The Essence of Bushcraft ~ Make oneself at Home in the Woods
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 гру 2024
- Nature chill vibes at the Bushcraft camp! After making fire with Flint & Steel, a tasty bushcraft meal and good night's sleep in the hammock, it's time for some crafts in the forest. I make a woodworking table (bowlmate) and carve a Kuksa cup. The Kuksa mortal is used with a quickly crafted pestle to make a fresh wild garlic pesto with bread on a stick. It has been a great day in the Forest.

Just wanted to say: Those are some crazy beautiful camerashots!
In this time we all need videos like this. Thank you.
I am a little tired of people trying to be critical of everybody trying to talk about how they do their Bushcraft... the fact that you are out there and actually doing it... Gives you street cred! I appreciate what you're doing, I enjoy your videos, please keep them coming! People who are critics need to realize that these videos aren't meant to be a one-and-done... if you pick up one or two hints on how you can improve your own options, good for you. He might not live in the same climate or area that you do... if you can leave his video with one thing that improves your Bushcraft... You should be happy and give him a thumbs up!! this is not about perfection for your situation... this is about teaching you what other people do in other situations that works for them... I appreciate that he reminded me to restock my bag with some items that I should have otherwise had in there... Thanks! My kids like this stuff too!
Some really good stuff there Julius. That kuksa really turned out nice. Thanks for sharing this.
#1 bushcraft channel. Change my mind.
Happy Easter from australia watching you cook simple food made me hungry just to add i suffer from anxiety and depression and watching your adventures with the sounds of the bush always has me feeling calm and relaxed has me thinking of the days when used to go down the river and just sit and absorb nature's gifts keep up the good work guys your public loves you
Yay for lentils, the "poor man's meat." Greetings from Northern Alberta.
I like it but now I am allergic to it
@@redactedcanceledcensored6890 Greetings from Southern Alberta ;)
Great video as always. I love the obvious effort you have put into cinematography recently, seems more like the quality of a David Attenborough film than a UA-cam short.
I agree!
Man.. it is a gem. For filmmaking and how informative it is.
That opening scene, breathtaking!
I really prefer the videos when Julius is alone, it's so much more informative and calm
I like the commentary presentation. I have never seen you guys do this before, sorry if I missed it. I think it is a great format, I hope to see more videos like this.
I agree, this format is amazing.
This is good human content
I can't wait for you guys to reach 1 million you really deserve it
Impressed with the pesto! Well done!
Probably one of your best videos yet
Sycamore is the best choice for the Kuksa as its a wood that contains zero toxins and is safe for making eating and drinking utensils, nice job.
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on bushcraft and spending time outdoors. Well done! You have gained another subscriber!👍🏻
Being isolated by myself for weeks now, it was a refreshing break to watch your video. Thank you and God bless you.
Pat from southern Indiana 😊
I really enjoyed this one Julius and that pesto... I swear that I was drooling. Beautifully shot too. I used to bring a squash (butternut or acorn) when camping as they're not heavy and you can just put them on the side of the fire. Cut in half, scooped out and with some olive oil, delicious. Or filled with wild garlic pesto!
No jokes today?;P Nice one!:) P.s. Will bring a butternut squash some day soon;)
Thank you massively enjoyed that , I learnt some things, I’ve a lot of experience in cooking professionally outdoors, a little tip if you fry your lentils briefly first you’ll cook the cooking time hugely. Take care and thank you. Mark
the quality of this chnnel gets better and better
Production quality is absolutely beautiful on this one! Great video
Cup came out nice and the handle looks really good.
I very very much like this video style you have developed. The shots, info and commentary are fantastic.
Great stuff, I love this style of video.
Loved the commentary...so peaceful after my long day at work....be sure to tell Dylan (spelling) that we miss seeing him
The both of us will be heading out today again;) Stay tuned!
I love lentils and wheat.
This is a great video.
You are a legend Julius!
Hello mister Immler the Master Craftsman:)
I love the you made the things so easy.
Amazing wood carving...
So relaxing
There is always more to learn. I've never seen bread baked like this. Next time I have to try it. (Say tomorrow.)
Thank you, it was great to sit back and watch your video. These films make social media far superb of TV.
Good luck, have fun!
Awesome video man! Beautiful camera shots! You definitely captured the essence of Bushcraft 👍👍
I love this video. Your camp is amazing and the kuksa looks really great.
As a vegan, it is so nice to see a bushcrafter cook something other than a dead carcass. Loved the video! Cheers
As a person it was nice to see a Bush crafter cook for other types of diets. (Corrected your post for you, after all you don't want to fall in to the generalisation of how do you know when someone is a vegan, they tell you in the first minute)
the clamp design is clever
Very clever.. Thank you I enjoyed the video.
You're really amazing, Julius!
the sound of the forest is enough to help with depression reason enough to watch it but also interesting
Just amazing
Thank you so much. Good explaining carving the kuksa and pesto. Looked like a yummy meal. I have been enjoying you for a while now.
Good skill to learn.

Great video my friend, so relaxing. What a beautiful carving and the kuksa looks amazing! I wish I had the energy and the strength to carve, I'm getting too frustrated too quickly haha.
You can do it!! Just start with something simpel;)
It's so Goot just to watch a skilled craftsman work. Well done mate. Keep em comming

Nice cup you carved!
Educational and interesting video, thanks for sharing.
These are the videos we all need during these times.. I literally zone out and i’m happy watching you be you.
Is that axe GF? If anyone can assist let me know thank you!
It is a Gransfors, fine axe, but for the price-quality I think I wouldn't have bought it nowadays.
Smooth Gefixt what do you suggest? I really like the Hults Bruk Akka or Kisa
Unfortunately I have to little experience with other axe brands, what you could also do is find an old second hand axe and restore it;)
U should do a short video on the oiling and conintious care of the stuff u carve. Great video as always food looked delicious
Great video that turned out amazing !!!
Great video as always, Julius. You go from clarity to clarity! It's funny you decided for a kåsa (swedish) as a project for this video, since I decided earlier today that that should be my next crafting project aswell! Now I got even more inspiration than I had before to start it up, and also som great tips for design and how to get it done.
That's an honor to hear, success with the project!:)
Great video sir!!! Please do more during these times.
I have a challange for the 2 of you: make spoons/Kuksa without the help of a bowl carving knife (or any other tool for that matter, except of course your axe, saw, and bushcraft knife).
Awesome video!
Nice work!
Great video, i really enjoy the bushcraft vids
You're carving skills have come a long way Julius! I'm amazed with what you are producing these days, also the video qualities and filming just get better and better! Keep up the great work!!!! :D
This vid is great !
One of your best videos so far I think! Quality for sure! Gonna share it with my friends to fall in love with bushcrafting ;) Thank you
Cool stuff!:)
This is great! I learned a lot. And keep up the good work.
Great vid mate! In Australia we call a simple bush bread like that damper and it was traditionally cooked in the coals.
loved the video like always i would love to see more series type videos like challenges or just a few days in the woods again those are my favorite types but i also like the ones where you show how to make items like this one.

Could you tell me where to buy a flint and steel kit just like yours in this video? Thanks.
Bollox to Patron but that was a great film 👍. I always enjoy your stuff but this one was really top notch. A good feel to it. No need to fast forward and the red squirrel shots were ace 🙂👍. Nice one, keep safe fella
perfect video!
