Hm. I saw this when it was released. First glance only showed the management aspect. This looks interesting. Would love to see more

this game could have been absolutely amazing if it had better controls (they are absolutely atrocious and there is no keybinding option) and if the gameplay was a bit more hectic and a tad more like This War of Mine. The concept is interesting and the art is BEATIFUL.
If they made it more hectic it would be too unrealistic, you'd probably end up with a group of people just clearing out blocks and slaughtering civilians.
I think you should make sure your information is up to date before commenting, their was an update on June 14th that added keybinding to the options menu.
Greypool is also obviously not the old map of Liverpool :P

The title is a little bit misleading. Indeed, to me, the mechanics of this game is more like This War of Mine.
I was following the game. A patch in Juny was said to add keybinding.
UA-cam's algorithm has some interesting tastes to be recommending this in early June 2020.
it's like with the ocean, usually there is garbage flowing on top, because that's what this game is
How about March 2021? YT has some weird fetish for this one apparently, lol.

I love the idea of the game, but it's concerning to see that it has only a 'mixed' rating on the Steam reviews :/
And I wish games like this would have a tactical pause, as not everyone has super-fast twitch reflexes and can do a boat load of multitasking.
Yeah, the fact about lack of tactical pause is a deal breaker for me. I have a disability which makes me really slow and I tend to have trouble with keeping track of multiple things at once. I like the art style though. If this was a purely managerial game, I would have wanted to play it, I think. I would love to run my own little thieves guild.
I've emerged from playing Star Renegade after watching your last video just to have UA-cam recommend this old ass video. I should just have a Splat folder to house all these gems you dig up for us

Do what you do, play a bit, have fun, give critique so the devs can tweek it. Over the years you have gained respect from the industry. If Splat says something needs work & keeps playing cause it's fun, it's salvageable. Part of why I subscribed!

This looks pretty interesting, though I agree that not being able to give commands while paused is annoying (it'd probably be a dealbreaker for me).
(I also have to comment that when you said "That guard has stopped to look at Candle", what went through my head (probably showing my tastes) was "I bet a lot of guys spend time doing that...")

Nice overview. You had some really good critiques, usually your so positive about games that its hard to tell if they are good or not and I have to pay close attention to the game play to know if I would like it. Which i suppose its how it should be, but your points are spot on. This game would be a no for me but if they fixed things to make some missions by longer and let you give orders in the pause menu then I might consider it.
X-COM base management + This War of Mine click-action... withouth Baldur's Gate command in pauseable
i feel like it would be too slow paced for a series but the game does have potential.
Having too many people to manage is a nightmare.
