    Mess with the air mixture screw. Turning in richens the mixture turning out leans the mixture. If your out more then 21/2 turns you need to richen the pilot jet. Also raising the slide needle will richen and lowering it will lean it out . Check the spark plug too . Clean the ignition pickup behind the flywheel, if it's dirty it can mess with spark.

    Good to see it running. That is one of my favorite years for the Honda CR125. Have a few trophies on the mantle from that year CR125. Sounds good. Running strong. Just reroute the Front Brake line to the inside of the Fork Leg and she is good to go. Should certainly be faster than Charlie's Honda CR125. I already can tell a drag race is in the works.

    • @briankennedy5578
      @briankennedy5578 4 роки тому +2

      @2vintage , if you shift gears and the sound doesnt change(rpm drop slightly) or if the rpms increase and you don't increase speed , you're slipping. It did sound like it could have been slipping. You hit about 3 gears and it sounded exactly the same each time. A weak clutch can give the illusion that its grabbing. Has enough to feel it pull. But if its working correctly you will know the difference. If a 2 stroke is running right and you got it wide open, the front wheel should have very little if any contact with the ground.

    Tbh, premium gas in a small 2stroke is not only a waste of money, but it also hinders performance. The bike depends on fuel scavenging from the expansion chamber and when u use premium u risk predetonation. Not trying to b a no it all by any means. I just often share what lil knowledge I have on the subject. My favorite 2stroke by far tho, love the 90’s cr’s.

    • @codyjoseph44
      @codyjoseph44 4 роки тому +1

      Uhhh what? Lower octane fuel definitely has a higher risk of predetonation. Running straight race gas would be a waste, but you should not run anything lower than premium pump gas. That thing would be pinging for sure on regular 87

    32:1 would haven better little bit of smoke and it don’t get broke. are you sure it was even shifting past 4th gear? clutch slip. but ur best effort yet

    People put the petcock on backwards to prevent the petcock from getting damaged in a crash

    U need to mix it fat, not lean. 18:1 instead of 40:1 for a break in

    • @bubaa1218
      @bubaa1218 4 роки тому

      Wtf are you talking about you should run 30:1 for break in not 18:1

    • @tvandee
      @tvandee 4 роки тому +1

      @@bubaa1218 18:1 has more oil to live shit up and make it run better. I've rebuilt 3 rm125s and ran 32:1 while normally driving them

    Clutch is slipping, idle is a little high and needs proper jetting. It spits and sputters, doesn't rev smoothly into the power band. Fix jetting and clutch then you will really see how it can rip.
