Check out Matthew 27:46 and Psalm 22 (then 23, 24, 25 etc) This changed alot in my perspective on what I thought were inconsistencies. ( Many old scripture phrases were invoked by their first verse)
This also makes me think of the Apostle Paul's transformation on the road to Damascus. Paul apparently was the only person who heard the Voice of Jesus. The rest heard only thunder. Now, this passage makes more sense to me! Thanks, guys, for your explanation! 😊👍🤗🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🕊
I don't care if I'm watching the actual episode or a reaction video of that episode. That scene at the end gets me every time. John watching Jesus read from the first scroll and putting 1+2+3 together from his conversation with Jesus in the scroll room. As he puts it all together in his head, he's overwhelmed emotionally.
Me too! Worship is all I feel. What does John’s Gospel say?? ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld His glory, the glory of the One and Only.
The very best part of the whole CHOSEN........WHERE the thunder roars as John writes and speaks to Mary. Then he turns and looks out the window at us. ~2000 years later we are there with him; we are participating in his story.
I just read Ps29 this morning. What a coincidence! It said ‘the voice of the Lord thundereth’. I never knew that thunder and voice is the same word in Hebrew. Please please please do all the episodes because I’ve always known that I’m missing a lot because I don’t know Hebrew or Jewish traditions so I really enjoy these insights from you. Much appreciated.
Hi sister in Christ, I don't believe there is such a thing as coincidence with God. :) More like a special, specific time appointed by God. I always have moments like this, what I would call confirmations from Him, and it just makes me amazed at how the Lord finds a way to get our attention and draw us back to Him. He has a way of revealing Himself to each and every one of us, differently. But when He speaks to you personally, you will know it is His voice you are listening to.
I haven't been afraid of storms ever since watching this. We moved to MO where it THUNDERS! I woke up to it thundering and lightning over the lake and I sat up like a little kid and said, I see you over there, thank You for being with me! (smiling my ears off!)
As a Torah keeper, I have also just been amazed at how God is speaking through this show. I was expecting the regular Protestant Catholic "Jesus." I see the hand of YHVH really moving with this. I pray for the Chosen project and their continued guidance and obedience to what God is asking them to do.
Thank you for teaching us about Jewish customs, words and history. Being non Jewish and not speaking Hebrew or Aramaic, you are opening the bible up to me to see differently, just like The Chosen has done. Thunder = voice, I would have never known this plus other things you are explaining to us. Again, thanks and love your humor.

You say they are following the book of John but they are also following the book of Mark very closely too. Which is a good nod to Peter since many believe Peter told Mark the stories and Mark wrote it down. So the show is following the story from Peter and John perspective. I LOVE HOW Y'ALL TALK ABOUT THIS. THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE ,SO CALLED CHRISTIANS THAT SPEAK BAD ON THE CHOSEN. ITS HARD TO UNDERSTAND HOW THEY DONT SEE WHAT WE SEE.
Many of the naysayers are brainwashed. They only say what they were taught. They don't know how to think for themselves. So they feel defensive when they see something beyond their narrow perspective. They don't understand spiritual concepts. They basically idolize the written word more than they love the Living Word. 😪😓🙏🙏

Hi, guys, just found you, it's fun to be "part of" the discussion. I could talk for hours about every episode of The Chosen! I was wondering, you both seem a little mystified by Matthew, did you know that Dallas Jenkins said they portrayed Matthew as being on the autism spectrum? I was thrilled all the more when I heard that, it makes so much sense, both in the portrayal by Paras Patel, and in the mystery of the real Matthew, his extreme attention to detail, as well as which details were important to him. Not to mention Jesus' compassion shown this man, both in reality and in the show. This detail added to my enjoyment of the show, seeing Patel's excellent acting, and adding another dimension to the group of the Apostles. In the 1st season, I loved how Matthew's Roman guard appeared to be developing genuine affection for the strange little man. I also loved how Jesus' littlest buddies, the children, befriended Matthew when they invited him to sit on the roof so he could see Jesus. I've only watched 2 episodes of season 2, but it appears the other Apostles are just tolerating Matthew. I look forward to seeing how Matthew's story unfolds over the full 7 seasons.
I’m so glad that I’ve found your videos, especially on ‘The Chosen’. You guys bring so much more to each episode. I love how ‘The Chosen’ has brought these stories to life, and your videos bring better understanding to that! Thank you!
Thank you for helping me understand this series so much more! It has caused me to re-watch both seasons..and also "pay it forward", since I was a young Christian, (1980) I was taught to pray for the peace of Israel 🇮🇱 and the Jewish ✡ people. I've always been fascinated by Messianic Jews.. also, as a mother who lost my only 2 children within 2 years....I was blown away by your story of losing your sons and how you are healing all together. 💔🙏🦋 ...anyway, do you have a PO Box where we all could send new tiny cups and other items? God bless your ministry!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your two children. I'm glad you were able to watch the film about our story of loss. May the LORD continue to be near you and your family. As for an address for tiny cups, absolutely! Thank you so much! PO Box 19023 Lenexa, KS 66285
I Love the Chosen !! The People have became " More Personalized, Real " !! Understanding the cultures and the dynamics of the time is now for me made Clear and understood
I've watched all of the episodes of The Chosen. When you bring out things and explain the history behind the scene my eyes are opened and I see something new. I love Jewish history and culture. What you bring is incredibly educational and eye opening. Thank you so much for what you do here. Shalom!
Love all your video!. I think Simon’s tunic is short because he is short and the costume department knew a longer tunic would swallow him up and make him appear even shorter.
Yes…this is the most important story in the world to ever be told…what could ever be more impactful for the life of every man, woman & child ever born. Nothing greater, no one greater & it’s based on THE truth, the person of Jesus the Christ….thank you for your oftentimes Holy Spirit inspired commentary
I have several Christian friends at church who watch The Chosen and one of them watches your channel as well. I can't get my family to watch it yet but hopefully they will come around. Thank you for explaining the history so well.
I recently began watching and appreciate sharing the Jewish community out of which messiah came. Theologians have been emphasizing this more and more. Your discussions and insights help being that to light.
This episode of The Chosen is far and away my favorite episode. There is something so beautiful and indescribably Holy Spirit-filled here, from the beautiful book-ended scenes to the whole narrative of the Good Samaritan twist. Oh boy if the show ever gets to a level of having episodes this good consistently!
'Adding to...', in the way you are referring, and the way The Chosen adds to, doesn't change the plan of salvation, or the doctrine of the Bible, it simply makes it relatable. Grafted and The Chosen are both incredible, because I don't feel as though I'm listening to false doctrine. Since I've seen The Chosen several times, I am now binging Grafted!! =)
This stirred me up today in my Spirit. Woo hoo! Request: would you guys consider doing a video about the two types of Jewish literature mentioned at the end of this reaction vid? Of course, any new video from the Grafted guys is always exciting! Shalom!
Just found you guys. I have watched The Chosen from the beginning. As a woman who was part of a Messianic congregation for 25 years until our precious rabbi retired, I am enjoying this so much! I will continue to watch The Chosen and your insights afterwards. Blessings and Shalom.
Having just this past year become part of a Messianic congregation and starting to study Hebrew, I love how much I am learning from you both. I am so glad the Lord used The Chosen as a vehicle for you to share with us. Thank you so much for your ministry.
32:59 Re: Y'shua's repeating the I AM statement -- John's gospel is a book of signs (7 of them) and for each sign there is an I AM statement e.g., I AM the bread from heaven w/ the feeding of the 5,000+.
Yall are great! I love these videos, I came across you guys because of these videos about the Chosen. Thank you for the information you give, I love learning about the Jewish culture and about these facts about the bible. My husband was also laughing and thought you both were funny 😅 I also like some of your other teachings as well. Your helping us to understand the Hebrew and Jewish roots of faith, but as a gentile believer I also feel comfortable that even though I dont practice some of what the messianic Christians do that God still accepts our faith all the same, but I love to learn about it and gain understanding and it is very beautiful to understand the history and I can be grateful God brought us in by grace!☕ Hi from Texas!😉
Amen! We are grafted in and accepted in the Beloved, forgiven, redeemed and called by name, like Mary. Love The Chosen and learning about Jewish culture, and drawing close to Jesus.
There is nothing in this series that can legitimately be criticized. Human so we can know him and his personality! God coming down to relate in a way we can relate. As relationships go now, so they went theirs, so assumptions are needed so that we can RELATE! All I know is that this series has and is changing my life!
I've lost track of how many times I have watched The Chosen episodes. You are pointing out details that I didn't realize are there. So very meaningful! I would love to view footage of you two doing each episode.
I love your commentaries about the Chosen especially when you talk about its historical and cultural context. I am learning a lot. Pls keep on giving your comments about the series. Thank you very much.
Nice! I really like to listen to your commentary and insights of The Chosen! I’m sad you skipped the clip with the actual naming of the Sons of Thunder by Jesus, tho.
Thank you for the wonderful commentary. I am glad you mentioned about doing a commentary on the discrepancy in Matthew’s and Luke’s versions of Yeshua’s genealogy. I am looking forward to it.
I love how they cut from John speaking with Jesus about the word as the greek definition and cutting to him in that room like he was talking to someone. As seems like he is communing with God like he was there. Its precious thought God wants to fellowship with him as his friend. To talk with him like he is there in the room with you.
I love your reaction videos to The Chosen! I hope you do a lot more of them. Once all episodes of Season Two are released there will be a gap before we get any of Season Three, so you will have time to get caught up! I love the perspective you bring to the reactions, both your senses of humor and the Messianic Jewish perspective. I learn a lot from you guys.
Your commentaries, just like The Chosen, are leading us into deeper inquiry and discovery of The Real Jesus. Thanks so much for doing these deeper dives through the lens of Jewish faith and culture. My cup (my heart) is overflowing!
I found your channel through these reviews. I am also Messianic, but there aren't any of the same believers near me so I attend a Protestant church. I will be looking at more of your videos because I don't feel quite so alone. Even hearing you say Yeshua, I feel a fellowship that I miss. The reviews are also getting better the more of them you do..thank you for all of the input.
I love watching various reviews/reactions to the chosen, but you are my favorite by far. Entertaining and very educational! Count me in as one who hopes you will go back and do season 1 as well.
Thanks you two, you are really breaking some bread for me!!! The world all over, need it!! And we understand some parts of The Chosen so much better. Thanks again.
Your videos are becoming among my favorites (and I think this episode of The Chosen is my favorite). A thought just occurred though, if Samaritans didn’t reverence the Hebrew Bible (Josephus is the source for this?) and only had their version/translation of the first five Books of Moses (which the episode points out), where did their theology concerning the Messiah come from?? What does it mean for the Samaritan woman at the well to say in John 4:25 “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
Ahh, I get it: John said to Mary "...but I was there for things that Matthew doesn't know about." And there he was, just him and Jesus, in the room of Samaritan scrolls. Hearing things no one else heard. What amazing writing!
Thanks for watching! Check out one of my favorite books, it's written by Father Peter Hocken "Azusa, Rome, and Zion: Pentecostal Faith, Catholic Reform, and Jewish Roots" smile.amazon.com/Azusa-Rome-Zion-Pentecostal-Catholic/dp/1498228348/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=azusa+rome+zions&qid=1623785675&sr=8-1
I am so glad that you two are doing more reviews of The Chosen. Learning a lot from you. I would love it if you would review from the beginning, Season 1 maybe even The Shepard that was the precursor to The Chosen. God bless your ministry.
I wish some of my Christian friends would watch and listen to your explanations... They are saying that this program is blasphemous.... Makes me wonder if Jesus came would they recognize him because he isn't portrayed like they think he should be in their mind... My friends are truly missing a blessing! May the Lord bless you both.
Yes religion had created an abstract Jesus...an unrelational Jesus in many respects. But he left his glory in heaven to come and pursue us .. fallen and broken humanity so he could call us brothers and friends. And I guess until we truly get that, the portrayal of how human he had to become to relate to us can seem blasphemous. It is a sobering thought. I wonder how they respond to the verse that says, "as he is so are we in this world" 😊 that is mind blowing. Very profound🙏🏾
It’s the Christians I know that don’t like the show are those who don’t like their faith depicted in art. (With music as the only exception). As a Catholic myself, the Catholics I know are okay with this. Catholics are traditionally comfortable with artists’ portrayal of scripture. Da Vinci’s Last Supper with loaves of bread (Feast of Unleavened Bread), Michelangelo’s depiction of God the Father on a ceiling in Rome (one cannot look upon God’s face), and Eve being portrayed with an apple when most agree it was probably a fig… just to name a few instances where art isn’t 100% to scripture or historical. I agree that they are missing out on this blessing and many other pieces of art that could expand their prayer life and faith. Art doesn’t replace scripture but it can enhance it in a tangible way.
@@angelaherrman4065 and if you seriously think about it, even Jesus' parables about the kingdom in the book of Matthew was an artistic way...in story telling.. to help us become more visually acquainted with the kingdom of God 😊 I am hopeful that those who really want to become more acquainted with Jesus will only be provoked by Dallas' brilliant way of telling the story to do just that. 😊 Some are just happy to be religious, and some of us actually want to see and experience the glory of this kingdom on this side of eternity
You two wild & crazy guys are fantastic! I did find myself " shussing" you so you won't miss a key line. I do love your insight, the humor & yes the tiny cup. Keep it up. The Chosen is rocking the world & taking us on an extraordinary ride! Oy
I learn new things about Hebrew language and tradition. Your reviews add so much to the show itself! Thank you! I'm so glad I came across your channel. Keep up the good work!
I happened upon you guys a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love the way you guys go deeper into history. I love how you point out scriptures that relate to the events in The Chosen. I was already a huge fan of the show, but now I wait until after the episodes then come here to see what you add to the beauty of a well written story. Thank you for this. I am enjoying your channel and one other that gives Jewish history and helps us have better understanding.
Love, love, love both of your humour, your hearts and insights, combined with wisdom in breaking down The Chosen, makes this a must-follow show. I appreciate you guys, in case you're wondering. God bless you and your families!
I love when the Grafted and the Chosen are together. Learning just the few of what the Jewish law and language is so amazing. Today it was said that Thunder means the voice. And Yashsua in place of Jesus. Do you think a Hebrew Bible can be found written in English? I would love that. I could gain so much more! Thank you so very much. I love the knowledge I've gotten from your show and the half hour episodes to help understand what we may be missing .
Great question!! I bought a book called “the Jewish New Testament” in the 1990s it was primarily a Jewish Evangelism tool (written/created by a Jewish believe I think). An English rendering that sought to restore the names to the original Jewish/Hebrew names like Yaakov (Jacob aka James) and Miriam (Mary) and Yeshua (Jesus), and soften some of the trigger words for Jewish readers (“Christ” back to the original Hebrew “Messiah”, “Cross” to “Execution Stake” and to help them see the real Jewishness of this allegedly Gentile book (or collection of books really)!
@@MikeKBar13 Thank you so much for getting back to me. I will have to look into buying one of these. I think it will help in my journey with the Lord. Peace be with you. Kathleen

Having just this past year become part of a Messianic congregation and starting to study Hebrew, I love how much I am learning from you both. I am so glad the Lord used The Chosen as a vehicle for you to share with us. Thank you so much for your ministry.
Blessings and Shalom! Check out our other videos on the channel also.
32:59 Re: Y'shua's repeating the I AM statement -- John's gospel is a book of signs (7 of them) and for each sign there is an I AM statement e.g., I AM the bread from heaven w/ the feeding of the 5,000+.
You both qualify to be Elders just by your compassion alone .
Yes, please plus Season 1, Episodes 1-8. Thank you.
Thank you for clearing up that they were sitting shiva for James.
There is nothing in this series that can legitimately be criticized. Human so we can know him and his personality! God coming down to relate in a way we can relate. As relationships go now, so they went theirs, so assumptions are needed so that we can RELATE! All I know is that this series has and is changing my life!
"There is nothing in this series that can legitimately be criticized." Well, we wouldn't go that far. :)
👆🏼 Glad to see that.
My favorite part of this episode is the thunder at the end while he’s writing as though he’s dictating from the Almighty
Nice! I really like to listen to your commentary and insights of The Chosen!
I’m sad you skipped the clip with the actual naming of the Sons of Thunder by Jesus, tho.
So many good scenes!
I was looking for that scene!
So enlightening. The Chosen connects the dots and you guys color in the shapes. Thank you. (please be on my radio show....Rabbi Jason did. :-) )
I’m loving your comments better than any others I’ve listen to. I love the way you bring the Jewish history out and parallel with today. Portia
I really learned a lot from this video! Please continue doing more Messianic Jew reactions to The Chosen so the rest of us Christians may learn more!
@andrea f
There is a fellowship finder on 119 ministries website. There are in home group studies and messianic congregations.
@@cissyc2587 yes, I've looked there before..not any close to me. The closest was a few hours. Thank you for the suggestion though
I love watching various reviews/reactions to the chosen, but you are my favorite by far. Entertaining and very educational! Count me in as one who hopes you will go back and do season 1 as well.
Thank you, check out our other Messianic teaching videos as well!
@@Grafted Will do! Our church started a few years ago on teaching Jewish roots so to speak. It really opened my eyes to a lot of things.
Great commentary. I am a Catholic but am fully appreciating your view of the Bible. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Check out one of my favorite books, it's written by Father Peter Hocken "Azusa, Rome, and Zion: Pentecostal Faith, Catholic Reform, and Jewish Roots" smile.amazon.com/Azusa-Rome-Zion-Pentecostal-Catholic/dp/1498228348/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=azusa+rome+zions&qid=1623785675&sr=8-1
So sweet! Watching your videos and listening to you guys are so calming. It brings shalom to my soul. Thank you 🌷
How the "actors" react is so authentic...
OH WOW. Son's of thunder...Y'all are SO helpful in understand more of the episodes. THANK YOU
Love this. Wish you reviewed more of James and John in this episode... so good.
I’m so glad you’re back!! Your commentary on The Chosen is fantastic!
So so good! Love your reactions.
I am so glad that you two are doing more reviews of The Chosen. Learning a lot from you. I would love it if you would review from the beginning, Season 1 maybe even The Shepard that was the precursor to The Chosen. God bless your ministry.
Thanks for your feedback, we are hoping to react to all available episodes eventually!
I love your videos. They are so informative and fun. Please keep them coming.
Glad you like them!
Part of our Jesus’s agony on the cross: seeing His Mother’s sorrow. So, John takes on the care of Mother Mary like a Son.
@@kyerbaruffin8941 so true!
Awesome! So glad to have found your channel.
There hasn’t been a single episode of The Chosen where I haven’t cried.
Thank you guys SO much!
You guys are so funny!! Great show!!
Thanks so much!!
Please review more! I love the commentary.
This may be one of favorite episodes. Thank you for these reviewwwwwss!!!
Love you guys. Enjoy hearing what you feel about the chosen
Thank you for your teaching, it’s so helpful and bless you
yes!!! love these so much!!! keep them coming!!!
I have had a little Hebrew and you are telling it all so well. I appreciate how you show such love for Jesus!
Love, love, love both of your humour, your hearts and insights, combined with wisdom in breaking down The Chosen, makes this a must-follow show. I appreciate you guys, in case you're wondering. God bless you and your families!
I am so blessed to have found you gentleman.
I really love your videos they gave me information that I need to fully understand the word of God.... I hope you will do more videos of The Chosen
I always love to listen to you because you are helpful in explaining the Jewish culture clearly to us!
So meaningful - deeply grateful; thank you.
Love the coffee cup! I live in Juneau, AK. Thanks for representing AK! 😄
I’ve been wanting to go for 25 years but still haven’t visited!!
@@Grafted you should come! It’s beautiful!
I really learn a lot when you review episodes of the Chosen. Please review more.
Love the deeper dive into the culture/ culture and meaning of words. 🏊
Glad you are doing a Season 2 review of the Chosen! 😊👍❤️🕊️✝️
my comment made the cut let’s go!! lol great video guys! awesome insight as always!
Kathleen
Thank you for doing these! I’ve learned so much watching these and really helps me to appreciate The Chosen that much more! Very insightful information!
