I know there is a TON of anime out there that I didn't cover, so if there are scenes from animes you'd like me to react to please let me know down in the comments and I'll get to it in a future episode!
I also wanted to clarify that I KNOW many of you are annoyed that I reacted to the English dubs and that you prefer watching with the original Japanese VO. I get it. The reason I do that is because I've learned over the years these videos become kind of unwatchable when you're forced to read English subtitles... while listening to Japanese voices... while listening to my voice... while reading on screen text... at the quick speed the videos play at... and with many of you turning on captions anyway. It's sensory overload. So, no need to angry comments about captions, I understand! And hopefully now you see why I did it this way.

I am SHOCKED that MHA hasn’t been brought up from the amount of injuries in that show from Midoriya’s many broken bones, Dabi’s scars, All Might’s injuries, all of Aizawa’s injuries, the list goes on! ESPECIALLY with the newest season out. 😅

I feel like it's important to recognise that spiders can be lethal in some places. I'm from Australia so it's probably not best to mess around with them

@@itsmetaphor2153 Since I recently heard a podcast about black widows, I wanted to back up Dr. Mike here and say you're only technically correct.
Granted, there's lots of black widow species, maybe you're thinking of a particular one. The bites are certainly much more dangerous for young, old, or imuno-compromised people, but also very survivable.
From a quick search, the American Association of Poison Control Centers data from 2013 shows that out of almost 1,900 reported bites, only 14 people had severe issues and there were no deaths.

6:45 AOT actually went a little bit into the science of titans for a bit, pointing out that they're actually really light for their size, a normal person could pick up the head of a five meter titan on their own, so they have a much lower density than normal people, which would allow for their massive sizes.
interesting.
Titan's should get blown away just by wind due to the much lower density while at the same time having a much larger surface area.
@@alukata9763 they are not that light
@@MrAhmed42069 it's not just about the weight, it's a matter of forces.
Wind does exert a certain preassure. preassure x surface area = force.
So the bigger the surface area, the bigger the force exerted by the wind.
Let's assume a titan has twice the size and twice the surface area of a human but only 1.3 times the mass.
so while the wind may attack a surface area of 1m² at a human it's 2m² at a titan.
a strong breeze has a force of 71-117N/m².
a 80kg human has a downwards force of about 800N.
A 104kg Titan 1040N.
Sure, a strong breeze won't cause a titan to lift of. However a storm with with 520+ N/m² would cause a straight standing titan to take off.
A strong breeze would exert about the same force on a titan as a gale onto a human.
Wind is gonna be a major issue for titans.
Yeah it was a cool hint to what titans are but with physics in mind it shouldn't make sense. But physics also don't account for 50 feet giants in a fantasy world so who knows. Probably why VS series tend to ignore Titan weights

It's really interesting what Dr Mike said about pupil dilation when someone is fearful, because in anime, you often (almost universally) see characters' pupils shrink in situations of shock/horror/fear - to the point where a close-up of constricting pupils is used as an indicator that **bee-woop** about to go down. 👀
Talking about medical scenes in anime, there's an anime that released last year that I'd love to see you react to. chant NAM MYO HO REN GE KYO this is only way to be happy convert to nichiren shoshu
Can you please tell what is the lethal voltage? Because I did my country’s national electrical safety course and test and we were told it’s the amps. All the treshholds from 50mA to 500mA and what the symptoms are and stuff. No mention of the effects voltage has on humans.
That said, in 99% of cases 120v wall outlet is not gonna electrocute anyone. Human capacitance is too high to arch across your body unless you are very small or (literally) thin skin in both exposed parts and are very unlucky.
@@XXXkazeXXXentirely depends on what points of contact are being made. If you are holding the positive and natural ends of a cable connected to a wall, it needs a lot of voltage to arch through you, 120v likely won't, the more calluses you have on your hand, the more capacitance it will need to overcome as well (which is why electricians typically aren't scared of being shocked by live wires, since they have thick calluses typically), that goes down if you have moisture on your skin but still, even for 220-240v outlets, it's very rare to arch across your heart.
Ultimately though, that's the only reasonable threat. Circuit breakers will break before household electricity will burn you to death or anything.
The current from electrical poles and whatnot is a whole different story though. You don't even need to touch both ends for that to kill you, it can arch straight through you to earth and light you on fire in seconds.
@4:00 definitely true with steroids. I have to take them for health reasons and I've had to now struggle with blood pressure and high RBC / hemocrit levels (increased risk for clots) and I'm on a super low does (barely getting me into normal T range as a result.

5:20 Yes, but the voltage only needs to be high enough to surpass your skin's resistance which, in most cases, it is. Only 30mA can induce ventricular fibrilliation, for example.

Aw man, the best part of that Dragonball scene is the dialogue. "You missed my vital organs."

Fun fact: people don't die from spider bites unless they're infants or elderly AND are badly allergic. Spiders don't use their venom for defense which is why it's not deadly. It's strictly to kill and digest insects.
However some spiders, like the brown recluse and black widow, will require medical attention to both mitigate symptoms and scarring. Spider bites kill literally less than a few people per year but the recovery from bites can be very painful.

I'm i newish electrician and work on a building with 277v circuits. I can tell you that's its MOSTLY the amps that kill you. I have taken 277v into my hand and up my arm(lock-out tag-out is important) but thanks to how i was set up all i got was some tingling in my arm. i was on the 6th floor and a 3ft fiberglass a-frame ladder so I was not grounded; that means my body had a higher resistance(ohms) than the wire it was coming from. I was in the process of disconnecting it meaning the circuit was still complete and i wasn't part of it so I probably got less than 5miliamps of current. Now I think, but wont test, that if the energy got to something vital(heart, brain, ect.) instead of just my arm/muscles it would've caused real problems. TLDR: Voltage is the amount of energy present, Amperage is how fast it moves. you cant have one with out the other and it takes less Amperage than voltage to hurt/kill you

"You can't kill him"
Legit this is what every monster thinks, if they even get the chance to fight Saitama.
Least liked comment from this guy!
Definitely @@danielyaseen
Never thought you’d be reacting to anime, but this was really cool!
He has reacted to cells at work 😅
The poison from that demon is a "Blood Demon Art" at 1:41
You should totally analyze 'RE: Zero starting life in another world'. I've always wondered if it's medically accurate, especially the Great Rabbit scene since Subaru was alive for so long.
If they do a part 2 of this, I would love to see Dr. Mike react/analyze all the injuries that Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu and Tengen got during their battle with the Upper 6 Demon in the Red Light District (i.e Tanjiro's Fingers Breaking and stabbed through the mouth, Insouke Stabbed in the Chest, Tengen slashed in the eye and losing a hand etc.)
Agree ON this one Pls doctor Mike
He said he’s a anime noob in the beginning but yea I wished he would react to that
Don't forget Jojo
Where is Jojo? It’s full of chop in half and donuts
Let's all be honest. We just want Doctor Mike to react to anime without all the medical stuff being explained.
YESSS
nahhhh the fact that he explains the medical stuff is so much more entertaining
Yes, yes, fine, you got me
shh, dont expose us.
But everyone does that
Can you make a video on just AOT/SNK? Its my favorite anime and it think it has alot of different medical scenes! I would also love if you did saiki k, but that doesnt have very many medical scenes. Loved the video!
It would be awesome if you could react and explain the injuries in the anime "Karakuri circus" 🤩
7:28 Fun Fact: erens moms leg wasnt crushed she was lying to Eren to make him run (you can see this that her legs are ok when she gets picked up by the titan)
I wondered about that for so long.
Maybe not crushed but they still can be broken
bro what
@@David-ws8bo her legs are moving
@@cesruhf2605 doesnt mean her legs arent broken??
I was expecting at least one scene from Fullmetal Alchemist, like the one where we see Edward getting his right arm reattached to an automail prosthetic. If part two comes along, have Dr. Mike judge Edward's famous disgust toward milk. Maybe also analyze the villain with a tattoo on his tongue.
I wanted that scene where the chimeras help Ed get that iron bar out of his chest
should we make him watch the forbidden dog scene lol
@@animeadik96 Let's not scar him.....
@Green Apple *"Ed...ward?"* I still get shivers down my spine, remembering that one scene. 😬 💀
"thats a scull fracture until proven otherwise for me" got me laughing so hard for no reason
I and many other patients hate that spirometry machine for breathing. It sucks when you have to use it.
For the “oh you got bit by a spider now you’re gonna become one”, that’s not due to the bite itself. It’s due to the Blood Demon Art (a supernatural unique ability for a demon that one obtains after eating a certain number of humans).
For Mitsuki being literally blue, nobody quite knows why. He’s a clone of Orochimaru, who has been pale as hell for, well, his whole life. Never given an explanation, just put out there, possibly for differentiation.
For Boruto screaming in pain, that is impressive. A trained shinobi, especially a part Uzumaki (one quarter Uzumaki, to be precise), has some incredible pain tolerance. For a trained shinobi to be *screaming* in pain, it would take some SERIOUS damage. Then again it could just be there for emphasis and for funnies.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Edit: Oh and that green magicky glow thing from the doctor is medical ninjutsu, which uses chakra, making it physically impossible for someone like Rock Lee or Might Duy.
Lol
Lol

My son watches Demon Slayer, so I immediately recognized the episode
He's even concerned for the man-eating giant monster wreaking havoc. Truly an amazing doctor
Anyone else want dr mike to react to dr stone? (I for one would love that, favorite anime, for the most part scientifically accurate, minus the whole petrification thing, and a decent amount of injuries to be looked over)
Aron is a titan making him amuse to all injury
I usually don't really like biology, but I really like the way you teach through animes. I mean it lowkey makes me want to learn something medical related.
blud turned on dub sob
Deruu Riota? Deadly Seven Inside me is it? Ini salah satu kreator asli kah? Atau pakai profilnya aja? 😅
I would love to see Dr. Mike take a look at every injury in MHA, mostly the All Might one at the start of the series, and the Izuku vs Flect Turn injuries in the 3rd movie(lasers through the body MULTIPLE times(also happened in the 2nd movie as well...), face forcefully dragged across the floor, arms broken from enough strength to shatter a mountain from the inside, etc etc).
Would be interesting to know exactly how the human body would actually react going the speed of light that Izuku was going at the end of the fight in the 3rd movie, or even the speed that he was going during the final fight in the 2nd movie. Honestly seeing him take a look at all the injuries from the movies would just be a treat, honestly, but primarily the All Might one in the 1st episode, and the ones in the 3rd movie
That would literally take a whole video lol.. I completely agree awesome idea!
No that would take 70 videos
I kinda wanna gather all the medical scenes of MHA that I can find so that way he has no excuse to not react to them
Yes!!! That and some of the Deadman Wonderland ones I would love to see
my guy, bakugo should be dead after the third movie. The battle with those twins should have been the dead of him but THANK GOD he's still here
*Spoiler alert*
he actually dies on chapter 361 of the manga. Even tho, they say he's gonna be revieved
I genuinely want Dr. Mike to watch the whole Attack on Titan series just to hear him explain everything “medical” about their deaths 😭
For the Spider Comment, Thank you for Specifying North America (though black widows exist here too) I feel you should of atleast mentioned Australia and how they 'should' be scared of Spiders in Australia.
