  • We have here a 2015 Ford Transit that's running rough. The previous shop said the problem was the injectors were staying on. They replaced the injectors and the PCM, but then they gave up. The issue ends up being with the VVT (P0013). Hope you enjoy!

    Awesome efficient diag process. Can't beat a test light and wiggle check for tracing those shorts to ground! Sad to see the PCM and injector Parts Cannon before you got there and fixed it NO PARTS REQUIRED :)

    If the Ford door chime was ment to get hour attention they should receive an award.
    I respect your decision at the beginning "Not" to go down the rabbit hole of following the other shops work😊

    Saved a lot of time by understanding the short to ground could be proven by disconnecting the computer. Perfect pivotal test, light stays on its the circuit, goes off and we’re looking at the computer.

    Please keep the videos coming. I’ve been a tech for over 20 years. Chasing down and diagnosing electrical issues is what I love to do. Just watching you guys use all of the special tools to narrow down and identify the problems are truly amazing. I always told my customers that normally a wire issue can be found quickly or it will take a while. Good work guys.

    Great diagnosis and fix ! WHAT type of story does the other shop tell the customer after the PCM and injectors and it does the exact SAME thing ?

  • @unencumbered

    Well done!
    A good argument against an overlay...the other wire may have created a problem in the future. Obviously more time in locating the short but results in a complete job.
    Keep the diags coming my friend!

    Glad you found the problem (and others too!) So many are quick to run a wire not realizing there could be collateral damage in the area.

    Nice job on fixing the problem. I watch these videos to learn from . Saves me a lot of money .. seems like i heard check points of contact on wiring harness..... i watched a fellow take a pair of wires and twist them up in a drill to be used as a splice. Repair on a can networks. C can i think . He just spliced in the wires in the harness . Saved a lot of money . I appreciate these videos thanks

    I have been watching your channel for a while. Of course I’m subscribed. The wife must b smiling on u. No more raggedy Suburban. Every Scan Tool, Computer, All Data subscription and Identifix that money can buy for our Tech. Cost? Don’t sweat it, u can’t take it with u. And a proper truck to haul all the goodies. Good show!!!!! I watch and enjoy all the vids. This one was fun. I would have taken that bolt stud out and thrown it as far as I could. Replace with a regular bolt. I bet that shop loves u.

    I wonder if that valve cover bolt with stud was in the incorrect location or if there used to be a harness clip attached to it.
    Great Diag!!!!

  • @2491kridge

    I’d be curious if that yellow wire was the cause of the injector circuit open code as well. Also did you tell him he needs a purge valve for the classic cannot bleed fuel tank vacuum lol

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  11 місяців тому +2

      The injector code was because #6 injector was unplugged. I think they saw the car running rich because of the timing so they assumed it was an injector issue. As for the bleed down code I completely forgot about it, until now😂

    • @advancedleveldiagnostics
      @advancedleveldiagnostics  11 місяців тому +1

      I don't know if the customer had to pay or not, it was in a different shop. It's also possible that it needed injectors and they built in this problem when they took it apart.
