Here's a clever, often-missed dialogue repetition from this particular "I Saw You" episode: Early in the episode, Nathaniel is telling a bartender the sad story of a failed architect who died of "hubris." He states, "That's me, by the way...the dead man in the story." Bartender: "Yeah, I got that." Nathaniel: "I just wanted to be clear." This dialogue is repeated, practically word-for-word, when Jesus is telling Nathaniel he will see, "...Heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man....that's me, by the way." Nathaniel replies, "Yeah, I got that." Jesus: "Good. I know you like to be clear."
Yes, when Yeshua says, “I saw you under the fig tree”, I also felt it deeply because that means that he sees me, and hears me. When he told Mary that she’s forgiven, I hear him tell the same to us. These things are so powerful because they're so profound.
Two years ago,I remember putting my faith in God telling him "my life is in your hands now"and beautiful things has happened but I couldnt imagine it was actually God helping a sinner like me. Then after questioning and coming to a realization if Jesus is God, I was given his Grace. I got something I thought I was never worth getting and I got it so easily after daydreaming about it. When I wondered, like I always do, was this God, but then I instantly knew it was Jesus. I fell and begged for forgiveness. I finally understood what Nathaniel felt. Jesus has been caring for me. For the last two years after putting my faith in God, he slowly led me to his arms. Lord have mercy on me. I love you Jesus
I love how The Chosen just brings the black and white, and red words to "life". I shed a tear or two every episode, no matter how many times I have seen them.
I've heard that Jenkins is going to do it in a way that is still "family friendly", which to me means it won't be as excruciating as in Passion of the Christ. That said, in my opinion, it does need to be graphic enough that we feel it deeply, be cause in feeling it, it drives home how deeply God loves us and what he was willing to suffer that we might be saved. Be cause we love Jonathan's portrayal of Jesus and connect so deeply with it, it will (and I think should) be hard. Just like Simon had to keep his eyes on Jesus or sink, we need to keep our deeper focus on the resurrection.
The explanation of the word Nazareth is mind blowing!! And the final piece of info about He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber no sleep. Awesome!
When I was watching it for the first time, I thought Nathanael was gonna faint. My reaction with crying was the same as yours. This show is so powerful
That scene with Nathaniel. I relate 1000 times. This past year I was dismissed from my job of 18 years. I was loyal to a fault, but covid gave them the opportunity to get rid of people. And I have MS never took time off but they are self insured my medications cost close to $200k so I cost them too much. The job was my life, my family, and then I was shut out. I felt his heart, his sadness, his discouragement everything
God sees and hears everything that’s happening to you just like with Hagar. He’s a God of justice. He will repay. They should not have touched the Lords anointed. You are the apple of His eye, His beloved child, and He will make it right. Glad the show helped. I pray for your healing and provision in Jesus Name Amen.
Aw, that must have been really hard. Hope you are feeling better and trying to gather all the broken heart pieces to put at the Lord's feet. He is an expert in giving Brand NEW Start given any situation and circumstance. He SAW you when they dismissed you and when you were in that car driving back home with tears in the eyes. He did not turn His face from you!
It is mine as well. In fact, I just rewatched this episode as it is my favorite thus far. Probably because I struggled at one time as to whether God saw me or not.
Once again, your observations are a welcome addition to an already-engaging show. Your senses of humor combined with Biblical knowledge, grounded in a Jewish tradition and perspective, add a deeper richness to many Biblical narratives that are often simply glossed over. I do look forward to your future commentaries as you begin to plow through Season one. 👍
As a gentile, everytime i watch Grafted feels like reading and scouring over obscure footnotes of the bible that i would have never known. See, context! Context everyone! Thank you!
I have two adult daughters with autism, and that scene where Matthew draws the circle with his self-awareness just gets me every time. And the way Philip follows it up, just…😍.
When I first saw Nathanial's conversion - I knew it was one of my favorite moments and I am a huge fan of this series. I cried and cried because I could relate to it. I loved how you explained how they used a psalm and wove it through Nathanials desperate and frustrated cry out to the Lord - that was amazing and I would never have known it had I not watched you guys. The other was when you explained in more depth the meaning of the word Nazareth. A messianic branch - wow!! Thank you so much for making these videos - it's such a blessing to pick up a little bit of your deeper knowledge about a show I cannot get enough of. Thank you and God bless you both!
This is my favorite episode of Season 2. I've watched it many times -- especially the last part, where Nathaniel meets Jesus. I cry every time. How good our God is.
This show has had a profound impact on me! I feel so close to Jesus, I am learning how to better Pray and all around be a better man of God! I have been asking all of my Family and Friends to watch the show with their Families! GLORY TO GOD IN ALL THINGS! I am so very thankful for this show! I am a sinful man, we all have a vice or two that we just can't seem to shake. . . . . I know I can overcome those temptations and repent! Thank God!!!!
Learned a lot from you in this post especially when you explained about the Hebrew word for "work". It made me realize that everything we do must bring honor and glory to God. Thanks for this awesome reminder! Looking forward for your reviews on other Chosen episodes. Shalom guys! =)
I love the wealth of knowledge you 2 bring to us that so brings us deeper understanding of our Lord Jesus and the 12 young men who said “yes” and helped to change the world. Thank you!
Peggy ~ AMEN! l'm a _huge_ predestination/sovereignty of God person. HE does _everything!_ EVerything! Even when we cry out to pray ...''Lord, have mercy for me, the wretched sinner'' ...HE has compelled that TOO! You cannot CHOOSE God! HE _chooses_ YOU! _ALL GLORY_ goes to The KING of kings, and LORD of lords!
This is soooooo good. Ty ty ty ty guys. You make the Chosen soooo much richer to me. Your explanation of starting out with starter prayer, he didn’t feel it, then trying another prayer, then that’s not working, then Ps102 (which I never realized that’s what it was) …man I make that progression lots of times in difficult situations and you have sooo encouraged me that others go through that. Also work and worship is the same Hebrew word. O so many things thank you. Looking forward to the other episode reviews
The music in this show is perfect. The moment that Jesus tells Nathaniel "I did not turn my face from you", the sound, beat, everything seems to suggest a shift of epic proportions beginning in Nathaniel's soul. Something shocked him, and he changed inside, turned around, realised suddenly. Something. How can you portray that visually? You can't. The Soul is difficult to describe with words, and impossible to see. Music is the language of the soul, just as Poetry is the language of the heart and prose the language of the head. So there was a change in the music. To experience what Nathaniel felt, the music makes us feel it too. Then: "I saw you... under the fig tree". And another shift in the music, a revelation feel comes through, mirrors with Nathaniel's expression. They used the music in this series perfectly. In time and in touch with the scene being shown, so that our head is understanding the story, our hearts are understanding the story... and so are our souls.
Gah, I was brought to tears again seeing Nathaniel and Jesus a second time. Anyone who has ever been in such an honest place of lowness and had the LORD meet them and show them HE KNOWS them....can't watch without bawling ;) Love this episode, guys.
I can't wait for season 3, these episode have been so meaningful to watch. I love coming here as well and listening to your explanations and historic point outs from the film. Showing just how much research The Chosen production did. I'm so proud to support this series and watch your channel. Thank you
I got serious goose pimples when you guys were explaining about Nathaniel under the fig tree and Psalm 102, because I knew what was coming later when Nathaniel met Jesus. Yes, I cried again here too ❤️ (Edit - and I didn’t know anything about it being from a Psalm until you guys just told us and I connected that with what Jesus would say to Nathaniel. Double whammy of 😭)
I have read almost all the Bible several times but I didn't recall this battle in Ezekiel. I probably read through it quickly. I do hate violence so, and probably just didn't get it.
Just binged the first two seasons and have to wait a few days for season three. I was hesitant about watching because so much is fictional or rearranged, but after watching many clips with your commentary I decided to dive in. Loving it so much. I think John the Baptist is one of my favorite characters. :)
I have had a moment like Nathaniel. When I was at one of my lowest moments I wondered if God could even see me? If he could even hear me? The Lord answered me. He sees me and hears me always. He will never leave me nor forsake me. I love the Lord dearly.
I wasn't going to make another comment but I have to now. "Come and see" Made me realize what the Lord has had to see all The things Ive gone through(for 15 years) The extreme lengths I went to to make sure my family didn't have to see, my best friend's andmy loved ones everyone didn't have to WATCH ANY of it(95%)!!!!! However the one I love the most had to see every moment of all of it! 😭 If I had never watched this reaction video I'd probably never would have realized I had forgotten that the Lord had to watch all of that on purpose to ease the pain. 🥺 God bless you both
Loved the watchman/branch info -- God really does wonderfully weave things together. Continuing in that vein, as a food historian, I've always been delighted by the fact the the English word Lord comes from the Old English hlaford -- hlaf being where we get our word "loaf" -- the Lord being the keeper of the loaf or bread. So even in English, that wonderful connection of the meaning of words is kept.
Thank you for sharing your reaction to another episode. I learn so much from you every time. This was a great episode. The emotion Matthew shows when he draws the circle is very endearing. Philip’s character is awesome. He’s the laid back, cool, mature guy and the perfect apostle. He’s so ‘real’ in his faith, his love and passion for the messiah above all else. Nathaniel’s emotion and instant recognition of Jesus as the son of God is precious.
I’ve enjoyed all your videos but this one was especially good - so much good information that really adds a lot and makes the episode even more meaningful. Loved the explanation of Nathanael’s desperate prayer and Psalm 102. Thanks so much for doing these
Thank you so much for your perspective, I was moved to tears also at the scene with Nathaniel under the fig tree. I also had a similar experience years ago when I was at a low point in my life. It is truly amazing to know He sees me.🙏🏻
Loved the Nazareth insights! Never heard that before. And again - was bawling along with you in that final scene of Jesus telling Nathanael He saw him under the fig tree. My heart!!!
God bless you brothers 😊 I love your sincerity and love for our Lord and Savior Yeshua 😃 You are both such humble men and it gives me hope in God that there are true men in the world who love Jesus and desire to live their life completely for Jesus!!
Love you guys! Love the background that you’re giving us of Jewish scripture and prophesy! Traditions and customs. And, it just hit me that Jesus saying, “ That’s me, by the way,” is an echo of what Nathaniel said to the bartender when he was telling his story. “ That’s me, by the way. I like to be clear.” Obviously, I’m a super fan of the Chosen. This amazing portrayal of our Christ has brought me so much closer to Him, because it is just as I always imagined Him, since I was a child. I feel that I know Him in a way that I never have before. He has become so real to me, as never before. I can’t write this without getting emotional. Thank you both for what you’re doing!
OMG That was so AWESOME guys ! Watching your discussion is getting to be just as heavenly as watching The Chosen !! Don't stop. Love you guys. God Bless Grafted. I'm learning so much about the history of the Bible.
Thank you so much for reacting to this episode... it is such a beautiful one, one of my favs from season 2. I so appreciate your comments and insight, this one was especially insightful. I think you all are my favorite reaction videos of this amazing show. Keep up the good work!
From the beginning, Matthew had my heart. His G-d given gifts alienated him from everyone. Until Yeshua enlisted him into a religious faction which alienates him even more. Enter Nathaniel, and his "grief-case" . Such beautiful words, include your hear to me, letting us know that he has talked with Yaeshua often, the heartache of no response. So powerful. Both men's gifts alienated them from society. Truly love the phrase, Psalms honest! Interesting. Great episode. As I watch and rewatch these episodes, my heart is quietly aching for the season 3, and so fearful for what is to come. I pray for strength for all of us.
I just watched this episode & wanted to watch it with you guys again. It gets me every time Yeshua says that He saw him. It reminds me that He sees me too!! Thank you guys!! I can’t wait to watch season 4 with you, whenever that is. I’m so glad I was able to see it in the theater.
Thank you Sam and Tom for your focus on Psalm 102. You guys made such a great "brush stroke" on my mind. I am going to soak in prayer with this Psalm. I am going through some tough emotional/spiritual struggles with my adult children. I love how you two just stayed on this scene. Great reaction video.....keep keeping on!
WOW! Thank you so much for revisiting this episode. It really is a blessing for me and hope for so many others who watch your page. God Bless you both and so as THE CHOSEN.
You guys are something else! 😃 Yes, I love your commentaries. AND... Thank you for wearing your hearts on your sleeves. I, too, am moved so often throughout The Chosen to tears of wonder and worship. So blessed to know we are Forever Family.
Loved this episode of The Chosen and enjoyed watching it with you. You really add so much especially the connection to the Psalms and the background on Nazareth. Wonderful!
i like how Yeshua revealed that He was the One to whom Nathanial was praying to...Nathanial was praying for the Lord to not look away, and here's Yeshua saying that He did not look away...that He saw him under the fig tree...a straight on declaration of WHO He is backed up with proof on a personal level...wow
The chosen has done a number on my faith and my understanding of Biblical matters i see so much beauty .... And i totally love what you guys do with your breakdowns and your tears are so truthful thank you so much
A friend of mine told me about The Chosen, and you guys. I’ve been working my way,, in order, through all of your posts, and am enjoying all of them. I’m so thankful to know about your ministry. I’ve learned so much biblical and cultural history in the past month, which has pulled me more into not just re-reading scripture, but studying it. Listening to / watching you guys is like hanging out with friends who love Jesus; with all the excitement, tears and laughs that go along with it. Thank you for all you are doing to draw people of the world to our Savior.
Wonderful insight and teaching! I learned a few things. :) Every episode you make becomes my favorite one! Just keeps getting better. Thanks and blessings!
Something I didn't catch until my third or fourth viewing of this episode. When Nathaniel is in the bar in the early part of the episode, telling his story, he says, "It's me, by the way. I'm the dead man in the story." And the bartender answers, "Yeah, I got that." Then in that ending scene, Jesus says Nathaniel will see the angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man, adding, "That's me, by the way," and Nathaniel responds, "Yeah, I got that." I love how they mirrored things with those exact same words, and I'm surprised I didn't catch it sooner. I have loved many scenes in Season 2 (the beatitudes brought me to tears), but I think Episode 2 is my favorite overall episode, especially Nathaniel's story. Thanks again for doing these reaction videos. I love learning from your perspectives.
Knowing God doesn't turn his face from me is overwhelming. When I became a Christian and knowing he sees me always no matter what I've done is overwhelming. You never forget that moment.
The part that I loved about this clip is the way Phillip immediately jumps in to stop Simons cruelty towards Matthew and shows Gods goodness and Grace. All without condemning or shaming anyone.
Oh how comforting is your insight on Nathaniel's distress. I especially like Sam saying to start with what is familiar, digging deeper until you reach your heart's cry. That's just profound. Bless you, both 🥹 Greetings from the Philippines 👋
I am.a Chosen fanatic becuase I felt that I was in that century.. I felt God spoken to me in every episode. 🙏 I love how you guys explained it well in a Biblical way.. Love your show..
Ahh ok, I was wondering why Jesus made that statement about him liking to be clear. Now I can see the link. Thank you!
Wow. I didn't pick up on that. Cool.
Woah! I never caught that before! That's awesome! 😊👍♥
One of my favorite scenes
Picked up on that on the third watching. The scripts for this show are excellent and filled with amazing little details like that.
Yes, when Yeshua says, “I saw you under the fig tree”, I also felt it deeply because that means that he sees me, and hears me. When he told Mary that she’s forgiven, I hear him tell the same to us. These things are so powerful because they're so profound.
... and true ....
Jehovah Roi is the God who sees me🙏🏾
May the Lord Jesus forever Bless you 🙏

same with me. I´m always watching them react too. Greetings from Germany
The box of kleenex is getting low....we cry too. I don't know if I can handle the crucifixion.....
I've never cried like a baby so many times to a single show before
@@Tazbocat seeing Jonathon Roumie get crucified is going to be terrible.
I've heard that Jenkins is going to do it in a way that is still "family friendly", which to me means it won't be as excruciating as in Passion of the Christ. Yes I''m learning more.
Your crying, I'm crying, we're all crying... sometimes crying is contagious. Especially if it's a happy cry.
I always cry with Sam and Tom. Love these guys.
When my heart is full my eyes overflow.
🥲 Happy Cry
When I was watching it for the first time, I thought Nathanael was gonna faint. My reaction with crying was the same as yours. This show is so powerful
That scene with Nathaniel. I relate 1000 times. This past year I was dismissed from my job of 18 years. I was loyal to a fault, but covid gave them the opportunity to get rid of people. And I have MS never took time off but they are self insured my medications cost close to $200k so I cost them too much. The job was my life, my family, and then I was shut out. When Nathanial meets Jesus - my absolute favorite part of the entire series so far... tears every time. Thank you guys. We love your insights.
It is mine as well. In fact, I just rewatched this episode as it is my favorite thus far. Probably because I struggled at one time as to whether God saw me or not.

Ditto, well said! 💜
The essence of what I was thinking and you said it perfectly, with a cherry on top.
As a gentile, everytime i watch Grafted feels like reading and scouring over obscure footnotes of the bible that i would have never known. See, context! Context everyone!
Thank you!
Austin Reed Alleman is an incredible actor that can speak volumes with his facial expressions. So good.
I have two adult daughters with autism, and that scene where Matthew draws the circle with his self-awareness just gets me every time. And the way Philip follows it up, just…😍.
God bless you, Sophia! I’m, too, a parent of a son on the spectrum. God bless our precious children may God use them for the glory of His Kingdom 🙌❤️🙏
When I first saw Nathanial's conversion - I knew it was one of my favorite moments and I am a huge fan of this series. I cried and cried because I could relate to it.

This is my favorite episode of Season 2. I've watched it many times -- especially the last part, where Nathaniel meets Jesus. I cry every time. How good our God is.
Mine too.
Sam, loved what you said….”welcome to the real different!” Dallas should put that on a shirt!!!
Do you see me ? Man, how often have I cried out like that. Nathaniel under the tree is my favorite scene in the show.
This is my favorite episode...to know that God sees me at my lowest point
Welcome to the "real different." I love it!
Time can't go fast enough!! I love what you guys bring to the episodes!
This show has had a profound impact on me! I feel so close to Jesus, I am learning how to better Pray and all around be a better man of God! Don’t look at him, look at Me! Oh my heart, that means so much to me.
Learned a lot from you in this post especially when you explained about the Hebrew word for "work". It made me realize that everything we do must bring honor and glory to God. Thanks for this awesome reminder! Looking forward for your reviews on other Chosen episodes. Shalom guys! =)
Dear Tom I can see why that would hit home for you . Bless you, for your heart is with Jesus always and He sees you!!!
Wow the impute about Nazareth was just awesome! God does like the details huh ? 😍
I really appreciate your insight as messianic teachers. You help us to have a deeper grasp of the Word in The Chosen. Thank you.
I love the wealth of knowledge you 2 bring to us that so brings us deeper understanding of our Lord Jesus and the 12 young men who said “yes” and helped to change the world. Thank you!
Everyone who believes in Yeshua/Jesus is chosen, Ephesians 1. Predestined.
Peggy ~ AMEN! l'm a _huge_ predestination/sovereignty of God person. HE does _everything!_ EVerything! Also work and worship is the same Hebrew word. O so many things thank you. Looking forward to the other episode reviews
I love your explanations. They add so much to the enjoyment of The Chosen. Thank you.
I LOVE how you two LOVE our Lord so very deeply and tenderly. It gives me such hope to not be alone. He Lives for sure!

I cried with you both. Come and see. Wow Thank you
Nathaniel gets salvation and a job offer in one shot I love it

You both are amazing! I love your heart for our Messiah!
Oooh. Another banquet! Tom speaks, provoking rapt attention. Then Sam speaks, causing equally rapt attention. Learning so much. Thank you again.
The moment were Matthew describes the world and then himself in the world is how I felt my entire life

Thank you brothers for doing this. I’m getting more from the show by watching and listening to you.
Wow. Just wow. Your insights add so much to an already amazing series. Thank you for making these videos.
That line, when Jesus said, I saw you at your lowest moment. I did not turn my face from you. ~~~ Got me there. 😔😃♥️🙏
I love your insights guys. I love the Jewish culture so much and you give so much insight from the Hebraic perspective. Thank you.
In the meeting between Jesus and Mary Magadalene, He speaks, "I have called you by name, I have redeemed you, you are Mine! "
That brings me to tears
OMG That was so AWESOME guys ! Watching your discussion is getting to be just as heavenly as watching The Chosen !! Don't stop. Love you guys. God Bless Grafted. I'm learning so much about the history of the Bible.
Thank you for the background knowledge about Nazareth.
Great video once again, keep at it. Y’all should make a podcast, id listen to it every morning
Thank you so much for reacting to this episode... it is such a beautiful one, one of my favs from season 2. I so appreciate your comments and insight, this one was especially insightful. I think you all are my favorite reaction videos of this amazing show. Keep up the good work!
Awesome video Grafted Guys, thank you!
You two are a total blessing from God. Thank you for being so honest, helpful, and open.
So good, just so good!
I truly enjoy all your videos! Please, do Season 1 as well. :)
You both do so well in telling us with details and upeople will gain by your contributions. GOD BLESSYOU BOTH.
I so love LOVE it when Tom is moved to tears.
#realmencry
@@Grafted Yes & I'm so happy you both are the real thing. ❤️
Boy! I've been a Nathaniel for a good while.
I love your honesty.Prayers for you from Germany❤.God bless you and give you peace😇
Nathaniel!!! What a brilliant actor!
WOW! Thank you so much for revisiting this episode. It really is a blessing for me and hope for so many others who watch your page. God Bless you both and so as THE CHOSEN.
Shalom shalom! Thank you so much. I love your videos. #comeandsee
Thanks for the history lesson about the origin of Nazareth. I did not know this.
I just joined you and made you a month;y subscriber...it is my honor....thank you.
The chosen has done a number on my faith and my understanding of Biblical matters i see so much beauty .... And i totally love what you guys do with your breakdowns and your tears are so truthful thank you so much
You two are so anointed. So humble. I get so much from your elaboration and explanation. Praise God and thank you for doing this
I LOVE TO WATCH THE TWO OF YOU SO MUCH! I AM LEARNING A LOT FROM WATCHING YOU. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU!
Oh, how I love this! Heart shaking 💗
Thank you for this! I had tears, too. I feel like I just went to church with all this good word and insight. Bless you guys. Keep up the good work.
I relate to Nathaniel here. His prayer is my prayer when my world as I knew it crumbled. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I was waiting for this reaction. You guys are awesome!!!
Oh how comforting is your insight on Nathaniel's distress. I especially like Sam saying to start with what is familiar, digging deeper until you reach your heart's cry. That's just profound. Bless you, both 🥹 Greetings from the Philippines 👋
Loved the Nazareth info!
I am.a Chosen fanatic becuase I felt that I was in that century.. I felt God spoken to me in every episode. 🙏
I love how you guys explained it well in a Biblical way.. Love your show..
Thank you guys! You help me to get even more out of The Chosen. Bless you and bless all that you share from your incredibly rich cultural background.
