    Wow! that was connector was a mess. It looks like the tech did a real crappy repair. I hope you get paid for this disaster . I’ll assume a lot of auction cars are a challenge to say the least . Thanks for sharing 👍

    Nice work. I like the add about checking voltage at the ac amplifier, that would have been a good test. One could also attempt to create a duty cycle to get the fan to turn on.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  3 місяці тому +7

      Good point! I didn't feel the need too because it was a new fan and I clearly saw there was no signal.

    TYVM for taking the time to put this video out. I envy your patience. I started wrenching in the 70s and over the decades my patience has diminished. Virtually anything under the dash is already a pain in the butt. I can’t even imagine doing under the dash work and video recording it....
    Good work.

    Could you have put power to the blower motor wire at the ac amplifier to see if it would have came on? Im sure whatever was tapped into those wires was the cause of all the issues

    They see you are on the right track.They try to use their shop mechanic to save a buck.Shop mechanic need to take an electrical course because he is making things worse guessing at it.I think I would just walk away from that one because the shop mechanic is going to cause that car to go up in smoke.FIRE❗❗❗

    I was going to say something snarky about the dealership saying that it needed a whole harness but if they don’t even have the connector than I can see there logic.

    When you tested the fan and found that the power and ground were both good, why was the fan not running since it had power? Just trying to understand how the system works.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics

      It has a module built in that it will only turn on when it has a PWM signal going to the middle pin.

      @@advancedleveldiagnostics dose that scope have signal injecting. I use my DSO213 on ABS wheel speed connectors w/scanner, etc.. Maybe try for turn fan on at motor for quick verification.

    @calholli 3 місяці тому

    Yeah.. I was going to say-- just get a connector from a salvage yard or fl333Bay and be done with it. The one thing I would have done is to back probe a little jumper into the connector and tie it to your wire and make sure it works before making a call. I guess you probably did it off camera

      For sure. Exact reason why I will never again work under the dash of any Jeep wrangler type again. Had to replace a bunch of stuff, heater core, blower motor , switches, cables, gauges etc. Screwed up my left shoulder big time. Most painful experience I’ve ever had.

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
