    As a truck driver, I would like more information and video of how this truck works and what the guts of the truck looks like. All we get is outside pictures and looks at the steering wheel, and that it can do 0-60 in less time than most cars. This is a work vehicle, and as a driver, I want to know if it can work! I do believe that this is the future, but I would like to see if this is a working machine. A quarter horse is prettier and faster than a Belgium, but cannot plow a field all day. I want to know if this is a work horse, or a pretty riding horse. And no video I have looked at has really gotten into how this thing is put together and how it works. I guess, by what some have said, that they are waiting for the next generation battery to really let us see how it performs. I guess I will have to wait.

      There are some good pictures and video of the motors, drivetrain, braking, etc. You can find them on here (UA-cam) as well as various electric vehicle websites. It looks pretty stout to me. Tesla seems very confident that this truck will have close to 600 miles of range and recharge in about the same time it takes to unload. I agree a lot of people want to know more - but the great thing would be that you don't have to know much about the "guts" of the machine because it just works and needs little maintenance.
      Rest assured though - it's a workhorse, not a show horse.

    Tesla is by far the best automotive and tech company in the world. Tesla will soon release new technologies, car models, new FSD version and much more. The supply doesn't meet the high demand and that says it all. Investing in Tesla is a good investment for the future and for the environment.
    I can't wait for Tesla to start delivering the new car models of Cybertruck, Semitruck and Roadster - this could be huge for the company and industry.

    Im all for the Tesla Electric Semi but a few changes do need to be done, doors open the wrong way if im shunting trailers with my truck i dont want to have to walk around the doors everytime im getting in and out hooking and unhooking air lines and trailers, also Driver can't sit in the middle of the truck and rely on screens to see when backing up, not everyone can back up straight backwards or when trailers are tightly together and you have to get the trailer between 2 other trailers. you have to be able to look out the left side with your actual eyes, thats how most drivers back up.

      @@michael-dm2bv how will this tow 30 tons up a 8 percent mountain grade for 12 miles? These electric semis are not entirely "the future", some jobs like log truck driving, will never be replaced by the diesel engine, you have to have a Jacobs engine brake, (non existent in an electric semi) otherwise you will fade your brakes and possibly lose control. And climbing mountain passes while towing 30 tons is not even being claimed by your God, elon musk. Moral of the story is, this truck will only be practical for flat grade hauling of light loads. Only a handful of van trailer companies will actually buy these pieces of shit. There is more to moving freight ( freight can be steel, wood, livestock, and many others, not just a can trailer full of pillows) than flat grade roads, which is the only way this praying mantis looking abomination could haul over 10 tons lol

    • @Airsoftbros888
      @Airsoftbros888 6 років тому +12

      Read my previous comment on how wrong you clueless tesla fanboys are. We rely on a lot of HEAVY freight (wood,steel) being transported on mountain passes, this peice of shit, could never tow 30 tons up an 8 percent mountain grade for 12 miles. 25-30 tons is an efficient weight for semis to transport freight, it'll take 3 teslas, hauling 10 tons, to do the same work of ONE Detroit diesel truck. Tesla cars aren't ENTIRELY the future RIGHT NOW but I do believe you'll slowly see electric cars become the majority in major cities. Eventually they will be the norm, but this semi abomination was a miss on the part of musk and he's gonna need make something more economically efficient if he plans to sell them lol it needs to type upwards of 30 tons and have a range of atleast 800 miles to be "THE FUTURE".

I see an automatic gear selector, so not a clutch, and trucks this size have that yellow diamond shaped button in front of the cup holder to activate parking brakes, so I’m not sure what it could be unless it’s a less powerful version of parking brakes for use when not pulling a trailer.

Many shippers/receivers and carriers as well switching to drop-and-hook operations because of ELD implemented in North America, so they can not rely on charging while load-unload, because there will no such things in many cases.. A huge network of charging stations still necessary to be built along highways an in the major cities to proceed with real use of such vehicles in trucking.

      There is only one gear. Just like your clothes washer and dryer. It can go at different speeds, but it's just one motor. It's a much better idea than internal combustion engines. Trains use electric motors.

    I drive for XPO Logistics. We are an LTL(LessThanLoad)(Local) company. Anyway, our day cabs never stop. We have daytime linehaul, City Drivers, and night time linehaul. Every LTL company I know operates like this. I'ma city driver. I deliver an chase freight all day. Get back in time to load the freight for our night time linehaul guys. ReFuel them freight shakers an keep em moving. That overnight charge BS won't work. Every morning I get to work my freight liner is still hot from the night driver. ReFuel an keep em moving. Just to enlighten the few. We operate 24/7. Monday - Saturday morning.
