They really dropped the ball by not putting double bindings on that Tele body IMHO. Would've made for the best looking Tele in all of Fender's lineup with those inlays.
Agreed, nonetheless its a belter! I think the bigger mistake is using the big dopey 70's headstock on the Strat its literally a deal breaker for me and i really like it from the nut down too 😕
I got a demo model while shopping at Sweetwater a few days ago. I probably wouldn't have had I not seen and played it in person. Now I can't put it down! I got the Seafoam green with the anodized pickguard. It looks amazing and plays amazing, it sits next to a 2004 limited run 50th anniversary Strat and a 2008 MIM Standard on my multi stand and it has no shame!!! I also own a Classic Vibe Tele that is to die for so... Squier has the goods!!!
Bought one of the orange Teles. Love it as it’s cheap enough to mod and do stuff without being precious about it. Sanded the neck (made is so playable) switched pick ups but want to put some Monty’s in but the biggest difference was changing the saddles for intonated brass ones. It sings. Sold my Gibson Les Paul Standard and other expensive guitars and my Squier Tele is just everything I want. Brilliant. Don’t judge by the name peeps. Because my Tele is so great I’m now looking at the Jazzmaster.
My local guitar shop had the Strat that Pete plays on display, and it REALLY caught my eye... and I can't see very well. A lovely finish! May have to get one, just to jazz up my collection and brighten my day.
Yep. I just got mine delivered 2 hours ago. It's a beaut! The Jazzmaster plays great, love the clinky-ness of the bridge pickup! The neck feels great and the anodized gold pickguard is a stunner! Got mine in Olympic White.
Cool concepts! Love the appreciation of the Squire brand. Would love to see Squire get the same respect Epiphone’s been getting lately. Classic vibe is a good line, but I feel like there’s more top of the line room in the brand.

Isn't it the 60th anniversary of the Jaguar this year as well, any chance of an updated Jaguar review video with guitars at all the price points?
Sadly that all they do, ordered 2 and had to return both. HORRIBLE QC. Sharp frets, nut too big, frets super unpolished and no setup done. Ive gotten better affinity's.
On a whim I bought a used Classic Vibe Strat for $200. 2009 model, white with gold anodized pickguard. I kinda hate to say it but my American Standard and Eric Johnson signature model stay in their cases. I actually prefer the Squier!
I had one of those in the same color scheme. CV 50's. I didn't bond with mine, although I wanted to real bad. I think it was the weight, or lack of weight. Although I like light guitars, that one was way too light. It just didn't feel right to me. The quality was very good though. I obviously got rid of it, but I got a Squier Deluxe strat in Blizzard Pearl (I think). It was great and the weight was just right for my tastes. I only got rid of it because I traded it for a player series strat in faded sonic blue with a mint green pick guard. I'm a sucker for that color scheme, and it's a very nice strat as well.
I picked up a used but absolutely mint unplayed Squier 40th anniversary gold edition in that lovely burgundy metallic for a bargain £200. I reckon it's one of the best guitar's I've owned and I've had many custom shop fenders. It's staggeringly well made play's and sounds fantastic.
You guys always motivate me to practice more, and to buy more. Now I have to get one or two of these bad boys. (Probably two) Like you guys, they sound great.
@@guitarmuso1 I thought Lee uses a more budged setup and Pete uses the higher end stuff. Either way you are testing the guitar’s capabilities not the pedals so them using a crappy amp just cause would make no sense..
I have two Squiers a surf green offset paranormal tele and a CV 60s Strat in Lake Placid Blue. I have changed out the pickups in both. I found the stock pickups in both were very brash and had alot of high end. My concern at this price point would you want to throw another 200 in modifying them? I love my two Squiers now I can't put them down but I paid 400 for them
Nice jamming at the start.👍👍. I have some nice higher end guitars, Gibson's ect... However my Squire 72 Thinline holds its own with the best of them. I even read where some players preferred the Squire 72 over it's $800 Fender counterpart. Has to do with the neck profile I think. Really enjoy Andertons vids.
Do these have full-pickguard shielding or just the controls like Classic Vibe does? I had to add shielding to my CV Strat to ground the pickup screws which for some reason would make it pop and crackle every time my finger touched them when playing.
Bought a mint MIM Strat for £280 on eBay just the other day. It was so cheap that it allowed me to also buy a mint 60th anniversary USA Strat for £600. Point being, these new Squiers, great as they are, seem to be getting pretty expensive, especially when comparing to what you can get on the second hand market for similar or less money.
Completely agree, I bought a mint shell pink player series strat the other day for the same price as these, and as pretty as these squiers are, I know what I prefer
I bought '98 Mexican strat for $300 and put in 58/62 pickups and a tusq but for about 180 more and it sounds like an absolute animal. Can pretty much get it to play anything
Same! I bought a danelectro long horn, a U2, and a made in USA ovation for a combined 700 this year …. These squires are fine but too expensive g For what else is available
missing the point, like he said squier is pretty much its own brand now. No longer viewed as a beginner guitar that fender does, but great in their own right. I've seen some awful MIM strats, maybe these play better. I know I had a vintage modified strat that was awesome a few years back.
@@dogbot94 I still have a 2012 Vintage Modified Thinline upgraded with Bare Knuckles PUPS that is an absolute weapon (£280 new). Genuinely one of my all time favourite guitars. Modern Squiers are great but USA and MIM necks are in a totally different class. What with the price of top-of-the-line Squires being almost double what they used to be, it makes no sense to not look on the secondhand market for something with a USA/MIM neck and custom shop pups. It's a no brainer. Fender will be keeping a very close eye on their top end Squire sales over the next few years as they are well aware of the fact they're competing with the Fender secondhand market. Electric Guitars last for decades, and play better over time, so it's a difficult one for them. I'll definitely keep buying the occasional new Squire so long as they're under £350. The recent Esquire Squires were also brilliant.

the jazzmaster vintage edition has the aged hardware i love it more than the gold edition plus im a huge fan of sea foam green squier really outdid themselves on these
I’m a massive Squier fan. My favourite guitar of the 20 plus guitars I own including several USA Fenders is my 1987 MIJ Squier Strat. I have a couple of 2021 Squiers including A Jaguar Contemporary which I count amongst the best made of all guitars I own. It these 50th anniversary models have been very disappointing I’ve found. I had a look at a couple of these in a store yesterday and all had for and finish problems. Not to mention the plastics (pickup covers and knobs) which just look ridiculously cheap.
Classic vibes use to sell for $359-379 a few years ago! Steady uptick in price and always a new model introduced constantly. Quality on some are still questionable.
The original Chinese ones were consistently better. I have a 2009 60s Strat and it's so good that I have no reason what so ever to 'upgrade', other than GAS. I think it was around £220 new. Ridiculous value, and I find myself wishing I'd bought several of em.
That's the result of all the price fixing that Fender did,,, sadly none of the retailers wanted to speak up about this. It'll forever be a black mark on the reputation of Andertons, GAK and many other retailers, to those in the know. We've all been ripped off en masse, and it's been swept under the rug.
Yeah, I always considered Squier to be for beginners up until recent years. But the 40th Anniversary editions are getting really good reviews. Total Guitar gave the 40th Anniversary Jazzmaster 4/5 this month, which is pretty cool. I always wanted a Jazzmaster but can't afford Fender prices, so finally decided to buy the 40th Gold Edition. It's the first Squier I've owned (my other guitars are a Mex Fender Strat and an Epiphone SG Muse). Feels strange to drop nearly £400 on a Squier, but it seems like the real deal!
I've never owned a squir but have played several friends guitars that had one great guitars but my first real guitar was an American fender strat lol I say real because my 1st guitar was a like 1940s or something idk really dirt old harmony acoustic that sounded like a banjo that was my pop pops old junker that he never played but I wanted to learn so bad I didn't care what it sounded like or how hard it was to play. My second guitar was also a harmony but it was an electric , I got a jackson flying v that I had 1956 humbuckers in ... it had a mirror Pickguard and was given to me which I ended up giving it away myself. I got my American strat after that.... I'd love to get a few squirs to be honest...
Correct I love these guitars matter fact, I’m gonna buy one. I think they’re beautiful. Squier makes great guitars I think it’s a prestige thing when it says fender on it or maybe Gibson or maybe guild even the jazz master is beautiful. I think these guitars are gorgeous just like the Graach sherries, they were all gorgeous I have one I love it a 427GT hollow body midnight blue Graach that’s what I have. I love the Sunburst Squier Strat that’s the one I want you guys sure do do a great job on this show, I really love it, thanks I appreciate the information about these guitars🎸🎼🎶🎵👍🏼😎
Pro Tone Series in mid to late 90's was when Squier did again so great guitars that Fender scrapped their plans again and made them to do lower quality instruments again.
Classic Vibe is definitely premium Squier, but if you want the breaking point where they left the nest as it were, you're iooking at Vintage Modified. They were doing things mainstream Fender wouldn't do for years, if ever. I'm currently the proud owner of three of them (OG thinline tele, jaguar, and bass vi in that order) and wouldn't trade them for the world... likely even if someone offered me the vintage fenders in trade. Regarding the 40th Jazzmaster though, aesthetic changes aside (apart from that anodized pickguard which really helps it from separating from its output jack), the angled neck pocket is nigh-unnoticable and yet probably the biggest thing to ever happen to Squier offsets. Not sure if the other models are like this but if not they should be.
They need to give love to the MIM line. There aren't enough double bond Teles, bound necks, or guitars with block inlays. The Jazzmaster is tempting purely off aesthetics. There aren't many options for a bound Jazzmaster neck with block inlays. Let alone one with a 9.5 radius
The humor, respect and love between these two blokes is my favorite thing to watch on this channel. I always look forward to see the next video..
Lee, your playing is so incredibly good now. Proper well done!
They really dropped the ball by not putting double bindings on that Tele body IMHO. Would've made for the best looking Tele in all of Fender's lineup with those inlays.
Yes! Why are double-bound Teles so rare? Especially when you can get binding on most Epis and other imports. Fender, take note!
Yah I agree.
Yeah it makes it a little more special and adds to the guitar but I've always liked the straight up original tele look just a slab of wood.
I'm equally surprised. It's not like they don't do double bound Teles. The Classic Vibe Custom Tele is double bound. They could have easily used that.
Agreed, nonetheless its a belter! I think the bigger mistake is using the big dopey 70's headstock on the Strat its literally a deal breaker for me and i really like it from the nut down too 😕

the jazzmaster vintage edition has the aged hardware i love it more than the gold edition plus im a huge fan of sea foam green squier really outdid themselves on these
I’m a massive Squier fan.
Tasty from the cap in the intro
Lee’s jam had me moving today
you can roll the binding edge just like you can roll the wood of the fretboard...
If i was right handed i would own around 772 more Guitars ! but being a lefty i have a very limited choice ;-(
That Tele, though... It may be a single cut, but it gives me the upper horn.
Sweet jam
Classic vibes use to sell for $359-379 a few years ago! Steady uptick in price and always a new model introduced constantly. Quality on some are still questionable.
The original Chinese ones were consistently better. I have a 2009 60s Strat and it's so good that I have no reason what so ever to 'upgrade', other than GAS.
I think it was around £220 new. Ridiculous value, and I find myself wishing I'd bought several of em.
@@ReValveiT_01 Awesome
At this point they could drop the name squier 😂
That's the result of all the price fixing that Fender did,,, sadly none of the retailers wanted to speak up about this. It'll forever be a black mark on the reputation of Andertons, GAK and many other retailers, to those in the know. We've all been ripped off en masse, and it's been swept under the rug.
@@TheLambLive I absolutely agree!
You know, I've never tried a squire, I just went straight to fender, think Id better have a go at one ehh.
Do you mean you're about to stock Vintage (brand) relic'd guitars?
That outro jam tho 🤙
Strat with binding and block inlays just looks wrong to my eyes, but mostly digging these instruments!
Beautiful guitars. Of course, no Lefty.
..never is.
WTF whit the Blue gold Stratocaster??? 😧😧 sounds crazy 😍😍
Agree!! I want a bound tele at MIM price, the only options are MIJ really
@@49Ibanez lots of MIM basses with block inlays and bound frett boards
I have the jazzmaster, it’s awesome! Beautiful in person
If I can only get one I don't know whether I should get the Strat or Tele
Depends on the type of music you want to play, my choice would be a tele for sure!
