Thanks bud your videos was very informative and its my first time washing my own car, i will let you know how it goes and thanks for the response, but i needed the dummie manual because i am like what is co this and rt that lol.
I tried the VRP last night. The results were a little disappointing. There is ZERO shine to this stuff. It does not sling at all which is great. Smells good and applies very easy. Did I not use enough? It has a dark dull, flat look. I dont want sling but I want some shine. Suggestions? Should I go with something else on this list?
I love using the VRP and love the finish. Now for those clients who like the tires more glossy i just apply another layer or two after a couple mins of each application.
VRP has always been my favorite. I've been using it for about 10 years. Longevity, tho, has never been great. Usually it only looks great for a few days before going dull. No sling and because it cleans up so easy is why I keep using it. By far my favorite tire cleaner, which no one talks about, is Eagle 1 A2Z tire cleaner.
Great job pan! I find the McGuire’s endurance gel to be the best long lasting one by far. I give it 15 minutes to set in and it don’t fling off and keeps a deep shine for weeks!
I use Gyeon tire and think it's absolutely brilliant. After cleaning with surfex hd i use an applicator to apply and hae found it lasting a good 1 month with no issues. Also love the fact that it shines and youjust need to wipe the tyre with a cloth to get a solid deep black matt look. Also 1 bottle lasts a very long time!
Meguiars Endurance Gel is my dressing of choice. If you apply it properly you get almost no sling at all and it lasts forever. VRP is by far the easiest to apply but I just don't like having to dress my tires so often so I always go with Megs.
Hello, I am currently looking for good tire shine as I am getting new tires and want to make them look great from the start. How long does each coat last on the tires?
I regret not washing my truck by hand earlier. When the sun shines on my paint you can see tiny scratches from auto car washes. I find washing my truck by hand relaxing and also helps me get rid of stress and anxiety. I’ve spend money here and there upgrading certain soap products and brushes, microfiber drying towels... thanks for making this video.
@@PanTheOrganizer I just happened to be doing research on UA-cam regarding certain tire products and your video was one of the first videos that popped up. I usually go back and forth from Amazon reviews and UA-cam reviews before making a purchase.
I really like the Meguiars but not this one, the Meguiars Gel, not sure if there is a difference between spay and gel as I heven't used the spay......as always, very good videos, Pan is one of the best car detailers, no doubt about it.
I use both VRP and Gyeon Tire,I really like both of them. Although Gyeon Tire is much more durable and doesn't attract a lot of dirt, but neither does VRP. VRP is also great for faded exterior plastic and interior as well. I think you have a great line up,what do you think of CarPro Perl?
Thanks Saul! Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on UA-cam as we surpassed 760,000 subscribers and are getting close to 100 million views! I have been detailing for 25 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers. You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing. How did you discover my channel?
Allen Jun They’re probably both very similar considering both are based on silica dioxide (SiO2), if I’m not mistaken. Also, Pan is doing a tire shine part 2 test soon which will include PERL.
I've been also using lacquer thinner to prep my tires when I change what I'm using to dress the tires. I prefer dressing that keep my tires dark black and not necessary to have wet look. Also to prevent cracks and durability of the rubber even treating my tread with the 303 protectant I heat the rubber before treating so when I do this I either have my vehicle raised or remove the wheels. Also had good results with Coverall tire shine after prepping tires.
Best Tire shine hands down is by Car brite. I don’t care for many of their products as its meant for dealership and bulk but they have a purple gel style tire shine smells like grapes. And is German made product. Hands down the best and is water based does not sling and stays on for weeks. I use my mini hvlp gun to spray on.
I've been using CG VRP for the last year. I taped off 1/2 of my GF's tire ( no dressing on the other 1/2 ) and could still see the demarcation line 5 months later. I just finished reading all 273 comments here and was surprised ppl said it only lasted a short time. It also can be diluted 1:1 which helps stretch the product further. I stocked up on Turtle Wax Jet Black. It is BLACK TINTED ACRYLIC coating. You have to tape off the rims as it is a black dye. Absolutely amazing product ! One treatment lasts a year, it's not quite a gloss in appearance but a satin with great hydrophobic properties. Have you ever tried it ?
Yes, that's why I said I stocked up on it. O'Reilly's had 3 kits on their discount shelf and I bought them all. I had previously done several sets of cars with my first kit. Sold the service as a 6 month tire shine premium service for $ 50.00 add on/upsell. Clients were super happy with it. I used it on my personal cars. I don't know why other companies don't go the route of tinted acrylics ? It's tricky to apply, but worth the extra time. I have an unopened Q2 Gyeon and have been waiting to try it out, very curious how it stacks up against the other 7 in your review, long term . Your stuff is always really well done, I have a channel and hope to reach your level of videos someday soon. I'm a big fan of yours !
Hi Pan! One I would love to see is Carbon Collective Sateen. I LOVE it for rubber only. It lasts so long even against a pressure washer and applies so easy. I am a huge fan of Griot's Vinyl and Tire Dressing for any exterior trim and tires if I want to go fast and get everything looking nice. Love the channel!
I have a question. Some people said "silicone are bad for tires, it could crack the rubber". Is it true? Because on last 4 month i used dressing from smartdressing with contains of 30% silicone
Superior Cover All is the best by far and easiest to install. Is hard to get your hands on it but is worth it. Comes in a spray form. Please make a video on it and you'll know what I'm talking about!
I wash my car twice weekly, and every time I wash the car, I start by cleaning wheels and tires, which includes proper degreasing of the tires. So at the end of the wash, I reapply a fresh layer of tire dressing. Here's a popular tutorial I made about properly washing wheels and tires: ua-cam.com/video/Ty4ZTq7A7rc/v-deo.html
Ive used VRP for a long while now, but I’ve heard bad things about due to when it rains it’ll smear and come off. Would that be because the surface wasn’t prepped properly?
I love your videos btw. This video you nailed it right on the head. The first time I used VRP I fell in love. The only problem that I found while using it on my own car, is that it attracts a little dust and dirt from my long sugar sand driveway. I recently found a quick detailer that Chemical Guys makes called speed shine, and it's main claim is that it has anti-static properties and repels dust. I tried it out on my car that does not have any ceramic coatings on it, and I was amazed by how well it performed. So tomorrow I'm gonna apply VRP to my tires when it dries to the touch I'm gonna apply speed shine over the VRP to see how it works. Keep the content coming.🙂
Just wanted to add that my tire brush was like $2 lol. I bought one of those brushes used for cleaning grease on dishes that's stiff enough to clean tires. It works, I have had no problems with It.
WOW! Okay, I'm 5 years late chiming in, but my vote is for Meguiars. I like the wet, shiny, glossy, look. I use it and VRP which doesn't last long at all on tires. Works better on interior stuff in my opinion.
VRP looks great and is super easy to apply and is inexpensive, but yeah it lasts about a week, perhaps 2 if you get great weather. Water based dressings don't last super long, but the good thing is they're easy to apply and remove, and don't sling all over the paint, and usually have a great looking finish. Not too oily/greasy looking and not too matte.
You should add Tuff Shine Tire Clearcoat to the test. If you clean the tire thoroughly Tuff Shine Tire Clearcoat lasts a long time. You control the gloss by how many coats you apply to the tire. It dries in only ten minutes so its easy to dial-in your desired level of shine.
Could I apply Perl or Mud after Gyeon? Would that be the best or the worst of both worlds? BTW please do another video featuring the remainder dressings.
What would you recommend for raised white letters specifically applicators and application I’ve always had an issue with sling because I have a hard time getting product out of the lettering
Thanks Robert! It’s awesome to see viewers as implicated as you and your comments. You seem to enjoy detailing as well! Since when do you follow my channel?
I like CG silk shine because it provides a nice black look w/ some shine ( you can achieve a bit more shine by adding a second application) and doesn't sling.
Hi Pan,i use the Meguiars Endurance Gel, its quite thick and apply it with Meguiars sponge applicator, warm weather makes life a lot easier to apply to the tyre.
I thought i washed a lot... But i live in Houston TX, garage keep cars, I wipe them down all time.. With your help and Carpro.... I can keep my car so super clean. Carpro Gliss what a addition to the arsenal. love it, Can you keep layering Gliss. What i looking for is a plastic treatment for grills, and black trim. Been using Bow Wow,, but real greasy
I recently bought and used Griots brand of tire dressing. It comes in an aerosol can. I did two coats and its super dark and wet looking. Not sure hope long it will last though, I did it yesterday.
Hi, Pan, yes, I would like to see the other tire gel products as well. I have been using Protective Products Corp. Showtime waterborne polymer tire dressing for about 10 yrs now. Lasts about 3wks through normal washings
there was a turtle wax tire shine that was latex based, no oily feel lasts up to 6 months, they took it off the market that was an amazing product. i just bought a similar product called soft99 black black its a Japanese product cant wait to make my tires shine!!
I use the Meguires Endurance gel and have liked that one for many years now. I have tried many others and you suggested CarPro pearl but did not like it as much as the endurance
When you immediately drive after polishing tires the polish flies off. I found it better to polish your tires when you have no plans of driving anywhere. The car being parked for a while will allow the polish to set into the tire and have no run off. And for brighter shine, allow first coat to dry than spray another coating over it. Excessive polish wont fly off as long as car stays parked long enough.
Hi, it is a nice detailed and informative video, i just want to ask you as an expert is there any difference between a wheel cleaner and a degreaser? I didn't found any good degreaser in my country can you plz suggest the alternate
Wheel cleaners are usually more effective at removing brake dust and other deposits often found in that area. Degreasers are usually high pH products not really meant to clean wheels. I would use wheel cleaners on wheels, not degreasers. Degreasers can be used on tires, to remove previous tire dressings and clean the tire thoroughly.
Great review! I myself use VRP and AMMO dressings. I really appreciate the high gloss AMMO delivers but it has a tendency to sling, and longevity is fair. VRP also is great-doesn’t deliver the high gloss like AMMO but it doesn’t sling and longevity is good. Really they are both great dressings. Again, great review and thank you.
So which tire dressing is best for keeping the tires in best condition without drying out cracking or wearing it down, seems like most dressings will ruin the tires over time looking for something safe? Do you use VRP now or Gyeon?
Have you had the chance to try Chemical Guys Tire Kicker? Very easy to apply and can be used on trim. But it does not last very long. Maybe about week. A few days if it rains.
Is it ok if the degreaser gets onto the wheel? I've got matte black Forged/Painted Aluminum Wheels. I've been using Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel for the past several years but I'm thinking of switching to one of the products you reviewed here. Likely the AutoFinesse.
When I look closely at your side by side 8:44, it seems like Auto Finesse was the only one that absorbed well on the three big raised rotational arrows. The meguiar's and gyeon look already dry in those spots. The VRP did slightly better than those two, but still didn't absorb completely like the Auto Finesse. I wonder how the chemical guys natural shine dressing would fare in a rematch. Agree/disagree?

VRP looks great and is super easy to apply and is inexpensive, but yeah it lasts about a week, perhaps 2 if you get great weather. Water based dressings don't last super long, but the good thing is they're easy to apply and remove, and don't sling all over the paint, and usually have a great looking finish. Not too oily/greasy looking and not too matte.
Coverall is the best tire shine
hello can you make a comparison video of angelwax carpro and gyeon tyre and tyre express dressing? thanks
You should add Tuff Shine Tire Clearcoat to the test. If you clean the tire thoroughly Tuff Shine Tire Clearcoat lasts a long time. You control the gloss by how many coats you apply to the tire. It dries in only ten minutes so its easy to dial-in your desired level of shine.

there was a turtle wax tire shine that was latex based, no oily feel lasts up to 6 months, they took it off the market that was an amazing product. i just bought a similar product called soft99 black black its a Japanese product cant wait to make my tires shine!!
I’m looking for something that doesn’t sling and gives the matte natural finish. Shoot your best option pan. Thank you!
Chemical Guys VRP
Pan TheOrganizer thank you pan. I’ll give that a try
great video -- Gyeon and CarPro products are what i use on my tyres. Q2 Tire lasts for weeks.
Thanks for watching!
VRP!! Decided to try it out after seeing you use it several times, now its all I use
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!
I use the Meguires Endurance gel and have liked that one for many years now. I have tried many others and you suggested CarPro pearl but did not like it as much as the endurance
And absolutely would love to see a video with the others
I can’t find a video but do you have a recommendation for a portable power generator? I’m purchasing an Optima XD steamer.
I like PERL. From the looks, it seems similar to VRP.
Any chance the degreaser could hurt the finish or paint on the rims?
No.
When you immediately drive after polishing tires the polish flies off. I found it better to polish your tires when you have no plans of driving anywhere. The car being parked for a while will allow the polish to set into the tire and have no run off. And for brighter shine, allow first coat to dry than spray another coating over it. Excessive polish wont fly off as long as car stays parked long enough.
nice video what about carpro pearl?
In a future video. Great dressing too!
Pan TheOrganizer I was getting cg vrp on sale 13$ and carpro 18$ I will definitely chose Carpro as there technology is far better
I would love to see an expanded review of additional tire dressings!
Hey Pan I tried the vrp tire dressing and I like it so thanks for that also what type of applicator are you using to put it on
How long does ammo mud last?
Hi, it is a nice detailed and informative video, i just want to ask you as an expert
is there any difference between a wheel cleaner and a degreaser?
I didn't found any good degreaser in my country can you plz suggest the alternate
Wheel cleaners are usually more effective at removing brake dust and other deposits often found in that area. Degreasers are usually high pH products not really meant to clean wheels. I would use wheel cleaners on wheels, not degreasers. Degreasers can be used on tires, to remove previous tire dressings and clean the tire thoroughly.
Thanks pan. Ordered VRP like that as well.
Thanks Tony!
What country are you watching from? Hi from Canada 🇨🇦!
Central united states in the kansas city metro area. Hi back fro the U.S. 👋
Great channel pan. Watching over and over. And buying way to much err. Haha
Hehe! I totally get you! It’s so fun discovering a new product and trying it out!
Thanks for your feedback!
Yes I agree VRP looks perfect
Do you ever clean your applicators for the dressings , I would use the gel form of the Meguiars dressing and would just be a mess
I don't. I just leave them on an old microfiber towel to absorb the excess and when they get old, I throw them away.
Would any of these help with faded black plastics?
Use CarPro PERL for that.
Chemical Guys VRP is prolly my favorite, but I've just started using Adams VRT and I really like it a lot.
So which tire dressing is best for keeping the tires in best condition without drying out cracking or wearing it down, seems like most dressings will ruin the tires over time looking for something safe? Do you use VRP now or Gyeon?
Salut Pan.
Dis moi peut on diluer meguiars endurance avec de l'eau dématérialisée en vue dune finition mate où satin?
J'ai aucune idée malheureusement. Ce n'est pas mentionné sur l'étiquette donc je doute que tu puisses diluer ce produit.
Is VRP safe to get on chrome lettering on rubber bumpers? Safe to get on paint accidentally?
Yeah no problem, just wipe if off.
Still can't finish the bottle of Megs Endurance Tire Gel and 2 years has been passed. But for the spare tire, I use Megs Natural Shine Protectant.
Have you ever used Yeager's Tire Dressing? It is produced in Atlanta
Never heard of them...
Thanks Pan. Your awesome my friend. I value your opinion and I use VRP because you recommend it. I buy the gallon jug for $52.00 Canadian.
Thanks for your continued support!
Have you had the chance to try Chemical Guys Tire Kicker? Very easy to apply and can be used on trim. But it does not last very long. Maybe about week. A few days if it rains.
Never used it
Was there ever a part 2 or did I miss it?
Here’s part 2: ua-cam.com/video/NsdgSdgw6dg/v-deo.html
I love chemical guys VRP do you have any tips on applying VRP on meaty tires? Traditional foam applicators get really torn up after 1 use.
Yes no worries.
I don’t know if I buy a defective product but the VRP doesn’t have a consistent appearance and it disappears almost completely after days
When you dilute 1:3, which gets 3x amount? ...the water or the cleaner?
The bigger number is always water.
Thanks for the quick reply. Your videos are great and very informative. You have a new subscriber :)
