With splats commentary I've learned survival skills, street skills, geology, ecology, anthropology and now finally how to sling dope and run a drug ring. Who needs college when you have splat?
Drugs enhance your intellect, it's a proven fact. Just look at the nazis, the were on meth the entire war. Very effective. We need more drugs in society! MORE DRUGS FOR THE PEOPLE!!
Throughout my time watching Splattercat I have been in awe of all of the random stuff he knows and occasionally spits out. So much so that I've nicknamed those occasions "life lessons with Splattercat" in this episode I thought that we'd have a little weed growing lesson, but alas I was wrong and instead got one of those jokes he does instead. 10/10 Keep it up Splattercat.
Where I grew up in South West England, the local curry house was basically a front for running coke, so I had the finest Indian food money could buy growing up. When I had a famous Brick Lane Curry, it was bitter as poison lol
As a person who didn't live in the bay but knows people who do and visits regularly, I get you with the nail salons Splat. Tho with nail salons in the experience of my law enforcement pals those are usually fronts for trafficking not money laundering, but that happens a lot too.
Splattercat, It is my request that you please continue playing this game, it is and you are going to do well in this game! With love, An overly fancy fan of yours
haha. Love this commentary. Talkn about the bricks, just great, nice to see some1 playing this with some amount of knowledge to the content of the game.
'Buy the pound or get the fuck out!' Splat sells in the big leagues or not at all! This looks like a good one. We need a few more episodes to see Splattercat's crew roll out on some fools. ;)
It's the same in the UK splat, theres a street near here which has over 20 takeaways and they are always empty. it's the same with nail salons though youd be lucky to find anyone in this neighbourhood with a manicure.
items at storefront are usually a good 100 times value, but places like this nail salon your talking about usually mark up to 1000 times so its no issue having slow business, its slow business but usually reliable returning customers.
Splat some stores make money from being a pick up location for online ordered stuff. Like how you order from Walmart online, and you get free shipping if you have it sent to the store. When you use the pick up in store, it gets a bit of money for it being a pick up location.
7:30 This is actually because 90% of the time the business is empty, and the other 10% they are packed so full of people who come in the dozens all at the same time to get their stuff. That's how places like that operate. No one person just walks in to get their nails done or to buy a taco. They get with their family of 12 or they pick out 10 of their friends and they all go to that hole in the wall nail salon.
Yo Splat, those empty businesses are like the squirrels from Rick & Morty, your favorite show. If you don't know what that means, don't worry about it. Just take my word for it, and LEAVE IT ALONE WHILE YOU CAN.
I wish this game was longer, in it's current state you can finish it within 2 hours but on the plus side, you can completely edit every property in the game with notepad+(Basement/Basement_64_Data/StreamingAssets.) and, shelf, growbox, sofa next to each other in that order will make the startup easier next time too ;)
You're totally right about the money laundering. I've seen some restaurants around on the east coast that are the same way. As someone who went to college for hospitality, that doesn't work without some "alternate funding".
Actually, here in my area of Pennsylvania. I've got 2 Walmart basically next to each other, both with nail salons in them. And I've never seen, even a single person in there. Most of the time, I don't even see workers. I've just started to assume they put those up to make the rest of the store look more classy.
Bit of a "Pro Tip" as it were... you're best of focusing on getting a Hit Squad that can take out small Business' (like the Drug Store) and holding them until said Supply runs out, or a Clinic. Clinics will Heal-over-Time assigned Thugs, thus you can roll into a somewhere; take out the previous owners, then return to get healed up while having a Throwaway Dealer to just shift the Merchandise. The Garage adds to the number of "Transporter" Vehicles you have, you get a Free Moped (which shifts 1 Brick at a time) between Buildings; so for example you can sell via another Office (again say like the Drug Store), use that as a Front; because if you're *too* successful the Cops will come and Seize the Building. They're not unbeatable, but you won't really be standing toe-to-toe with them until you can get about 10 - 13 DMG and they're usually in groups of 2-3. If you want to move people back (as you're always warned about a Raid / Attack) you just select them and click on another building or alternatively select the Door of the target building and select them to move. Upgrading your Transport Vehicle to a Van, will allow you to shift a single Shelf of Stock; as noted above you have to be concerned about Raids, but the Police *will not* Raid buildings that don't have a Store Front. Hence it being a good idea *not* to sell out of your Base of Operations... especially as the more Stock you shift (not money, but just more Customers Per Day) then it raises the chance it will trigger a Raid. The same is true if any of your Stock make people Freak Out, There is a lot of Attacks (i.e. constant Gang Warfare) or someone Dies from a Bad Trip. Oh Freak Outs btw, mean said individual become violent and attacks your Dealers. Being aggressive pays off in this game, especially against the AI as they will Snowball once they start taking additional Properties becoming damn near impossible to beat; and need you to essentially just keep throwing Thugs at them to die Russian Style in an attempt to get the Police to Raid them and shut them down. Also remember the Goal is to essentially make Bank, not Shift/Produce Goods. Taking the Bank for example and absconding with all of it's Resources, pretty good way to do this; and create Minion Army of Roflstompage.
I really like watching this game. It would be a great playthrough for you. The only thing I want to see in particular is occupation forces, where you purposefully send good "enforcers" to blue/red buildings to just sit on their supplies. If they can't get to them because you're there then they can't sell and expand. So what I would do is exactly what you did to the drugstore and just sit on it so it cripples their economy. I just hope the game recognizes it instead of giving the AI a magical growth curve like in the higher difficulties of Civ V. Also I hope the police ("whoop whoop") are in this game. If not that would be dissapointing. Have them be an off-map enemy who just raids buildings and takes all the equipment and supplies, so there's never an end game with all maximum level buildings. Edit: spelling.
