interview!!! I need to watch it again and take notes! I see so many comments all over about people who tried carnivore and GAINED weight and/or felt crappy. I have many of the same issues as you both have or have gone through but I just don't think I could do strict carnivore. Even tho meat based keto hasn't done anything for me either yet.
Carnivore in conjunction with Sally Norton’s suggestions on oxalates might help!
7:30 I needed this part to give me hope from recovering from childhood abuse and residual anger and depression
Amazing 👏 I love it. God bless you guys. ❤❤❤
I’ve been on carnivore for a few months now. However, I haven’t gone for more than a week without breaking down and having fruit, a chocolate bar, or some wine. Nevertheless, I’ve been feeling good and my husband can tell that my mood is better.
I went to a retreat a few weeks ago and I took a Costco size bag of dried mangoes. I ate a ton of them! I felt very vulnerable at the retreat. And when I came home, my husband thought that I didn’t enjoy the retreat because I seemed really depressed. I was really depressed.
After watching this video, I’m convinced it was the dried mango that made me feel depressed at the retreat and for days afterwards.
wow, great experience
I hope to smile like you one day brett ❤❤❤❤
I had similar symptoms from zero sugar mints, depressive feelings 5 mins after taking them. Never again
I first came to the carnivore diet after watching Joe rogan interview Jordan Peterson. I had been a vegan for seven years and during that time I develop IBS to the we point I was scared to leave the house. After having been off antidepressants for three years I had been doing well but the stomach issues coincided with a return of my anxiety. This was two years ago and the community was divided between strict carnivore and fruit and honey ‘carnivore’. Because I had been vegan I was very much attracted to what seemed an easier version of fruit and honey! It wasn’t long before I landed in the Ray Peat community and added sugar, full fat milk and more to the list. I was told to eat a minimum of 1800 calories to heal my metabolism . I quickly gained weight and not seeing any benefits ended up eating the standard American type diet. Here I am again, still struggling with IBS and anxiety and wishing I hadn’t been sidetracked so easily 🙈
My favorite guy doing carnavore! So happy he’s well now. I understand this depression … unfortunately
I dont believe in god but i believe in people who seek the truth. Thanks Judy and Brett for your beautiful stories of over-coming so much unwellness.
riveting
Omg so inspiring
Praise God
It's so fascinating because I can eat many cuts of beef, but I can't eat ground beef. I realized it's probably the higher histamine from ground beef that's been sitting around for a while that seems to affect me.
Interesting. Makes me wonder about my own response to ground beef.
Brett is me. Time to go back to Carn.
Jordan Pettersson... What a legend...!
Brett is amazing! I feel this higher vibration level from the both of you ❤as for me i havw discovered empathy in me. Thanks to the fatty meat rich carnivore WOE 🥩 ✨
I wish I could find some good results from carnivore. For me eating meat has brought out psoriasis and I seem to be less happy at age 55. I want to keep trying, but my physical symptoms are quite hard to deal with. Medical people tell me the red meat causing psoriasis, I am not sure?
This is one of the most heartfelt carnivore videos I’ve seen ❤ absolutely loved this interview. So many things resonate with so many people. God bless you both
What was the video about fruit and honey? I couldn’t understand whose video he referenced. Help! ❤
I watched Jordan Peterson's video a week ago and I went back on Beef and water too!
Thanks for watching :)
One thing you are all missing is oxalates. I know Judy doesn’t believe in oxalates because she didn’t suffer from oxalate issues but there are thousands of us who are really suffering from oxalate dumping. One of the side affects is low mood and even depressive episodes during dumping. Eating carnivore is helpful but it may take longer to heal eating carnivore when you’re suffering from oxalate toxicity.
Oxalates are SO important. Check out a new channel. Wizards of Ox. Very informative.
@@susanitasandia5065 already watching thanks 😉
Dear Judy. I listened to this episode yesterday on another platform and wanted to come here to leave a note of gratitude and review. Brett’s journey and the alignment it parallels with your own is what I’ll call miraculous “life art” unfolding. While I do not suffer from mental health issues (debatably 🙃) I certainly have experienced what it feels like to feel a loss of joy and purpose. We are surrounded by it daily. And so this interview is invaluable for all to hear. The entirety of it. Because pharmaceuticals are never a long term remedy. In fact, they’re extremely (and in most cases) short lived bandaids with a very rapid turnaround success to a cascade of detriment time. Also, yours and Mr. Lloyd’s closing monologues are super powerful. This interview had nothing to do with me personally as I initially thought, but I realize it has everything to do with all of us. Because we are all living with or know many people in our extended universal human family who are. Especially in these past several decades. And we are all here meant to walk each other home fully and safely in joyous connection. Thank you for your heartfelt journeys.🫶
Im not eating those dam cookies, all dieters need this attitude
I am in carnivore a month now. I feel irritable, angry . 😢😢 Any suggestions
Keep going…
Holy cow
I added fruit as per Saladino but I didn’t feel good on it. It makes me bloat badly.
There are Angels !!!!!!!
I've been on and off antidepressants since my wife left me 28 years ago and can relate every bad episode to an event or situation in my life, usually relationship based and i have 'abandonment' issues from childhood...but I guess the fact that I'm not fully healing from these 'episodes ' could be dietary related???
Yes it's possible. Check on youtube: Interviews with Dr. Chris Palmer about metabolism,Ketogenic Diet for mental health. It's brilliant
Big Hugs 🫂 ❤
I am in the same boat. I am quitting dairy, also added some magnesium blind seams to help with constipation. I've been on carnivore for a year but cheat with chocolate ice cream once every two weeks. Feel lost until the darkness of my 💩 poo has come back. It's either diarrhea or constipation. Both suck. Now, just eating Angus hamber meat 20/80 and don't do salt cause It made me pee like crazy but now slowly adding it back in a long with 4 types of magnesium and this puts me too sleep finally. Maybe 🤔🧐 you're body needs to learn how to digest this much meat 🍖. Some days I'll do 5 lbs others 2 lbs. My hunger signals are out of wack. Thinking the vagus nerve has suffered damage maybe from parasites in the past.
I've had real problems with electrolytes on the carnivore diet and it makes my anxiety so much worse.. i know im on the right path but i just cant put my finger on what im missing.
I always make sure I have extra salt on hand....even putting some in my water every day. Hope this helps. p.s. if I don't have enough salt, I get muscle cramps.
I did at first… tons of muscle cramps… then I started adding the Keto Chow electrolyte drops to my unsweetened iced tea that I sip on all day long. No more cramping. No more electrolyte issues.
You may probably be eating too much protein. Eat 0.8 to 1g protein per body mass and increase fats
I love pre cooking a lot of meat and either cut into smaller pieces sealed in container and kept in refrigerator and take out what I need for meal or extra if hungry…yummmmm
How come I get very dry itchy skin no matter how much fat I eat on carnivore? I eat alot of salt too
Hmm. I'd look into fatty acids and adding omega 3s (salmon, fatty fish) and sufficient water
Thanks for watching✌🏻
Do you get an itchy scalp too? Mine is sporadic. I haven't been able to figure out what causes it. Has your hair thinned?
@@nutsforthebeach I have never had itching issues and I was bald before I started Carnivore so there you go🥓🥩✌🏻
@@nutsforthebeach Whole body and scalp is itchy and dry. My hair is the same.
I’m addicted to 20% fat beef mince. It’s the highest fat I can find. But that swimming in butter.
People talk a lot about cake and coke and other carbs. But let's be honest: alcohol is the big taboo. How many (mostly) men have resceduled their food and look for ways to keep the drinks.
I crave snickers all the time.
Is Brett in outter space?
I have a question: How do people afford to eat just meat? It seems like it would be very expensive ...
😥🙏💚❣🦋🐝
🥓🥩❤️✌🏻
I enjoyed this, but what a sad commentary that someone telling him, we came swinging out of the trees eating meat, is what convinced him to try carnivore.
Just as a point of fact that today most primates only eat meat sporadically.
I am not a monkey or an ape.
The anthropological "studies" conclusions are based mostly on conjecture.
We should not use them to "prove" people ate meat when they were turning in to people.
And we did not evolve into people. God made us people in his image. Genesis 1:27.
David said I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalms 139:14
God gave us these amazing self-healing bodies.
We must give God the glory.
That being said, I get it, it's the catch you phrase, "the proper human diet."
Stating that it's the proper human diet gets a lot of people's attention.
I love Dr Berry and his encouragement through UA-cam videos is what helped me to go Carnivore.
Listen to the results of Carnivore, but don't rest your laurels on it being the right diet for you due to anthropology.
Thanks
And thanks to Judy who helped me in my Carnivore beginning with suggestions for salt and sole water, etc...
Frank tufano said his liver was a wreck and he almost died on carnivore.
🤓✌🖖👍👌😎
Thanks for watching!
Those bars are REALLY EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!
A cold cooked ribeye out the fridge is way more HEALTHY in a pinch (instead of a bar)
It's a clean option for Carnivores on the go.
Those bars will never be affordable in Canada...ever! Same for Carnivore Crisps and all the electrolyte powders that are being pushed on the YT videos. I fast forward through the forced ads (I have a YT Premium acct to avoid ads 🤦🏼♀️).
I would not but that candy bar she is selling
