Best $99 I ever spent. A fantastic little semiautomatic 22 cal rifle. Reliable and accurate, a great beginner's gun and a cheap way to get into rabbit hunting or squirrel hunting. I own more expensive rim fire rifles but dollar for dollar I don't own any better.
That’s how I feel about my marlin 795. This rifle is really nice, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten the opportunity to use it more than once or twice.
My 1st rifle actually used it in a defense shooting and was unfortunately wounded but being it was 2 shooters against this little 22lr it sure saved me a whole lot less bullet holes in my ass....
My brother-in-law got one for $89 at wally world a year ago for varmit control. It suits his needs pretty well. He's only used CCI ammo in it,no hang ups or jams so far.
I've watched other videos on this rifle. It looks like a few downsides of it is its bitch to clean, and the 25 round mag for it can be a little difficult to load. Otherwise a pretty good rifle to own for the price.
I ordered the Marlin 795, also own Marlin 60 with the wood stock and SS barrel. And smith and Wesson m&p sport 15-22., I love me some 22lr! I would like to buy a mossberg 702 plinkster too. Hell I want to buy them all who am I kidding lol! Great video I'm your 722 subscriber! Plz keep the videos coming we really enjoy them
My first 702 had mechanical issues and shot patterns, not groups...phone call to Mossberg, they sent me a shipping label and box...6 weeks later, rifle at my door with FedEx, a signature and my rifle is home...opened box and inside was my rifle and 2 magazines and a letter...bad barrel which they replaced...Shot so well went out and bought another one for my wife to shoot...not as accurate as my Marlin 795, but, these rifles are not International Match rifles either! LOL....good video...tnx
My girl got me this rifle for Christmas a few years back i really like it . She got it new for 100 bucks. I really like it a fun lil plinker . I bought 25 rd mag . its not very good Dont waste ur $$$ on it. I dont think iv had any ftf or any fails that i can think of. The only con iv found about this rifle is it can be a lil bit of a pain to disassemble for cleaning. Great vid ! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching. Enjoy your shooting. I believe I read something online the other day about this rifle being designed to not have to be disassembled for cleaning. They said that it was really hard to disassemble so they suggested you don’t take it apart at all. It was weird to read and it may be wrong.
I disassemble mine . its not really that bad and they do get very dirty fast because its 22lr and 22 is a dirty ammo. There are vids on youtube showing how to take them apart for cleaning. like i said its not really to bad unless you compare it to the marlin 795 which is very easy to disassemble and the Ruger 10/22 and many more. I clean and repair fire arms for my friends , been doing it along time . So its not bad to disassemble to me. but a person that has never done any thing like this would want to take to someone who has experience in this area. Its a great rifle for the money i really love mine. I always enjoy ur vids . keep em coming .
Hi mqa, nice comment. I agree about disassembly of semi auto .22's. Some are easy (like my Norinco ATD.22) However, some are a royale PIA. My Marlin Papoose is a pain so are most handguns as the thousands of gripes about the Rugers will attest to. I have a decent brace of .22's and most are not semi autos and are (dare I say) pleasant to clean. My favorites (for cleaning ease) are Rossi 62SAC carbine, Ithaca 49, Taurus 72 (.22 magnum) carbine, Marlin 20 Glenfield, Rossi Matched Pair .22 and my semi auto Charter Arms AR-7 is kinda easy to clean too. My only .22 handgun is a Ruger KNR-5 and is a breeze to takedown and clean. You don't happen to make house calls to Albany, NY do you??????
I've got 2 of them 1 I did a build with the other one is all stock I've put thousands upon thousands of rounds through them still running strong. Also Mossberg has the 25 round mags there ok they take forever to break.
I got my Marlin 795 for about $150. I've seen Savage 64 for around $100 on sale, also a fairly nice gun. The Mossberg 702 locally is about $138. Curious, how long to the batteries in your Active Ear Protection last?
@@gunguytx - cool got it. Do they work well? I always worried that they wouldn't respond fast enough and my ears would still get a blast. You commented in another video, but can you confirm that when no loud noise has shut them down, that you can actually hear BETTER with them on? Enjoy your videos. In case you don't remember, I'm the guy that suggested that you shoot SOAP. Amazingly dense and able to stop bullets.
I’ve never had them respond slow. They’ll even respond to a hand clap. I think they have safeties to keep from hurting your ears. Yes I can hear better with them on. Sometimes I forget I have them on lol.
Right on. Thanks for the review. I was looking at the Chiappa M1 but your review turned me off of that ( Soo much plastic, unreliable, open breach) and considered this .22 instead
Good, I bet he enjoys it. That is a lot for a magazine, that’s basically 1/3rd of what the rifles cost! Depending on the rifles price in your area of course.
Hey GunGuy, me again. If this was your first time shootin' this Mossberg, ya done good. Look, I know I'm an opinionated old fart, so here goes. The sights look kinda Mickey Mouse/Star Wars. I'm sure they're fine, but.......Also the cursed Ruger 10/22 has spoiled me with a nice "flush fit" magazine, to the point that I don't like the mag stickin' out. Looking closely at the action, it looks like a Marlin in profile, don't it??? Last complaint, I hate plastic stocks (except on my Charter Arms AR-7). God made the world, then he made guns with WOOD stocks. I do like the schnabel forend and the stock looks durable. Heck, the price is great. I remember (in 1977) the Marlin 60 selling for $50 and I paid $90 for my 10/22 in 1979. You didn't mention if the receiver is grooved for scope mounting, is it?? I still think you do fun and interesting videos. Thanks.
Thank you sir. The sights on this gun do look a touch strange but in my opinion when you’re looking down the sights they look good and are accurate. It does kind of look like a Marlin. Thanks for watching!
It's shit. A man gave me one, ran maybe 25 rounds through it. Cleaned it, didn't want it, gave it to me. Out of every 10 rounds I have at least 3 ejection failures. Has to be taken completely apart and filing done. Lol no thanks. I'll stick to mossberg shotguns.

Sweet! I just picked up a marlin 795 because of your review! Its a great gun, and Ive also heard good things about the plinkster
Awesome man! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
My 1st rifle actually used it in a defense shooting and was unfortunately wounded but being it was 2 shooters against this little 22lr it sure saved me a whole lot less bullet holes in my ass....
Oh man...glad you were able to defend yourself! If you’re not opposed, I’d definitely like to read more about that defense shooting.

Wow, that’s such a low price for a decent all around .22 rifle.
i currently own this same model. i purchased it for my 7 yr old daughter and she loves it. great size smooth action.. and i only paid $100. GREAT GUN
Awesome! Always good to teach kids to shoot at a young age.
Excellent review I'm a new subscriber!
Thank you!
These guns are made by cbc in Brazil.
Don Settie I have a 410 shotgun made in Brazil an it works great, had a Brazilian gf an she wasn’t bad either lol
I've watched other videos on this rifle. It looks like a few downsides of it is its bitch to clean, and the 25 round mag for it can be a little difficult to load. Otherwise a pretty good rifle to own for the price.
Is it been reliable long term?

Thanks for subscribing, friend! .22 LR is probably my favorite caliber and the guns that shoot them are lots of fun too.

That’s a good story man. Mossberg has my respect after that. I own 1 Mossberg and it’s Maverick 88 12ga and I love that shotgun.

mqa1963 I just recently bought one and 25rd your right there not working or worth it, they suck plinkster magazine
By the way the gun is Great and accurate, lightweight easy to travel with and hunt long periods of time with it👍 great sights😎🙅🏽♂️💯
How does this compare to the Ruger 10/22?
The 10/22 is better but this isn’t a bad gun
22lr ?
I feel like I’m watching a John wick movie. 😉great video
I've got 2 of them 1 I did a build with the other one is all stock I've put thousands upon thousands of rounds through them still running strong. Also Mossberg has the 25 round mags there ok they take forever to break.
Good deal! Thanks for watching.
I’m assuming you mean the 702? I literally just bought one a half hour ago
Ya 702. The 25 round mags are a Bitch to break in but once their done they work Good the springs seen to be to tight.
Charlie Webb that’s what I’ve been seeing

I’ve had my ear pro for about two years now. The brand of it escapes me, but it still has the same batteries that I put in it a couple years back.

No problem, I’m glad I could help. The 702 is a pretty good little rifle for cheap.
compatible with hta 90/22 kit?
I am not sure. I’ll have to research.
@@gunguytx Thank you, if you can, speak here, please.
got my son one. the hi cap mags are forty bucks tho. that's steep just for one magazine.
Good, I bet he enjoys it. That is a lot for a magazine, that’s basically 1/3rd of what the rifles cost! Depending on the rifles price in your area of course.
Great review, looks like a great rifle...
It seems to be. Thanks for watching.
Is it US made?
I believe it’s made in Brazil.
Thanks!
my 25rd works fine
Kinda looks like 10/22
Are you from bama?
Nope I’m from Texas.
so its basically a carbon copy of a marlin model 60, with a mag worse than a 795. great..

Águila ammo sucks
