- First coat done with sprayer, 411tip, 2nd coat was back rolled!!! Doors and trim are always painted after, Carpet was replaced for tile.

First year of painting.
I start from top to bottom now,
I keep mastering my craft.

No masking tape, no floor covering, overspray will be everywhere. No back rolling, spraying in every direction...maybe it would look good to the untrained eye, but not to real painters.
Patch work walls is a thing
Exactly.
Real painters don’t do messy work!!
I figured they were going to replace the carpet..
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. I frame $1,00,000+ homes. They spray pretty much everything. You get a smooth finish that most high end homeowners want. Plus there is no need to backroll if you prime the wall and have good paint(which he mentions he does in the video description if your dumb ass can read)
@@LostinYTblackhole At 8:59 that mask man went out the door on a permanent holiday.. just like that dirty paint job he did.. overspray
Wife asked him to do this 6 months ago. Gets it done in 8 minutes.

I hate that!!! Procrastinate for years and it gets done in 15 minutes!!!
6 months & 8 min...
That's why it took 6 months, too easy.
I'd love to see a high resolution close up of the frames and skirting. I can't believe it would look good.

Carpets probably being replaced
1:51 smears paint on carpet
2:07 sprays window sill
2:16 sprays window sill again
2:46 sprays phone jack and cover
3:33 sprays trim near door because his shield is too short
4:36 sprays door trim at bottom
4:41 sprays door trim at left side

This ain’t a painter it’s just someone who paints 💯
Amazing that people are STILL commenting on this 7 years later without reading the description. He is spraying a first coat in an empty room where the carpet is going to be replaced and the trim will be painted later. The 2nd coat is going to be backrolled to even out the paint film, the 1st coat is just to get some color on the wall. He is not finish spraying. He's a wizard with that spray shield, especially since he is a first year painter. They didn't even let me touch a sprayer my first 2 years except to set it up/tear it down. For those concerned about the ceiling, he doesn't specify but likely will be masking the walls with masking film the next day to spray the ceiling which will give it a clean straight line. For those concerned about doing more prep work....they emptied the room. It appears that the trim is all caulked because I don't see any seams/cracks. The outlets are covered with blue tape. The cable outlet looks like it was already painted before, so he is merely going over something that's already painted. Other than the window and maybe the doorknobs, what else should he have done? Cover the nasty carpet that's being ripped out in a couple days? For those concerned about the window frame....WHAT WINDOW FRAME? There is no trim around the window. It's drywall framed and he sprays it. Pro painters are taught to spray as much as possible because it's fast and efficient. His spray technique has improved and hopefully he lets go of the trigger now and then. He uses a 411 tip which spreads the fan out to 8" with an orifice size of 0.011". That means he is not putting much paint on, just enough to put some color on the walls, so that the 2nd coat will cover nicely and even out with the backrolling. This dude got a good education in painting and is probably making a ton of money now. My only peeve is that he didn't mask the window as there is definitely a paint cloud in that room that the camera doesn't show. Live and learn. After the 2nd coat, ceiling, and trim are painted, this room will look as good as someone that cuts/rolls it out without a sprayer or someone that masks all of the trim as opposed to using the shield. But in a fraction of the time. Most of you naysayers don't even know what you're looking at or how the painting process unfolds. Or you're a painter/former painter that is being a cutthroat dirtbag because you think that the one way you know how to paint is the only way to paint. He's not showing a finished product. He's showing 1 step among many. And again, he is the first one to say that his spray technique is not perfect, if you bothered to read the description. Some of you people just can't wait to dump on others I guess. And having a cousin, friend, or dog that's been a painter for 20 years doesn't make you a painter by proxy. Well done amigo!
You tell ‘em!!
It's also just a crumby apartment , this would never fly in a nice house .
I'm actually buying a air brush painter to paint my new house I'm moving in. But I also want to paint houses myself so I'm Goin to watch more. This video is great. Should I paint walls first?or ceiling?
@@STONERNCOMPANY With no experience I would not recommend this . Cut and roll your walls which also takes experience to do it right as painting is not a hobby .
This guy is spraying walls In an apartment complex where quality doesn't matter , he likely has painted this same room 20 times .Painting in this manner would not fly in a nice home.
Typically you do all your prep work first such as sanding and caulking . Paint the ceilings and the trim first then the walls last .
@@STONERNCOMPANY There are lots of factors regarding how to unfold the painting process. First, I agree with Manchesterexplorer....spraying is not something you pick up by watching youtube. Most of us work under another painter for 1-4 years to learn all the ins & outs. A person can really make a mess with a sprayer, but without good masking and caulking, you will flat out ruin everything. If you insist on spraying then ideally you would do all the painting before you move in while the house is empty. Prep all the trim and cover everything(windows, hardware, appliances, floors). Using an airless sprayer is like setting off a paint bomb inside the house. Spray the trim. Let it dry overnight then mask the walls from floor to ceiling to protect the new trim. Then spray and back-roll all the ceilings. Let dry overnight. Now you can tear down all masking and mask the baseboards and window sills. Keep the floor covered. Now you can brush and roll walls. If you want to also spray and back-roll walls, you can, but it will require a whole lot more masking. I would spray trim first, then mask off all trim to spray walls, then mask the walls off to spray ceilings. The only companies I know that do it this way are the ones with a few guys to do all the masking. Having an A+ masking game is how pro painters make money. They call us painters, but really we are paint preppers. We spend %80 or more of our time prepping to paint. Spraying inside an occupied and/or furnished house is a TALL order and not recommended. It forces you to break up the house into sections which increases the time required up to 5x and thus increases the cost when bidding jobs. My recommendation for a person with no spray experience is to hire a pro to, at least, paint the ceilings for you and preferrably the trim too. Then you can brush/roll walls yourself. If you brush the trim yourself, do it before the walls. It's way easier to cut in walls up to the trim, rather than cutting in trim up to the walls. If you cut in trim up against freshly painted walls, use blue tape to mask the walls around the trim to get nice lines.
See? I told you there were lots of factors....These are just some basic scenarios. If you do any spraying, WEAR A RESPIRATOR!
NOTE: "Masking" refers to anything from 1" - 2" blue or white tape, 9" -12" paper, 4' -6' masking film(for windows), 9' -12' masking film(for walls), and floorpaper(for hardwood or tile). Use drop cloths for carpet. First thing to check out is how to use a handmasker.
Hope this helps.

@@vincentt416 it has nothing to do with the lighting and sun. Sprayers dont spray evenly, you need to backroll over whatever you are spraying to make the paint even on the wall. @@alexaronow9316 that doesn't matter. things change on jobs every second. it takes literally seconds to lay down a tarp. who is to say people complained and they added to the description that the carpet was getting replaced. people are going to nit pick. If you are going to make a video showing how bad ass you think you are make sure it's legit. Carpets aren't always replaced. One of my investors had a painter come in and spray his units. and assumed all the flooring was being replaced. made a mess and then learned not all the flooring was being replaced. it then had to be replaced. However. for those who do spray walls this is how EVERYONE does it. they still take a minute to plastic off the windows and put down tarps and cover electrical. this was still half ass.

These are the rooms that my customers ask me to fix. Uneven lines on the baseboards and ceiling, over spray on trim. He’s probably got a great sprayer and crank the air pressure down. Not a good idea when people are living in the houses like most my customers. Wonder how it looks when it’s dry from close up? Needs a second coat especially if it’s eggshell or satin you’ll need someone to come behind you and back roll to get the sheen consistent. Glad I read this comment. I sprayed my house recently during renovation works and what a nightmare it is... Great for the mist coat but never again for the top coat.
Too much overspray with these things.
The big straight edge is brilliant. I was stressing about the time it would take to mask edges and this is just so much better in every way.
No, its not. This is a really bad idea. The paint gets on the other side of the straight edge and gets all over the base. Trust me, ive tried many times with many different tips in the spray gun. This just doesnt work. Cut in with a brush and roll the walls.
I agree with the comment below please do not use this method as a go to. By the time he is going to take to go back in that room and fix all of his fuck ups from where he got paint on probably on everything is pointless when we are in a remodel home we focus on taping everything up on the floor with paper and frog tape push all the furniture to the center of the room cover it with plastic and tape that to the paper we then spray All trim including baseboard windows and Crown we will then frog tape the top of the baseboard and the crown meeting the ceiling that way we can roll out the ceiling and get the overspray off of it we then continue to cut in the room and roll out walls when you peel back all your tape the 3-D effect really pops out people will shit on you for using tape and paper but the results speak for themselves I rather take time insuring thay I don't have a long punch out and the people's home that they are living in ends up looking Immaculate and very clean and very sharp this is been my favorite method and I've tried many methods
It really doesn't take that much extra time to tape off the important things in that room.
And to cut in the ceiling... an extra hour...2 hours to do a super job. And nothing will have overspray on it.
The ceiling, trim on the floor, windows, and whatever else will have to be cleaned and repainted after this paint job I'm sure..
Which will take several hours to fix what got messed up after making this cool 9 minute video.
And if you don't put it on fast enough... and especially if you hit the same place more than once..20 minutes later every wall will have paint running all the way down it to the floor. If it starts drying-- you'll have to scrape off all those big paint runs. Sand it all smooth.. and repainted it all again
But if it's all still wet. Wet enough... and the walls are dripping. you can roll out all the drips w a roller that's dipped in fresh paint too.

@@sk818factory5 no it is not, paint has a dry fall rating, that is dependent on humidity, air temperature and tip size. In a room with the size of tip he is using, the paint is certainly has not had the time or exposure to heat and air to meet the proudct dryfall rating. There is overspray every where guaranteed. It is better to spray all the walls all the way up and all the way down throughout all rooms . This takes 3 minutes for that size of rm. Spray it twice if u like. Hit the basebaords, trim and ceiling when spraying the walls. Next step let walls dry over night.
Next day use paper and tape machine and go along the ceiling line and place paper protecting walls. This size if rm can be done in 1.5 mintues painted in less then 30 seconds
Next peel paper.
Next paper along the trim protecting the wall again. This size rm takes 5 minutes then painted in 2 minutes.
So this method all walls ceiling and trim can be painted in 12 minutes
3 min walls
2 min ceiling
7 minutes trim
Good job, love it!
Painters and Roofers always in a hurry because its 5 O'clock somewhere.
I swear
Dead on!
As someone who's been a decorator for 21 years I can say this 5pm stuff is absolute bollocks........I work till 3pm and no later 🤣
Framers as well.
A proper roofer gets paid by the square though, not by the hour. So 5 o'clock means absolutely nothing.
7:28 the ceiling painted😂😂😂
oops ..... not to mention guarantee the baseboards need a ton of touch up from shield leakage .... He ain't "done" in 9 minutes
@@shure46 even with that shield I promise you there is over spray on the trim from going that fast. Even though that a low pressure tip when he moves that shield there's droplets still floating down
@@chrisbattaglia1436 I know , that's why I said what I said
@@shure46 lol he should have masked his trim first then claim his "9" minutes
Then he got the door frame just after that
I liked his use of a shield, i need 2 try that too, thank you man!
Beautiful work.
Put a can of paint in the middle of a room, put half stick of dynamite in it. Same results as this video
I believe Mr Bean used the same method 😄.
Am I missing something ? Did paint splatter?
Tee B - splatter but still a sloppy job.
LMAO
😂😂😂
This is the best way if youre gonna repaint the baseboards and doors and replace carpet. Because the over spray will leaves specs of paint everywhere.
Excacly what was happening
True Star I can see why you painted like that . You don’t know . Lack of experience . Maybe do a spell check next time bud . Maybe get some whites before u make another video . Take some pride in your job .
painting the outlets is always a nice touch.
mik h lol eh let the electrician worry about it
So.. I'm watching this video to figure out a few things. 1. What type of sprayer would be good for latex paint indoors. I'm painting an entire house here in a few weeks. They are replacing the carpet and tile they have so flooring isn't a problem. They have the same color base boards I believe. Idk can one of you guys give me some advice?
That sneeze was a perfect example of why you wear a respirator 😂
Beast mode... wow. Love it!
Plot twist: He starved to death because he charged by the hour.
Don t worry a painter, doing also the walls, reparing hole, first coat second etc he is losing the time there 😋
They also charge per project not hourly.
@@LA-qt3tr just let the joke be a joke. Jesus
He should be charging by job and uncut all his competitors!

It's always great to see a young craftsman applying his skills of the trade. Try turning your tip horizontal to the handle for better control, especially up high and down low. If a man, or woman, learns to paint they will always be able to make a good living. Good job buddy.
SBB1809 probably because your skills lack and that’s why your pay does also! Step your game up.

@SBB1809-SURE IT DOES...….LOL........STOP DREAMING.....POSSER.........SMFH
@SBB1809 i refurbished a house nd had to do it in 5 days, i used a sprayer and made 3 thousand pounds in 5 days. painters make a lot if you can run your quotes right
I just did a commercial job where the first painter tried doing this without masking. Even though it was still under construction the owner fired the painter after an hour of watching him spray without covering or masking the windows and other parts of the space. Even he knew about back rolling.
This is so ballsy tho. Could easily get paint on rug windows trim and doors.
He basically 99%ed it beside that mistake on the ceiling. Best painter I’ve seen
How to paint a room in9 min. And the spend 4 hours cleaning up overstay and touching up.😂😂😂
That would be me!
If it takes u 4h to clean a room ur a looser or the paintgun😂
Prob paint all over the ceiling and baseboard and sides of the trim lol.
Jmmssm I was thinking the same about overspray. Of course he won’t see it until he’s done but maybe he plans on replacing the floors and door.
Literally says in the description that he paints the trim and doors last. Reading is fundamental. Smart guy.
When you “know a guy”
WOW!!! He killed it!!! Nice 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Bet this room walls gonna look like the mini world map after the paint dry 😂😂
Now they recommend this after I painted my entire house with a roller and brush
using a sprayer takes a LOT of skill it is not the go-to tool for a novice a brush and roller are much easier for a beginner to get a nice product with
Yep, no clean up of over spray either,! Ot touch up ! Lol, i would bet this is apartment work, too!

😂
Ughhhhh.
This was weirdly satisfying to watch 😄
I just happened across your video and i am so impressed you did a magnificent job and in short order 😊👍👍
No this is not a job well done. A painter would never use a shield inside like that. With no plastic over window....... They 100% just ruined the ceiling, the window, doorframes/ trim. He painted a electric outlet....... Imange at burger king. If they took no time to assemble your burger they just tossed all of the ingredients (bun, meat, cheese, pickles) in a bag. And then had the balls to tell you "well we did it in 5min instead of 6" 🤷
#1 thing to always do before spraying is how well you do your prep work 💯👌
The comment section is awesome... Us painters must be the smartest in the trades. Myself included.. don't ask me how to paint something I'll hold your ass hostage.😅
I'm not a professional painter but I do paint rooms in my house. I'm reading the other comments the pros are leaving, and I don't care - that was freaking amazing!! It would take me all day to paint that room by hand. Ok, it wasn't perfect, but I was very impressed! I need a sprayer in my life... And one of those edger things too!
its an overspray shield
Are you copying another persons comment word for word? Or is she copying you word for word?
@Minty Sakura lol.
Hugo Poggio well said
That was a horrible paint job. There was overspray on everything. The floor the windows and ceiling. And the walls had uneven spots of coverage. There would be so much clean up that it would not be worth it. I only use my air sprayer outside because taping off to avoid overspray is very time consuming.
May I ask what size paint shield you’re using? 36” or 48” thanks. 👍
When I was house hunting, I looked at alot of houses that looked great in the pictures to only find out how terrible they looked when I saw them in person. The camera can hide all kinds of mess and this is proof.

Ayman Abdeldayem you so silly, "God bless you" pun intended. . lol
room full of paint particles lol guess camera man didn't have a mask. all that white trim had to have lil brown specs

Reminds me of when I was in the military, if it don't move, and you don't salute it, paint it!
Amazing how he uses that paint shield while there is over spray falling to floor.
The carpet got replaced with tile after the second coat, then trim paint.
Was gonna say this would only work if they replace the flooring
Thats why they don't spray rooms too much. Lots of waste. Old fashioned roller works best
As a fellow painter how do you keep the overspray from getting onto the ceiling? There’s so much paint particles in the air that I would be afraid it would stick to the ceiling
I cant see it from my house 🤣💀jk💀🤣
You don’t, there’s overspray everywhere
yeah, cause that's exactly what it does. there's even paint all over the windows and door frames. This was a very careless way to spray a room

@@djdradp8baller2 that’s what I was thinking !
That was sweet!!!! I’m using a Wagner tomorrow- it won’t be that fast but you show me a huge trick!!! Thank you for your great work and sharing
hahaha howd that workout?
If you use the Wagner 130 Pro it has equivalent power to the Graco entry level sprayer, both are limited to a 515 tip. I covered an entire room in 10 minutes, thing is a monster. The handheld guns are not exactly a great option, you will need to refill the container constantly and also you must thin it. Only the Flexio claims to spray unthinned, but I have heard mixed results. The Wagner 130 Pro is a beast and will atomize the thickest latex paint like Behr, and any primers etc. Very well designed unit, one drawback is a fixed PSI but it's at 1600PSI. You'll notice a lot of pros running around that range, the Wagner is optimized for a wide range of projects and lacks the control of the pro grade models.
Painting is the easy part-- taping is the real trick!
Yea i find that if you take a day to prep carefully, you save days of work.
Not if you practice on cutting around trim and outlets without tape . Saves you a lot of time and money . But does test your patience
The lazy man does twice the work.
If I did that to a customers house I would be fired and probably never get hired by anyone ever again.
If you did "what" exactly?? Because many empty homes/apartments are done this way... the only thing I seen that he will have to fix is where he hit the ceiling at 7:28 otherwise he did a good job! Maybe you don't realize the flooring is being replaced and the doors get painted last... along with the door jams... even the one he over sprayed near the beginning of the video.
There would be so much spray in the air falling on the trim. Smh. Lets add the time of sanding the trim and recording it....
