    Just had my '21 SG in Gun Metal Grey delivered Saturday. Impressed. Zero vibration essentially. Mirrors stay perfectly still. Front brake surprised me how good it was. A tad grabby but, that's probably it's new rider! Now that the engine is essentially part of the frame being mounted directly to it (rubber mounts gone), it feels (to me anyway) very stiff. In a good way. This coming from the perspective of someone who hasn't ridden in 45 years! Yup. That was also the last time on the pillon of an HD too. I remember how that bike was brutal. A real vertabrae fuser. This bike was light years more refined. I was on some back roads with light twisties after only 6 miles in the saddle. I now get why I see big vtwin riders in that sweet spot of 45-60. In 6th gear it just picks it up from slow! To me? That's just amazing. My wife is the one who one day while visiting the local HD dealership "You're leaving with a bike today"!! No lie. I was looking at a Sportster. Trying to spend as little as possible. My wife....my wife....directed myself and the sales guy to the SG. I'd not heard of them. Even though I had not been riding, I was still very much a bike junkie. I started looking it over. So many checkboxes in my mind were being ticked off. Walked out with it that day. That was 13 days ago. I have to give credit where it's due. My feet still haven't touched ground. I'm 65 but you'd never know it watching me. HD did this bike right. Exhaust is a tad weak. I'm definitely getting some slip ons and a better seat for my wife....er......my Queen!

    I was on the fence between a low rider st and a sport glide. Decided to go with the less mainstream sport glide a month ago and completely happy with it. My bike already had a larger memphis shades installed. I agree that would be the first thing to upgrade.

      So sad that the sport glide is now discontinued in the US.

      @@GenZBiker Yea it is. 18-21 kind of short lived. I got an 18 with low miles. Its like the guy only kept it in his garage for show. I also have a hayabusa so I’m content with both. No more bikes for awhile for me.

    Sport Glide for the win! Should still be in the lineup with an engine upgrade (at least). The non-mainstream reason is spot on. Stand out, not in.
    If u get a moment check the video I just released with my two cents why it should still be around instead of that Low Rider ST.

    Love my SG. 14k miles. Going more club style with mine. Blacked out motor, 2-1 exhaust, T bars, K style front & rear crash guards. 1.75” shock extension. (Much better corner clearance) tall dark tint Gustafsson windshield on stock fairing. Solo seat. Scraped my license plate the other day for the first time. Stage 3 114ci full HD warranty using Harley tuner & S&S EPA pipe made 116 HP.
    Dig the LRS but not the mid pegs, missing quick change fairing & bags, cruise control, phone charger, ABS etc. Sport Glide sales are strong in our area but still out sold by LRS. The SG stands out!

    Good points, but I would go LowRider S or ST over this SportGlide, no brainer.
    No one did mention this, the Sport-glide have it is 107 engine tuned down = less HP, take this into consideration.

    I've test ridden both bikes and preferred the Lowrider S so much that I went out and bought one and then within about 6 weeks upgraded the engine to the screaming eagle 131 and I am quite happy with it. When I decide to get a stripped down bagger style motorcycle it will be the Electra Glide Standard and I will do some heavy motor work in that 1 as well. Can you say PERFORMANCE BAGGER.

    GenZ did a great review. I bought a Sport Glide in May (my first Harley) and love it. Just want to mention that the Low Rider S comes with a 114 motor, dual front discs and an analog tach. SG has a digital tach. The 107 has tons of power and most of the 114 power comes in at top end so it is questionable how usable it is IMO. The convenience of the side bags is awesome. The left bag is a little larger because it doesn’t have to deal with the exhaust pipes like on the right. I put a chrome HD quick releases luggage rack and sissy bar so it is a great touring bike with wife on back. Easy to park and maneuver around tiny in town restaurant/bar parking lots. These bikes are kind of rare in US dealerships so you might have to wait around for one if you are picky with the color. You will see Sport Glides all over Europe.

      @@bebopredux I actually just have the stock seat and pillion but bought the HD Road Zepplin Seat Pad - Passenger ($150) from their website. Not like riding on a Road or Street Glide but it is good for her on a 2 hour ride.

    The Sport Glide mini-fairing is unique and why I like it.
    It’s nimble, inverted front shocks, cruise-control & abs standard, usb plug, detachable bags & fairing etc.
    More power than you can handle but easy stage 1&2 upgrades exhaust, breather & cam will set this sleeper on fire, better than the S & ST in my opinion, better price.
    A light & nimble Sport Touring sleeper with awesome DNA.

    I'm 5'4", I originally thought the forward controls were going to be too far forward. Once I put some ciro mini floorboards it totally changed the feel for the better. I would say it makes a great short person bike also. Skip the sportster!

    • @zeroy042
      @zeroy042 3 роки тому +1

      The sport glide also has a narrowed transmission, helping out shorter riders! This is also the same reason you can't put mids on the SG.

    I've owned 16 street bikes of various brands and types. Overall, this is probably the 2nd best. It is the best Harley-Davidson I've had. I am very pleased with this bike. I don't see many of them and, after market parts are not abundant.

    Never mind that the touring stuff is quick detach, first and foremost, it comes with it for the price of entry. Though in reality, one would need an aftermarket screen to get any real wind protection for longer, higher speed travel.
    It's also not all black which is a godsend in these days of look alike machines.
    The one problem with it as I recall, is the wheels are an unusual size, so tire choices may be limited and prices higher that avg.
    BTW, love that particular color scheme.

    HD should exchange the names of these 2 bikes. The "Sport" in the Sport Glide is missing: Dual front brakes (can't ride sporty if you can't stop fast enough), Mid-controls (sport riding needs to have the controls as close under your feet for quicker maneuvering), a 114 (riding sporty requires that extra power). The Sport Glide should have been named something like "Fun Glide", "Soft Glide", or "Easy Glide"...

    • @feloniousmonk3049
      @feloniousmonk3049 10 місяців тому

      In 2018, when it was released, there weren't many 114's in the lineup, that came later in 2020 in the LRS. It was confusing buying a Heritage Classic with a 107 or a 114, as well as a couple of other models..
