When they played in Rio, the band had been together for almost 30 years and had never played in Brazil. For those fans, this was something they’d waited a lifetime for. I saw them about 10 times, and met them very briefly after a gig in 1980. Neil’s loss crushed me. You must check out Neil’s Frankfurt solo. You’re mind will be blown. There is no studio version. You will thank me I promise.
@@gsxrkz Yeah, I love Floyd and seen them a few times myself. No doubt a great show. Maybe I should put it this way, best power trio live? Regardless, both are legendary bands.
Rush Army in the house 🙋🏼♀️ A couple things - you wondered if Neil practiced a lot. The answer is oh hell yes!! Every single day Neil woke with the attitude he could get better. Even as good as he was he continued to take lessons earlier on. He was a perfectionist but also one of the most humble men ever. Keep in mind he also wrote the lyrics to many of these songs. Always remember YYZ is pronounced Y-Y-Zed. If you go back & listen to the first few seconds you'll hear Neil playing the letters YYZ spelled out in Morse code. Alex heard the airport call sign when he flew into the Toronto International Airport near their hometown & it stuck with him. The Rio crowd was epic! Only Rush fans can sing a song with no lyrics. I could go on all day about Rush but this is already too long. 🤩 Keep going live - you'll love it. For their masterpiece instrumental sit back & listen to "La Villa Strangiato". Studio is actually my preferred on it so you can hear every detail.
The crowd was singing along to an instrumental. That says it all right there. Rush had great lyrics in their songs, but their music really stood out. If you want to see something neat , check out a crowd at a Green Day show singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Amazing!
I love seeing you guys with your happy faces and jaw dropped while discovering RUSH :DD because i felt the same over 20 years ago when hearing RUSH for the first time.. Magical band! I hope more to come for you of discovering them.

My favourite music memory - we saw Rush Live in the London O2 and were sat in one of the viewing boxes. When Geddy sang 'concert hall' in spirit of radio, all the lights went up and we saw the entire arena cheering. A cherished memory ❤️RIP Neil xx
The guitarist Alex Lifeson, is so under-rated. The bassist, Geddy Lee had his solo throughout the song, like George said, but so did Alex. His guitar is often the foundation of the songs. Geddy was awesome though! Such talent in this band! Love you guys! Always look forward to your videos.
I was fortunate to see Rush in concert back in Oct. 2010 when Rush was on their Time Machine tour. Their stop was in an amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Only Rush can make Morse code sound good. YYZ is the IATA airport identification code of Toronto Pearson International Airport, near Rush's hometown. The band was introduced to the rhythm as Alex Lifeson flew them into the airport. A VHF omnidirectional range system at the airport broadcasts the YYZ identifier code in Morse code. Peart said in interviews later that the rhythm stuck with them. Peart and Geddy Lee have both said "It's always a happy day when YYZ appears on our luggage tags
One of the best live performances ever recorded. Rush was always at the top of their game. Since Neil’s passing, I can’t watch a live performance w/o getting teary-eyed.
Wow, this is incredible, they are such talented musicians and Neil Peart was such an amazing drummer and completely surrounded by drums - it's great to watch and listen to! The other two are fab as well - what an superb band they were - many thanks for reacting to this, guys, much appreciated!

Thank you guys for this one! Let's get to their great music. Anything from 2112, A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves, Power Windows, Presto, Roll the Bones. They will be in your thoughts as the greatest band of all time.
NOW... YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHY RUSH HAS BEEN MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL-TIME FOR MY LAST 40 YEARS❤️ They only have about a hundred more songs for you to enjoy getting blown away over. IMPOSSIBLE TO CHOOSE one talent over an other in this band because they are EACH, EQUALLY, 1000% MASTERS at their musicianships. **Its literally IMPOSSIBLE to choose which songs to recommend over others to you. If you can’t decide where to start, just close your eyes and point to one of their lists and pick one that way. You’ll NEVER go wrong. And if something doesn’t appeal to you totally at first, I PROMISE YOU, if you FORCE yourself to re-listen to it a couple more times, NO MATTER WHAT THE SONG, you WILLLL start to like it by the 3rd time and in the end, end up LOVING IT just like allll the others. If you listen to one of their songs literally 100 times, you WILL always hear something somewhere you NEVER heard allllll the other times before-- even after DECADES of listening to it. Their lyrics area KEY COMPONENT to LIKING most of their songs (believe it or not- even though they are phenomenal musicians... just TRUST) 4. Now, you are ready to enjoy them LIVE!
