My HD 38 has been a complete nightmare!!!!! Major problems getting the cable system to pull level and the yoke bolts have about 1.5" difference showing on the threads. One thing I just noted in your video is when you installed the non-operator side cone, you pushed it toward the flange and not toward the bearing. I have to go back and look at my manual, I thought it said to push both cones toward the bearing. THAT COULD BE MY PROBLEM> I have sent emails with pictures to Trevor and he has never addressed the issue!
You made me check the manual but there is not a brake on the HD 38 it is all held by the motor. My Fronter OS27 has the break so I know what you are talking about. I looked thru the parts that I still need to install, and don't see any brake parts. I wonder if you need to remove the brake from the HD36 when you add the power lift?
I emailed Trevor over at Norwood here is his response There is not a separate brake in the motor it is held in place just with the magnets & another reason its so important the battery be properly charged.

James, email Dave Boyt. He may be able to help you. He’s easy to find on UA-cam.
You forgot your winch shaft braking system
