- Bad Cat Hot Cat 15 from the years when the former Matchless Marc Sampson were at Bad Cat. Thomas Little and I play it here using a Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty and a Squier Affinity Telecaster. PLAYED LOUD!
Bad Cat still makes high quality amps. I bought their cheapest amp ever back in 2014, the Cougar 15, which was a Bad Cat design manufactured in China. 500 hundred bucks got me one helluva Vox ac15 sound and started me on my tube amp journey. Love those monsters. Great taste, Brohan.

Great video as always. The one amp I can’t get out of my head was the time I played a Matchless JJ-30, just once back in 2005-ish. Still haunts me. Mr Sampson sure had some magic.

I really enjoy how this channel often throws aside the cheap gear is crap and shows it can really rock! could use any guitars to demo- chooses Afinity range squire. sometimes (myself included) we tend to let price change how we hear the tones. Cheers man!

Wow Johan I really liked that amp very nice. The sound of the Les Paul cranked was just nasty good. I also like the clean sounds you got out of the Tele. This amp seems to be very versatile everything from filthy gain to chimey, clean and warm tones as well. Even the Les Paul played at lower volume had a nice warm, clean tone which I don't always hear with Les Pauls they tend to sound a bit muddy but this amp made them sound quite good. Very good video good job.

I had a Bad Cat Black Cat 30 2x12 combo, also very nice full sounding aggressive but not harsh. I saw Porcupine Tree live in my state and the guitarists each used a Bad Cat Hot Cat, I think one Hot Cat 30 & one Hot Cat 50 (2xEL34). Man what a tone! Glad you got to demo a BCHC Johan!!! Cheers!

I tried Bad Cat 3-months ago and realized I had to have one, so I bought two. The Cougar 50 import had fascinating depth, clarity and response. I realized I was onto something very good and very rare, so I stepped up and got the USA Player Series Cub 40R and it was completely next-level. I had to sell my Blackstar and Marshall favorites to cover the cost, but the Bad Cats ruined me for anything else so they’d have been left sitting unplugged, anyway. Incidentally, you can reach the majority partner, John Thompson, on the phone very easily to discuss your amp needs... great people!
