This was a stripped down set for Live Aid. They cam back to Wembley a year later and did a full concert and it's epic...it's also currently on UA-cam. Just search for Queen Wembley 1986.
this live is considered the best live perfomance of all time in the music.. also Freddie is considered for many the greatest vocalist of all time .. RIP for him .. he died too young .. great reactiion keep up
Now you are prepared for more Queen " Somebody to Love" montreal 1981 and "Under Pressure - Live Wembley" and the music video ahead of their time that got them banned from the U.S. MTV channel - "I want to break free"
That isn't the video MTV banned. "Body Language" was the video, due to its "homoerotic undertones" and the presence of human flesh, although the band members themselves were fully clothed throughout. Tame by today's standards, the video was shot in a dimly lit steam room and featured sweaty, writhing, Lycra-clad bodies. The "I Want to Break Free" video wasn't very popular due it being a very bigoted time in the U.S.
Freddie Mercury is the singer and frontman, Brian May is the guitarist, John Deacon is on bass and Roger Tayler is on drums. All are excellent musicians and have written songs for the band. Queen of one of the great bands in history
Best 20 minutes of music.Period.I was 15 when this Live Aid happened and i was glued to the TV. Freddie had my Dad loving this performance.I was already a huge Queen fan and when Freddie played to us at home we felt like we were there😂 Love this performance and Freddie was sick also which is crazy. They couldnt hear each other on stage so they had to take cues from Freddie to end the songs.Epic!
@@vicprovost2561 Oh Absolutely I used to go see the Song remains the same with my friends in the early 80's for two years straight every weekend. Using a little sychodelics lol. Saw Robert Plant with Steve Ray Vaughan in 88 and I saw Floyd in 88 as well it was Epic! The light show the props all stellar so Yeah there are some other amazing performances of course. But being Live Aid it was Epic❤️
@@RockinMamaT Yeah, saw SRV open for Plant as well, then next tour he opened for Jeff Beck, awesome shows! Saw Pink Floyd 4 times, twice in the 70s with Roger Waters still in the band. All 4 shows were beyond amazing.
At the time of Live Aid I was serving in the British Royal Marine Commandos in a refugee camp in Ethiopia. We listened to it on the radio. We were surrounded by the full horror of the Famine, but when Queen came on the radio those poor soles who were there even reacted in a very positive way. I remember that a lot of us Royal Marine Commandos were crying watching some of the children dancing along, I'm teary eyed just remembering. I looked around at men I had fought alongside, who were tough, hardened Royal Marine Commandos who had fought a life and death war against Argentinian's in 82. By the end of Queen's set we were dancing with the children. It went along way to help build their trust in us. The famine is only one of many terrible memories I have from 35 years of active service, and over 3 years hospitalisation. But when I remember the smiles on the children's faces, and their laughter at the terrible way we danced always reminds me that humanity will always find it's way through even the worst of times. I only watched it for the first time last year, my son put it on the TV. A lot of memories came back and a lot of tears. My amazing Wife took me to see Queen at Wembley, U.K., in 1986 two weeks after I got back from Ethiopia as a surprise, we also went to the last Queen concert they ever did. I saw Queen live 8 times in all (my wife only 6 ha ha), they were incredible live. And yes, I am an old fart.
One of my luckiest moments in life was seeing this band in the 70s and 80s. I think i was 15 when i first saw them and i do consider it to have been a great privilege.
The second song is "Radio Gaga". The crowd's reaction and participation is so powerful. (the singer Lady Gaga took her stage name from this song). All of Queen's songs are great. In more than a few audience participation / interaction was not only encouraged, but designed into the music itself. "We Will Rock You" is the best example of this. Getting the entire crowd (no matter the size) to feel being a part of the music was a great talent of the band. Keep watching and listening to Queen, you won't be disappointed.
There are many Legends in music , but Freddie is a Unique Legend, incomparable. Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballé - Barcelona (Original David Mallet Video 1987 Remastered)
Another interesting fact for you the guitar legend that is Brian May made his guitar called The Red Special with his father when he started in the music business one of the most famous guitars in music history
Best musical performance in history! You feel like you are transported to a queen concert every time you hear them live! Never be another band quite like them! 👍😎🔥💯
LiveAid at Wembley Stadium 1985 United Kingdom a charity concert to raise awareness and money for a terrible famine in Ethiopia, the concert was twinned with a concert in Philadelphia USA , the crowd at Wembley UK was 72,000 people, the crowd at Philadelphia was 92,000, all the best artist around the world performing at both concerts, each artist had around 21 minutes to perform, when Queen came on stage with their legendary flamboyant performance they stole the show, and were the best performers on the day, I was lucky enough to actually attended this live concert and have fond memories of the best live band ever, both concerts raised millions of pounds and dollars for the famine, over the years I attended many of Queen live performance and Freddie’s last live performance ever in 1986 at Nebworth Park United Kingdom, the crowd at Knebworth was estimated to be around 150,000 fans, the lead guitarist is Brian May , the bass guitar is John Deacon, the drummer is Rodger Taylor , great reaction thanks!
Freddie Mercury[2] (born Farrokh Bulsara; 5 September 1946 - 24 November 1991)[3] was a British singer and songwriter who achieved worldwide fame as the lead vocalist and pianist of the rock band Queen. Regarded as one of the greatest singers in the history of rock music, he was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. Mercury defied the conventions of a rock frontman with his theatrical style, influencing the artistic direction of Queen
It was great to see how much you enjoyed it. Queen’s Live Aid performance is still sensational after so many years and will remain so forever. The Queen fans all wish they had a time machine to get back to one of their concerts. In 2005, their Live Aid performance was named the greatest live rock performance of all time by a BBC poll, ahead of Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock and the Rolling Stones’ free gig in Hyde Park. It’s been described as 20 minutes that changed music.
Brian May could not afford a guitar when he first started out so he and his father built one. It's called 'The Red Special' and he still plays it today. It has such a unique sound and Brian can do amazing things with it.
His dad worked with electronics, but he was also skilled at building things from wood. The electronics was in a non-standard set-up for guitar giving it a unique sound.
Hi Olavity, it's great you've seen this immortal performance :) It's widely regarded as Queen's best! Freddie had a throat infection at the time, but he still put in the performance of a lifetime - that's why he is the GOAT :) Yeah I second retireddadlife's comment about you're prepared for more Queen & the live version of Somebody To Love in Montreal 1981. + I highly recommend Another One Bites The Dust from 1st of 2 nights of their full length Wembley concerts in 1986 :)
Good Morning! I can honestly say that seeing your reaction to Queen & Freddie this morning, CHEERED UP for me what was going to be an otherwise stressful day… THANK YOU!!! FACT: This was Freddie Mercury singing with a SEVERE throat infection… His doctor even told him to NOT do the Live Aid performance (because he might damage his throat) and when the 20-minute set was over, Freddie actually said that his throat felt like he’d been “gargling with shards of glass”!😳
Yes it was great Freddie wasn't at his 💯 present he had already caught the virus which made his voice crack a bit. This was live on TV over 80 million watch .I could be wrong but still think they are still together. Thank you for doing this reaction Olivia you always brighten the my day up❤.
Hi Ola, so glad you reacted to this. Freddie had the crowd in the palm of his hand that day, and Queen stole the show. Freddie was a master showman who put on a clinic in live performing. Lady Gaga got her name from the song Radio Gaga. Sorry to see your Eagles reaction was taken down. I'd like to recommend another group from the era, Chicago. My first song suggestion would be "25 or 6 to 4"
You need to hear a couple of songs by Sir Brian May, Ph.D The first is '39. He performed this live with Roger Taylor, Rufus Taylor and a bunch of others ua-cam.com/video/UAorEIkawXY/v-deo.htmlsi=Ifwo56s-vdU3YfoT The second song is about the Native American experience with regards the European Immigrants. ua-cam.com/video/K0LSuY2TDwE/v-deo.htmlsi=uGXAcITAeeWtpJiH
Somebody To Love from Montreal 1981 is a must see!!! It's this level performance and more, (imo), but it is shorter than this of course.😢BUT... Mind blowing vocals and instruments! Freddie on the piano is glorious indeed. Great reaction! ❤from America
This was a concert with various artists and bands playing a 20-minute slot at Wembley Arena in London or at the JFK Stadium in Philadelphia in the USA to raise money for Africans who were starving due to famine. It also had the singer Phil Collins doing a set in London before being whisked off by plane to the USA to play the drums for the rock band Led Zeppelin. Queen pretty much was the best performance of the night and helped raise a lot of money. For your next song by Queen, I would suggest Somebody To Love, live from Montreal in 1981.
To give people just how good Queen was that day, the legendary David Bowie who was on after Queen was heard by a reporter to exclaim "how the fuck am i supposed to follow that?"
Hi Olavity. So glad you enjoyed the Live Aid session with Queen yes Freddie lead vocal, Brian May Lead Guitar,John Deacon on bass and Roger Taylor on drums and yes we are the Champions and we will rock you, are all Queen orginal songs delighted you liked them all.❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💋💋💋💋💋💋🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Might wanna check out "Green Day Crowd Singing Bohemian Rhapsody [Live in Hyde Park 2017]". People waiting for the Green Day concert singing along to Queen. Thanks for the reaction! 👍
what a beautiful reaction to a classic performance! one of the best reactions to this i've ever seen, and ive seen a lot!! btw, "rest of the band" = john deacon lol
Great reaction you said it all there will never be another freddie and i don't think brian ever got enough credit for just how good he was on the guitar
I love how you kept saying you love his voice. Freddie had a throat infection or something and his doctor advised him not to play the concert, but Freddie did it anyway. Real professional and great frontman.
I saw Queen live in 1982 at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto Canada one of the greatest shows of my lifetime. FM was a great pure entertainer a phenomenal stage presence. 🙏❤
The guitarist is Brian May, one of the greatest rock-guitarists in history. Uncomparibly because he built his guitar himself, together with his dad, in 60's. He built in some effects, that are even nowadays hard to recreate. Pure genius.
Just so you know Freddie's doctor told him not to do this because he had an infection that was affecting his voice but he didn't want to let his fans down and ended up giving one of the best performance ever.
You should definitely do Somebody to love live in Montreal next, but yeah Freddie was a character, he loved to perform! He actually had laryngitis during this show and still smashed it. The drummer is Roger Taylor, the guitarist is Brian May and bassist is John Deacon
Brian and Freddie played one More song at that night later,it's Called "Is this the world we created?". It's a worthwile to listen to this Song Too!!!!😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
One of the very best sets at Live Aid and one of their most famous performances. Another to consider is their amazing 1974 shows at the Rainbow and at Hammetsmith. They were emerging stars at that point with something to prove and were great out of the shoot, a true hard rock classic band with a great and unique lead singer and guitarist.. I saw their first 3 tours in the USA, they blew us away, try Liar, Ogre Battle or Brighton Rock from their first 3 albums and see what the shouting was really about in the 70s. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
I really recommend, for every Queen reactions, to listen to the Studio version first, and then live. So you'll see similarities and differences, and how good Queen were live too. Some songs are as good or even better in certain performances.
Bohemian Rhapsody video was 1975. This is 1985...years have influenced style and sound. Some songs at LiveAid were shortened to fit the time limit. I can see you thinking Elvis Presley on CRAZY LITTLE THING - yes, it was a tribute to him.
Such a cute reaction. Love that Richard is your favorite. He was a great musician, valuable to Pink Floyd and greatly missed, not in the least by his good friend David.
It's hard to believe there's an astrophysicist in a rock band, but guitarist Brian May is one! IMO 'Somebody To Love' live in Montreal in 1981 is the next must see Queen video. ua-cam.com/video/aA2IRoPFIn0/v-deo.html
Live aid was in London and New York while being broadcast live. Billions of people, including myself, watched around the worlds. This concert was just after Freddie was diagnosed with aides
So you have Brian May the lead Guitarist who's been voted best guitarist of all time more than once. You have Freddie the best Frontman of all time to many people. Including some of his peers who have publicly stated Freddie is the best, including none other than Axl Rose. No wonder millions an millions of people say Queen are the best live band of all time.
This video had some of the best quality I've seen but they missed the Bobbies at the beginning 😞 and FYI: the guitarist, Brian May, is an astrophysicist 🔭
Love it that they are being introduced to me generations! I see a lot of reaction videos. I like your style 😊 PLEASE go down the Queen rabbit hole! Its a GREAT ride!! I like to say, Freddy isn't a dancer .. he's a PRANCER!! He is the BEST showman ever!! The GOAT!!
Hello, if you can please check out their full concert at Wembley 1986. You'll love it! Queen had to shorten Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, and We Will Rock You, to fit as much as they could in their 20 minute time slot. I am one who loves their live music, over studio. It very hard to give advice on what to listen to next. There is so much to hear. But, you could try Under Pressure, Another one Bites the Dust, and I Want it All. These are songs you might know, or have been exposed to, in the past. Oh, you should check out Love of My Life at Rock in Rio 1985. That will surprise you. 🙂
You should check out 1986 Kensington Stadium .. 120,000 people!! He had then in the palm of his hand, as usual 😊. Its 2 nights July 11th and July 12th. It was their LAST live performance. Only Freddie knew that. Its 2 hours. Most reactors do it in 4 clips. He leaves it ALL ON THE STAGE!!! So much incredibleness!!
They all said the acoustics were so bad that they simply couldn't hear one another. That's where their absolute professionalism comes into play. They had rehearsed very hard to get their 20 minutes down to the second. You can also see they are watching one another and giving cues to one another through the whole set. Quite remarkable really.
Queen is still touring Brian May is still in the band and the guy from American Idol. Adam Lambert is the lead singer. I went to the concert in South Florida right before the pandemic.
Good reaction to Queen. I saw the whole Live Aid Concert on TV here in Sweden, when it was recorded in 1985. Some suggestions for other songs with Queen, "Bicycle Race", "Killer Queen", "I Want To Break Free" and "I Want It All". Good job, keep it up.😉❤
Excellent reaction. Always fun when the reactor sings along and realizes who sings that song. Glad you enjoyed it. When you get a chance, you should delve into David Bowie. Start with Heroes (the album version).❤❤🔥🔥🎸🎸
Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest entertainers ever. In a time when things weren´t so constricted and censored like in todays crazy-upside-down world and just having fun more than anything else. If we could get a little bit of Freddies charisma sparkled over the earth it would do wonders beyond belief. Hugs to all
"This is twenty one minutes long..."
(later) "Is it over?!"

I love how you kept saying you love his voice. Freddie had a throat infection or something and his doctor advised him not to play the concert, but Freddie did it anyway. Real professional and great frontman.
Freddie said in an interview that it felt like gargling with glass.
That's why they opened with BoRap because it was the most demanding song.
They really are the BEST LIVE performers!!
Just so you know Freddie's doctor told him not to do this because he had an infection that was affecting his voice but he didn't want to let his fans down and ended up giving one of the best performance ever.
The best frontman ever!!! RIP Freddie!!! Thanks for the memories!!!
Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
I watched Live aid in 8. I was 10. I don't remember much but about it, but Queen is still so fresh in my mind it's like it was yesterday
That's a great feeling when you discover several of those ultra-popular songs are by Queen. And they're so different from each other!
I really recommend, for every Queen reactions, to listen to the Studio version first, and then live. So you'll see similarities and differences, and how good Queen were live too. Some songs are as good or even better in certain performances.
Freddie Mercury- Lead Singer
Brian May- Guitarist
John Deacon- Bass Player
Roger Taylor- Drummer
Really loved your reaction and especially your surprise at the songs the originated!
Definitely watch live at rainbow or Montreal 81’ by Queen it’s so good! And Queen is definitely worth listening to all the time
All they sing is theirs❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's hard to believe there's an astrophysicist in a rock band, but guitarist Brian May is one! IMO 'Somebody To Love' live in Montreal in 1981 is the next must see Queen video. ua-cam.com/video/aA2IRoPFIn0/v-deo.html
That's history right there!
Brian May guitarist ❤
Yes somebody to love Montreal live 81. you'll love it
Live aid was in London and New York while being broadcast live. Billions of people, including myself, watched around the worlds. This concert was just after Freddie was diagnosed with aides
The good old Time. No Cellphone no Internet. Pure Music and just fun. I saw Queen live 1986. Didnt know that was the last Show with Freddy.
how was ?
60000 people one Mind and oneVoice. Unique experience.
Thanks to reacting to Queen at Live Aids. RIP, Freddie!
Extraordinary 😱
So you have Brian May the lead Guitarist who's been voted best guitarist of all time more than once. You have Freddie the best Frontman of all time to many people. Including some of his peers who have publicly stated Freddie is the best, including none other than Axl Rose. No wonder millions an millions of people say Queen are the best live band of all time.
This video had some of the best quality I've seen but they missed the Bobbies at the beginning 😞 and FYI: the guitarist, Brian May, is an astrophysicist 🔭
"Breakthru", "The Miracle", "The Show Must Go On", "Innuendo", "Scandal", "Who Wants To Live Forever" etc. etc. 🙂
The GOAT!!
The Guitarist is Sir Brian May. Amazing Guitarist and Astrophysicist. I believe he was Knighted by King Charles III last year.
Always moving, inspiring ... I was on a plane back from Greece this day ... words aren't enough for Freddy ... and btw you are cute 🥰
King Freddie. Thanks for
Hello, if you can please check out their full concert at Wembley 1986. 🙂
1.5 billion people watched this on tv in 85.
I went to the concert in South Florida right before the pandemic.
great reaction
The guitarist is Brian May. Drummer and back-up singer is Roger Taylor and on bass is John Deacon .. aka Deaky
Good reaction to Queen. I saw the whole Live Aid Concert on TV here in Sweden, when it was recorded in 1985. Some suggestions for other songs with Queen, "Bicycle Race", "Killer Queen", "I Want To Break Free" and "I Want It All". Good job, keep it up.😉❤
Envidio a todo aquel que tuvo la oportunidad de estar en ese concierto
Excellent reaction. Always fun when the reactor sings along and realizes who sings that song. Glad you enjoyed it. When you get a chance, you should delve into David Bowie. Start with Heroes (the album version).❤❤🔥🔥🎸🎸
Guitarist is Brian May, also an astro physicist drummer Roger Taylor, bassist John Deacon, singer Freddie Mercury.
I was there, and queen was not to be there..but thank God they did at last minute.............
Next Queen “somebody to love “ live 1981 in Montreal 💥💥💥new subscriber & love your reactions 💗
Does forget the bass player John deacon no one ever mentions him he keeps the band in sync ❤
Freddie Mercury was one of the greatest entertainers ever. In a time when things weren´t so constricted and censored like in todays crazy-upside-down world
and just having fun more than anything else. If we could get a little bit of Freddies charisma sparkled over the earth it would do wonders beyond belief. Hugs to all
I was there
Only Bowie and U2 came close but Queen stole the show, they treated the show with respect and blasted the day out of the park.
For about 20 minutes in 1985, Great Britton was ruled by a different queen. (I don't know who originally said that)
Freddy was one if not THE greatest front men in history. A man of many looks and talents
Bless you 😅
Yeah beautiful! Next time try "who wants to live forever" from Queen 😘
