The best part about this video is that he is cleaning basically a brand new fork that already looks fresh so it looks effortless.
Yes, ineer parts are perfectly clean and new, makes no sense.
@SleepyclaN Zz most of the rust is on the crown race which you can replace. Whatever left that is on thr steering tube is minor. There is no problem
👍👍👍👍
I need this guy to rebuild my bike.
Haha
Actually , i also need this guy to rebuild my bike as well
Also
Ok
Ok
This is basically the only thing I go to the bike shop for.
Things like brake bleeding and derailleur adjustments I can handle myself, but this one.. damn.
Still quite informative though. 😆
Watching this video actually lowered my blood pressure, very relaxing n therapeutic.
A very thorough tutorial, and just goes to show how important front fork servicing really is. Thanks for sharing.

This bike didn't need maintenance. Just look how clean and neat everything looks!
It's a demo/tutorial... better to show what it should look like rather than what it shouldn't
Thank you. Your video helped me... determine that I should take my bike to a qualified bike mechanic.

I serviced my 2006 Tora SL following this tutorial. Very helpful. Thank you!
LOL the difference in the lock out knob from 13:17 to 13:19 . I'm guessing external snap ring pliers were not used
Best comment lol
Best 10 bucks I ever spent!
This flick is totally hypnotizing.
Man, you're awesome! what a nice turtorial, you took away my fear. Let's do it!
Even after ten years, this clip proves helpful - in my case not only for it being the tutorial I just needed but on top of it for helping identifying some parts in my Tora SL from visible part numbers in your video - as SRAM tends to be a bit cryptic on what parts actually fit my SL solo air fork. Thank you profoundly! :)
Please tell the rest of us what parts were identified?, I didn't see the name of a single part that was identified, you didn't even watch it did ya?, lol
@@jerryb1234 troll someone else, will ya?
Good recovery, sick biker. I hope you won t be sick one day.
Very informative and satisfying video. Thanks :)
this guy makes amazing videos. Seriously, I watch a ton of tutorial style videos. This is the best of them.
I have coil suspension on my giant
I watched your coil suspension video and I’m just here for the sake of it
Great video thanks, watched this to strip my 2010 Revelation Race. Some differences on the internals but not massively. Ready to have new seals fitted and be re-assembled tomorrow, hoping that will sort out my leaking negative chamber!
Cool, do this overhaul from time to time and the fork will run smoothly for years.
@@cannondany Turned out nothing was wrong with any seals, the foam on the positive air piston had completely dried out and that seemed to be causing the leak. Re-oiled and regreased and it's all running smoothly again :)
4:31 Dust seals must be replaced every 50 hours.
If you dont do it, you are risking the failure of the dust seal where the spring seats.
That will result in a direct contact between spring and upper leg.
If this happens when you are riding, then you are going to have an upper leg scratched by the spring since the leg will be moving up and down against the spring.
Dust seals are not to be inspected just by looking.... You cannot see their internal material fatigue.
You got to remove it every 50hrs in order to avoid this particular damage of the plastic spring seat being bended / taken away / broken by the spring ....
The 50hrs kit is there not to avoid it. It is there to buy it for some reasons.
Good luck!
What a spectacular tutorial. Loved it. Thank you!
As soon as minutes 7:01, I changed my mind for DIY. Great video! Thanks
Really doesn’t look very difficult. Good video I’m positive I can do it myself now
You did
Finally I found just what I was looking for, thankyouthankyouthankyou -
Excellent, seeing it being done helps clarify some of the diagram manual instructions.
Great video. Gave me just what I needed 👌🤙
Am I the only one who is watching this just for satisfaction?????
Yes
This is a satisfying video.
fantastic video. onto my first service now ;-) man you rock!!!
love the adjustable spanner
the music put my to sleep i woke up it was over
And da beat was mean while he did it!! 😎👍🤝🤘
Very intuitive video thanks a lot.keep up the good work
Very good detail, many thanks.
OK that was insane. I've never taken shocks apart, I thought it was as easy as adding oil to the top. Lol
Chill background music 😎
Ótimo video!
ajudou muito para muitos que não tem conhecimento de como fazer uma manutenção completa como essa. Parabéns.
Much easier than you'd think. Take your time. Makes for a smoooth operating fork! big difference if oil is old. There aren't parts that are easily put in backwards, dropped, springs that jump out and that kind of thing. Easy out, easy in. I've done a few (RS Blackbox, Foxes, all easy enough, even if you are, like me, not mechanically inclined). Revise that "tap gently with mallet," to "beat the snot out of that bolt," as that is sometimes the case, it slowly works loose after many medium taps.
Good job and it's alwas surprising how smooth even these cheaper forks like the Tora, XC32 and Recon are after a complete service. The solo Air spring hasn't changed remarkably since then, nowadays they just come with grease. I always use both grease snd some drops of oil for the air chamber.
Yikes! I used to take Sony Walkmans & turntables apart, repair them and put them back together. This is pretty much the same. Not going back to that!. But kudos to the tech who is demonstrating this. More than "good job" -- WOW!
I recommend anyone attempting to do this to video yourself so you can get all the parts back in the correct order.
You are a female so no you didn't
YUKI JINJUJI - Wow.
Very good clear neumatik and cleaning and lubricating
Outstanding. Thank you.
i watched the entire thing and i dont even own a bike
Dammm
This suspension is so satisfying
Made it look so easy ,👍
really nice video, keep up the good work!
i had to giggle a little bit when seeing the scratched damper cap (?) after removing the clamp :D
It is a very hard work cleaning a very clean fork ha!!
PROFESSIONAL.
Very nice work dude!
Great demonstration, Thanks 👍💖🌷🙏
Great video, I've been servicing MTB shocks for ages even before the days of UA-cam. From Rockshox Judy DH, to Rockshox Jett, Dart, etc. Manitou as well . For the Rockshox Judy they have a special slider lube called Judy butter. Pretty much the same lubes as shown in the video. Rockshox recommends staying away from lithium based lubricants.
so is it the same process cleaning the older rock shox forks?? I got two 90s Zaskars with bad Rock Shox forks that I would like to try to rebuild. Thanks!
@@AngelRodriguez-kg9bz It is depending what style. Some of them have gas struts which others don't. Some gas strut Assemblies are rebuildable while others are sealed and require replacement. However if your down tubes are pitted slightly or missing chrome, or the coating, it's better to replace the whole fork. Some rebuildable gas forks require nitrogen instead of air.
@@Ecksterphono thanks... I think mine are just spring loaded... No gas so I think it's just disassembling them and seeing if something is broken
I need this guy to rebuild my bike 🚲
Thanks for sharing this informative content keep it up.
The Video is satisfying
I will go to the bicycle engineer shop and say : SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY ! Do it for me 🤣🤣🤣
Same to😂😂
good video, amazed you are using an adjustable spanner aka nutbuggerer get the right sizes FTW
Good job man
Okay,,, we get it,,,, clean the fork!!!
I saw what you did to the blue lockout cap, you should really invest in retaining ring pliers for seeger/safety ring removal. :)))
scratched abit lol
This is extremely helpful
In the fork suspension in schwinn bikes I use baby oil 20ml each side. Work perfectly.
2 wheels carry our soul! It's a very nice video, I'm an electric mountain bike rider, I live in the Netherlands, I'm still waiting for my new channel. Good luck with my love.....
best video for service - thnks
Very detailed, thanks a lot
13:15 didn't have a spring removal tool eh? damn... o.O LOL
Yeah, notice that too, lol
Forced with a screwdriver....
It’s like taking apart a pen and assembling it again
Thanks for give me this idea
This is the sexiest service video ever! Good stuff, thks for posting.
Very detailed video, thanks for uploading. Warning, music is NSFW, lol.
Я так переживал за сальники, когда он протирал вилку внутри.

If you ever try to do something to Ukraine we and NATO will destroy you
Hello! Thank you!
Good Job 👍
0:30 The spray cans noise and the background music melody are the same
nah bro
@@thatbikeguy4800 you a bitch
yes, it's the rhythm that matches. cool, thanks for the spot!
do not use oil for air springs, use calcium grease instread
do not remove rebound rod if all okay, because you can damage seal o-ring and oil from damper will leaks to the lowers while riding
Well done
Great video
Im going to do this what could go wrong.
100% efectivo!!!!
Oh thank you so much. I am going to do this to my forks in a couple of weeks and I did not find any good videos on UA-cam and this helped so much!! It would be better is you spoke in it.
Nice information
Very informative, clear and w/o unnecessary fluff; nice music too. I'm wondering: is the shock pressure specific per shock/model or is there a general pressure range the shocks should be pumped to?
Dziekuje kolego.
I have no idea, i have a rockshox argyle 409 and i ride mine on like 225 psi. It's a dirt jumper fork. not super stiff tho but it sounds like that at that pressure. it's perfect for me now.
It depends on your weight. There are online calculators available.
I have to do the first Service on my Zeb Ultimate soon, i am more than Uncomfortable doing it myself...
Bit less after this Vid, but the Intenals are bit more coplicated :/
How are they compared to a lyrik? Check out GMBN vids too 👍
Good job man hagura man
Thank u to show this i also have same problam
good
BUENOSIMO ME ENCANTO A ESO HAY QUE CUIDARLO COMO ORO VES UN EJEMPLO
Thanks allot, really great video
Ilya Voldman
Great vid dude the only things I’d do differently would probably change all seals once I’d gone to the trouble of a full strip down, for what they cost. Also never go near a seal with a knife if your planning on re-using. Still good work man
Thanks Danny. To be honest - it is really rare for me to replace the seals on my forks. And the knife - it's my good old friend ;)
I’de rather pay for the service than dismantling my fork... 🤪🤣🍻
Good👍
It is better to take the dust seals (if they havent steal compound) out with standard key about size 24 with rag to not scratch inner tube and the seal. Aand i think it is awlays good to apply think layer of the silicone on the o ring allaround (not just from outside )
Excellant video. Perfect for my manitou mars elite.
Ah, I see I didn't know what cleaning meant. Silly me.
Muito legal
Awesome video! Can you do a rear shock next?
Holy crap, one of the most relaxing videos I've seen ever. Thx for sharing, now I can dare to care for my forks. Keep it up 👍
hi folks just find out how to assemble the damper and it was hard to figure out.IMO dont take apart the damper. No need for that just change the upper and lower seals of the damper.
Hi how did you assemble the damper i got problems that the lockout wont work.
mesmerising music and i lost in the songs of machines
U are proficional bro
Great video- for the poploc/compression rebound damper service and rebuild, I have the identical one in my Silver TK. I’m having an issue where after reassembly of the damper in the fork, and re-attached cable to the spool (remote version) it is NOT locking out. I’m thinking I’ve messed something up with the reassembly of the sub components in the Compression Damper. Any help would be appreciated.
