- So real quick this is kinda of a random video but it still might be useful for somebody(even though there is all ready videos for this). The RX7 has been on stand by while i save up some money. There will be a update on the FD a week from now so stay tuned.

What size screws did you use for the new glove box after you drilled the rivets out?? Thanks!
Gerardo G. I didn’t use any. It’s originally held on with the rivets and 7mm screws. I just used the 7mm screws.
if im reversing this process. i bought a jumper seat, so what parts do i need just the ash tray middle piece? or will i need a different gloveback and steering wheel kicker plate? im taking my center console out and im putting a jumper. thanks
You would need the glove box and probably the under steering wheel plate for it to fit good
Also for the ones doing the mirrors. You can transfer just the switches to your original switch housing so you don’t have the 4 window buttons. You just have to get rid of the “extra” buttons if that makes sense.
I noticed that you had mirrors with the turn signal indicators. Do those work on your truck (plug & play)?
@@LaserGuy64 yes if your car is the same year as mine 04 with electric windows then it’s plug and play. Supposedly it’s 03-07 but I’m not sure on that

No I didn’t. Only thing i plugged in was the cigarette ports.,
There isn’t a wiring harness for the radio to connect to and the vent connect at a different place
I’m looking to do this to my truck. Do I need the new glove box and under steering wheel piece? Or can I use the ones I already have?
Matt Cahill you can use your original ones they just won’t fit as good around the console and you might have to trim them a little bit but it’s been done before
Hey i have a question of the fold in mirrors. Ik your swapped your switches with the option to fold in. But did your original switches have the option to fold in???
The orginal one did not have that option
Did you have to change out the panel under the steering wheel? I can get my original to fit after I changed the center console out
Dray Dozier I’m sure you can trim your original one a little bit but the one off the center console set up fits nicer
Will A center counsel out of a suburban or tahoe of around the same year fit the Silverado? Would be a big help
Jacob Kastruba the one is installed in this video is actually out of a Tahoe. If the suburban one looks like the one I put it it should also work.

Yes and knee panel on the driver side also. And don’t forget the part that attaches the console to the dash
I have a 2000 Silverado ext cab with the bench seat or whatever in the front. Could I do this to my truck? Figured I would have to take the console out of a Tahoe or something. If so what all would I need?
Michael C. Depends since urs is a 2000. If you get a center console from a 99-02 just grab the same corresponding parts. If u get a 03-06 center console same parts but grab the dash bezel and radio bucket.
I have a sub box and want to do the swap but don’t want to lose the box as of now I only have the driver and passenger seat in it cuz idk if jump seat fits

How do I delete the center console rear radio controls and still keep have the rear speaker sound? When I disconnect the center console radio controls from the harness I loose rear speaker sound.
I would think install a aftermarket stereo and wire the speaker individually to the stereo but I’m not 100% sure

Chris Ortega type in “15118821 gm” on google. The part is discontinued so you might have to special order it. Best best is to take it out of donor truck.
Yo! This Looks legit! Couple of Questions. Will this work on a Silverado 1500 LT (Crew Cab)? Lastly, where did you get the new center console and how much did it cost you? Looking at doing something similar. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Jason if your is a 03-07 you just need the same parts I used. I got everything out of a 04 Tahoe at a junk yard. If urs is older then u need a couple more parts unless u use the corresponding center cont for ur year
@@sanjuan240 Nice! Once the weather clears up out here, ima hit up the local junk yard and see if they an 04 Tahoe. My truck is similar to yours, except its a 1500 crew cab. Same color though. Definitely using truck as a reference when selecting a color theme. Thanks for the response and ill be subscribing!
Jason tahoe and Silverado 03-06 all have the center console I installed.
I have a 98 Silverado single cab with a 60/40 split seat that has a cold down armrest with no cup holders! I hate it but love my tuck! Can I do this to my 98!?!? If I just change the bottom console pieces like you used, because my dash looks very similar LMK MAN THANKS FOR SHARING
Thanks for the video I got a question on removing the glove box door, I see you drilled out some rivets, is that all you remove to take the glove box door off or is there any bolts ,
That’s so you can keep your truck information that’s on your orginal glove box. You don’t have to do it

If you want it to look OEM yeah. Otherwise you can trim your original one
Nice truck I have just about the same truck same color but mines a 03 with the 06 hood and grill But I have little jump seat in the center but it doesn't move. I wanna do this console setup, I hate not having anything there
Frank M assuming urs is 03-06 like mine then you would just need everything I mentioned in the video. Mine also originally had that jumó seat that just folded up and down.

Sorry man mine came all electric so I wouldn’t know how to. I want to say you might need a complete interior harness if you want to do it the right way but I’m not sure
Where the mirrors plug and play or did you have to run another wire harness for them to fold?
Titan92 so I’ve been hearing a couple of things. As long as ur truck is a 03-07 classic it’s plug and play. If it’s older then you need to do some wiring. I might have got lucky on mine.

Is it possible to just do the swap the center seat for a console?
You can but the side panels won’t line up right and it will look weird. Think you have to cut them also a little so the console fits

Yeah you have to change the panel i showed otherwise the center console and glovebox don’t line up right

Do you what exact togglet switches you have and which mirrors you have?
Mine came out of a Tahoe. Power adjustment, power folding, puddle lights, turn signal . The mirror adjustment should have a picture like the one mine has. Supposedly it’s plug and play if your have a 04 and up but I’m not sure.

Kona Production NBS (new body style)=the 99-07 Silverado body style. I believe in 07 they made some of both body styles if that makes sense. For the sake of giving you a straight answer this center console that I used is from a 03-06.

GMC Trucks just the inside panels. They were in better condition then my old ones
I want to do this swap but the rear radio controls and the ones with radio and rear HVAC are useless to me even though I have an extended cab. It looks tacky. Is there any way around this?

What year is the power switch from?
Max T 2003 Tahoe LT. I pretty much grabbed everything I could afford. Center console, door panels,side mirrros, and the switch

I want to swap my jump seat for a console in my 2000. Process mostly similar there?
Son Goku it depends if you go with a 99-02 style center console then yeah easy. If you go with a 03-06 style(the one I installed) it might need a little more work. I think the cluster bezel is different so you would need that part of a 03-06. Once you have that you might have to move your ac buttons around, also get the radio bucket of it and possibly do some wiring for the cigarette ports(if your doesn’t have them).
sanjuan240 I have cigarette ports which is a big part of what I was worried about. Also if I’m not mistaken didn’t they come with a sub built into the console? How hard would that be to wire? Thanks bud.
Son Goku cigarette ports should work then just extend the wires if you need too. 03-06 yes They do have a sub.(I heard it sucks though). If you decide to wire it in I would think you would need a aftermarket stereo(better way) Or tap Into the rear speakers maybe.

Yo bro whats up I have a question I recently bought some power mirrors like yours with turn signal and all that to install on my 03 Tahoe it’s an Ls.Which means it does not come with those mirrors.But the mirrors that I bought, I believe they are from an 03 and 04 year so they are not same from the same truck. They are also plug and play and also my driver side switch is the oem one like u showed in video.And it also has the power fold in switch but it does not light up like yours do I need the Lt switch like when u said u got them for a 03 Tahoe Lt if u can help with anything thx and great video keep up the good work!!!💯💯
MR Unknown do the turn mirror turn signals and puddle light work?? If those work the the folding option lights up if the left and right arrow switch is right in middle. Maybe play around with the left/right switch.
sanjuan240 yeah they work puddle and signals but no sign of the power folding and light comes up I tried holding them down right side for the fold in but no luck
MR Unknown it’s kinda hard to help without having the car in front of me but I will toss you some ideas. Your Tahoe is a 03 which is basically the same thing as my truck. The fact that the turn signals and puddle light work ( assuming ur tahoe originally didn’t come with it) is telling me the folding switch is broke. I would swap it with one of your buddies to confirm. Another possibility is that you might have to get the ecu “Programmed” for the folding option (since yours never came with that option)

I don’t think I did for this swap just use some common sense when dealing with connectors. If it was something else like cutting wires I would have un plugged it

playboa a depends with what center console you go with?? The 99-02 center console and glove box part. The 03-07 center console (what mine is) all the parts I mentioned in the video plus the 03-07 dash bezel and radio/climate control bucket.

El Cuh if your is the same body style as mine it probably plug and play too. I know in 07 they had both body styles come out, the NBS and NNBS.

Yea they do they just blink fast. You can add in a resistor to fix that
@@sanjuan240 I've got an 02 z71 tahoe. Pulling rear buckets. Some dash trim and console out of an 04 z71 suburban. I just like the looks of 03-06 console better than the 09-02. Would like to pull mirrors as well since the trucks are the same color. I'm am not good with electrical. Was hoping everything be plug and play.
@@dakotasimpson1883 I’m not sure if it will be plug and play. I know on there trucks the 99-02 body harness is different from the 03-06. I’m not sure on the Tahoe though maybe grab the body harness and body ecu too. I’m not familiar with your Tahoe

@@orlandosnbsv8799 honestly I’m not sure with the Yukon Denali console. If it’s the same as mine then that piece really helps a lot so it’s not flimsy and tight in place. I’m sure you can install without it but I can see it being loose

I’m glad I saw this video before I ordered the console. Now please answer me this. Do I need to replace the glove box area and the piece under the dash? Or it won’t fit with the stock glove box? This video is a perfect explanation of what I need to do
Esteban Martinez you NEED the glove box part that’s off a truck with a center console other wise it won’t fit right. Depends where your buying it from but most people sell the center console and the glove box part together

Alfred Randell it’s does get in the way sometimes but it’s the same process just make sure you have the center seat and glove box with cigarette ports. If your in Dallas and want to buy my old brown setup let me know.

Man that has to be one of the most uncomfortable truck to drive with no center console armrest and no seat armrest. I could never drive that like that.
