Norwood should provide a detailed DVD as part of the package to assist with the assembly, this is a good video, I have the LM29v2 ordered, The instruction book won't cut it like the video.

Nice job putting it together. A lot of parts, but this video and reading the manual several times helps.

I had to build the mill anyway. Just set the camera on a tripod & did a little editing. By the way, I enjoyed your web site and the videos on milling and surfacing that huge red oak log. The HD 36 can slab up to 32" wide. I've salvaged some sycamore 46" diameter, quartered it with the chain saw, then slabbed out the quarters on the sawmill so that I could joint them & edge glue them back together to make a wide slab. About 90% of what I cut is urban lumber, and I've hit some pretty interesting metal (including bullets in a log that came from a residential area of nearby Joplin, MO). I hauled my mill down to Jacksonville to demonstrate for a Tree Farm conference a few years back & cut some nice cypress. If you're ever passing through southwest Missouri, drop me a line (dboyt.42@gmail.com).

Thank you for this video series, it show the quality and detail that a Norwood Mill has. Do you also have a video showing all the hydraulic options?

Thanks for the video, Dave! It's much better than the manual, in my opinion. I have assembled my HD36V2 carriage and it is binding when raised or lowered. What could I have out of wack?

This is a good video of rhe assembly of the HD-36. Norwood should have a video to send with the delivery of new sawmills along with the assembly book. I've been searching for the same trype of video of the assembly of ther LM-29, which I'm soon going to order, but a bit worried about the assembly process of this mill. Is the assembly of the carroage and saw head much the same as that on the HD-36 ??

Hi Brian. There are similarities between the two models but there are differences as well. The instructions are very step by step. Thousands of people have assembled their mills smoothly.

@@NorwoodsawmillsDirect - Norwood should have done like Caterpillar did with equipment, the Cat D-11, D-10, D-9, D-8, 7 & 6, all identical, just the size difference, it would have been so much simpler, one video for the biggest model like the HD-36 and all other modes/sizes would have went together the same way. One video for all sizes..

Once the clutch is installed, the guide asks to tighten two Allan head screws onto the drive shaft which are located behind the clutch. Should the clutch be left to the front or back of shaft? And how did you reach the Allen head set bolts all the way up behind the guards?

Ahmed, several possible reasons and not possible for us to diagnose with the info you have given us or via this medium. Your belt could be too tight, or your throttle cable not properly adjusted, or the clutch could be wearing, etc ... Best thing is to call the tech support team on Monday. Where are you located?

May have powder coating. Yeah like none of the back 8 bolts will even start in any of them. I mean 8 of 16 isnt bad I guess. God forbid you spend 10 grand and not have to deal with that
