The lynx is my fave of the bunch. All are great for what they do.
I think if you and Pete Thorn were to do an intro song together the internet would explode…lol You both excel at slightly out of the box rockin’ goodness that pricks up those ears.

Intro tune sounded so good -- mix is tops. Would love a video on some of your techniques for getting the guitars that big in a mix. Love these amps -- they all sound great. I have a Lynx I bought back in '09, still my favorite amp of all time. The new one is definitely different, more aggressive and full featured.

I have a 2014 Hot Cat and not going to lie - I like it better than the new one based on the tone in this video. Maybe it now fills a different tone place than my version. Mine sounds more aggressive. From this demo sounds like I need to pick up a Lynx though - wow now that’s the tone!!! ❤❤❤

On closer inspection it's the Lynx.... I really like that thing....
It says what amp is being played for the different parts in tiny letters in the bottom right of the screen. The part you’re referring to is the Lynx, channel 1 (oops…just saw the hidden part of your comment. Haha)

I don’t think that there is a “bad amp” in Bad Cats lineup, I in fact love them all and as such believe that the only remedy (at least for me) is to purchase both the Cub, and the Lynx 😎

Great video and comparison! For big open overdriven tones (STP-CLUTCH) which amp is the best? Lynx or Hot Cat?
The Lynx. Unless you need a clean tone. Then go Hot Cat.

Incredible demos and playing! Thanks :). Also wondering - knowing that you have used the 'Dirty Shirley' extensively, how would it compare to the new Cub?
Thanks. The Cub is fat like a Dirty Shirley, but has more cut and bite in the top end. More edge. It's like a fat plexi (kinda). The Cub would be more at home in a harder rock setting, the Shirley Is sweeter and warmer rounder.

Always a good demo. One thing though, if I'm going to drop a grand or more, I would like to see the whole amp front AND back! A little on the FX loop and pedal acceptance.
Thanks David. 4 amps in 1 video. Something has to give. Thankfully, I knew other guys would be individually demoing amps in greater detail. This video is a quick stop showing the refreshed lineup as a whole.
Bad Cat should have done deep dives into all these amps themselves for as big of a release as this was for them. I think all the youtubers did great. BC really dropped the ball imo.
These aren’t truly expensive amps and seldom are the effect loops really covered. Isn’t it amazing that we can watch all this gear get demo’d…FOR FREE
bad cat delivers some great tones.
I have bought a Cub and it sounds great. My only criticism is that I can't read the signage on the controls because it is too feint in a gigging situation. The rear sockets are even more difficult to read.
Don't be afraid to dust off that headstock during string changes! Man you're 80's riffage has gotten really tight, sounds sweet for sure!
I did. Someone mentioned that in a vid a few weeks ago. I don't ever look at the headstock, but now I'm looking for it! Dust patrol!
It's the magic dust that gives the magic tone, leave it alone!
@@BigHairyGuitars I'm sure you can find them many places but if you search for "keyboard brush" there are some nice, inexpensive, long bristled brushes that are nice for dusting off guitars.

Every amp has its own range now. They are all built in California and share many similarities with the Player Series' models!
There's no more series's. Everything is streamlined to these 4.
Great demo with some killer riffs. I'm really digging the Black Cat. What was that Suhr with the gold hardware? Gorgeous guitar.
Thanks! That Suhr is essentially a Reb Beach model. Koa modern Suhr with MagFrag pickups (normally Suhr would have EMG)

I like the Hot Cat. Looking for another amp to go with my BE100 - that might just be another to add to the list.
@12:55 First of all, Mr. Nielsen is the UA-camst of UA-camrs. First of all, Bad Cat makes great amps. First of all, WHY do companies continue to waste the money to put a Tremolo in an amp ? First of all, I use a totally different EQ on my clean vs. dirt channels and first of all, Mr. Nielsen is the UA-camst of UA-camrs !
I'd have to agree with you on a Tremolo being a waste of Time, Space, and Expense ! 😉👍
Only Time will tell if this BadCat Update pays off for their Brand ? 🤔

Regarding the Cub, guessing having the 2 switchable master volumes allows you to boost your own solos if needed?

Like everyone else is saying, awesome playing. But I’m still unsure of the differences other than the cub is single channel and lynx is high gain.

I’m still having trouble really differentiating the Lynx and Hot Cat. The Lynx is higher gain or just doesn’t have a clean channel like the Hot Cat?
I would think of it like this. If there's a 3 channel amp, with clean, crunch and mega... The Lynx is crunch and mega (both have massive gain), the Hot Cat has clean and crunch. The Lynx can't do clean, but it can do smooth soaring lead tones and massive crunch. The Hot Cat does everything from clean to crunch, but the chunk doesn't go quite as aggressive as the Lynx.
