Killing Hinds with Mavs is a Chad move. Hind pilots are punching the air rn.
Wayyy back in the day I saw A-10 pilots use AGM-65s to take down a Frogfoot lol
You should set your master mode to Nav when you roll onto the take-off runway. The computer uses the takeoff bearing to align itself so you have accurate navigation.
Also when you take-off, on the HUD glass there's a nice little bar at the bottom that slowly widens. It tells you when it is time to rotate given the Viggens speed and weapons configuration. Once the horizontal bar reaches the vertical bars at either end, it means you've reached the proper speed for liftoff. If you have trouble seeing the bar you should lower the HUD glass.
This bar is in nav mode?
@@Joemate23Yup. When you set the mastermode to NAV when you set up on the runway, it will be in a take-off mode. It will automatically switch to the normal NAV mode when the plane reaches 500m AGL after the take-off.

Just bought the viggen while it was on sale. Had a blast while it was in trial. I didn't know you could maverick helicopters, that's hilarious.
Me neither. The first time I was thinking did he just shoot the maverick off?
@davidmason3680 the fact he can point his nose at it and tdc to the helicopter is a boss move. I don't think i could replicate that with a lot of practice. Looks life we have much to learn!

I just got into enigmas recently and have been teaching my mate how it works, plus the Mig-21. Honestly one of the best environments on the sim but I have to ask, how do you play alone? my mind goes numb flying alone, with no one to talk to, etc. so i see it as a bloody skill and a half.
also want to add that you're indeed bastard for ripping my mates wing off haha, love the videos mate!
It is harder tbh, especially on a full server. Got used it at this point.

Viggen yes, very easily without fail. A10 mavs either can’t or can only barely lock choppers (don’t have enough hours in A10 to be sure).

Killing choppers with mavs in Viggen used to be my daily action. Then I picked up the choppers myself and I haven’t maved a chopper since. It’s just so toxic 🙃 (0 skill required and 100% kill chance, at a very long range). I don’t blame anyone for doing it, don’t get me wrong, I just can’t do that to chopper bro’s anymore.
Edit: oh and with the viggen ground radar, choppers are also dead easy to find 🥹
Edit 2: wow, you actually missed one 😮, I’ve not had that happen in 500+ Mav-heli shots. But that shot was very much out of any sensible parameters.
Well that was my first time ever doing that with the mavericks, might try the rb-05’s with the proxy fuse, bigger boom but harder to aim. I’ve even picked up low altitude frogfoots with its radar lol.

@@Joemate23 it’s addictive, once you get a hang of Maving choppers you are killing them like flies. I enjoyed it until I found myself in the receiving end. Although I must say, in 150+ hours of red choppers on ECW, I’ve only been hit by mavs +-5 times. Viggen isn’t that popular, some people don’t know you can Mav choppers and most have other plans anyways.
RB05 works and is fun, but it’s very difficult and somehow less satisfying.
Is there any indication on the HUD where the Mav is looking? I don’t know how you even know where to point the plane to get the desired view through the Mav scope
@@Bullet4MyEnemy it will initially look at the dot on your HUD, once you start moving it, you can’t see where is in the HUD. So just use the HUD to aim more or less close, and then just slew it on target with the camera. If you lose track of it and have no idea where the camera is looking, just reset it (T0) and use HUD again and then slew as before.
Once you get a hang of it is becomes dead easy to lock and shoot choppers in almost dogfight like situations.
