Very frustrating as it stopped syncing properly with my Google calendar on my cell, and I have been searching for something simple like this for months. Anyway, since Outlook 2016 on my PC is my main working calendar, I now have it set to sync one way with my "new" Google calendar. I also set this up on my laptop to sync one way from my Google calendar to my laptop. Now everything is in sync again. Thanks so much again! 👍

Hi! Absolutely LOVE this add on, it has saved my life. Unfortunately though more recently I have been experiencing issues with it where my Outlook events are being marked as private and set to free when they should not be, and my google events are being synced to my Outlook calendar and showing as public when they should not be. I tried resetting everything according to the steps in the video and doing a full sync while pressing shift and that has only added more events and duplications to both my calendars instead of merging with existing entries. I would like to delete everything and just start fresh but I don't know how to do that. Can you please help me?!

I would have set to configure both-way on the sync but your use-case helped me understand I did not need that since 90% of my work is on Outlook. My case was a little different - I have a sub-calendar in Outlook to track certain activities. I need to see it in Google - and iPhone. Outlook owns it and is where I manage it 90% of time. I created the sub-calendar in Outlook. I created a sub-Calendar in Google - as you did. I linked them using your exact config, except, I choose a calendar under the default in the Outlook options. Viola. Works. My Outlook account is already configured on the iPhone - the new Outlook Calendar is viewable and editable there. It syncs to Outlook from iPhone and from Outlook to Google. Works like a charm. Thank you so much! Keep it going!

No, it doesn't have to be the same account. As long you provide permission to access your Google account it should work. Try to remove the Google account and add them again.

This is great! I have a question, is there a way to hide meeting details or titles on the one way sync from outlook to google? Ideally I'd just like to show/pull my outlook calendar availability, and don't need the meeting details.
At 4.33 where it asks us to Select Calendar my Outlook calendar is [Read Only} and it won't let me add this. I guess it's because my Outlook calendar (that I added to Google "Other calendars") is being subscribed to, so I can only read/view it from Google and not edit it.
I use outlook from my web browser not from my desktop app. When I set things up it defaulted to using the outlook accounts in my local desktop app. Is it possible to have this sync with the outlook work account that I access via a web browser without having to access the account from my desktop app? Good instructions. App does not work. It is unable to retrieve my gmail/Google calendar. "Failed to retrieve Google calendar." I repeatedly attempted. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. No changes. Unable to work.

I can't really comment on the security aspects of it since that is part of the application development. You can drop an email to the app developer for clarification.

Hi man, very nice video, but i have a doubt: i can "copy" all my events to my work calendar on Google, and, if i have outlook opened, it seems like the keep it sync (any update of the current events or new ones it will be sync to Google). But what if i close Outlook, and somebody ask for a meeting or edit some event. It seems like doesnt sync at all. Am I right? can I have it sync it all the time?
The app was working fine until I faced a problem with outlook and I reset it. Then OGCS stopped working, and I reinstalled it but it's not working. Whenever I open it it opens the chrome website but I can't see the settings of the app.
I just bought the year for Microsoft family 365, which offers cloud storage and the office suite. However, I cannot find any link for the outlook install on the desktop. It appears to me that Microsoft has discontinued the desktop app, in favor of the cloud. It may also be that my 365 subscription doesn't work with the 7 year old Outlook 2016 exe (at least on Windows 10)? Some one, please, prove me wrong, with a link to an outlook installer that works for me!
@@ganee Thank you for the help. I finally was able to get office installed. I kind of, finally, got this app running. I keep getting a message from office which only allows this app access for 10 minutes. The app claims only half is synced. So, it doesn't look like I will be able to sync automatically, unless there is some hidden security settings. So far, it has been hit or miss on seeing events added on any computer or app showing up on both the outlook and the Google calendar. I feel very strongly that the Google and Microsoft products need to contain the latest information automatically synced in case I loose my phone or the battery dies (I will automatically be locked out of all of my files, unless I am home with working computers, which could cause me to become homeless!) or Microsoft stops being affordable or stops working for whatever reason. Also, there are more mature Google apps on the playstore, and I can do things on my calendar app that I need, which are missing from the Microsoft app. It is definitely emerging that it is irresponsible to let a giant company have the entire keys to your kingdom and the ability to make a person become homeless on their whim or technical difficulty.
@@dennisgarber I hear you but in reality, that is how the big tech giants works. Also, the app shouldn't work for just 10 minutes, it should be working continuously. I find that a bit strange.

Great Idea but it has to be in the cloud. running stuff on a desktop will only keep the calendar synced when computer is on!

I don't see that option, but you can set each calendar entry as private if that works for you.

It should sync in the scenarios you have described, but ensure you have the two way sync turned on.

I just did a test with Outlook closed, it was able to sync. I was using the alpha release. You might want to give it a try.

You should be able to find the installer link once you login to your office account online.

This particular app doesn't support Hotmail sync. I am not sure if you sync Hotmail to Outlook whether that will work. Not sure.
