Would love if you could do a video on your FX 3 settings and how you have customized your settings. I'm still fairly new to the FX3 and always appreciate videos from creators that do more than just youtube videos and are doing client work. Thanks

Hmm i was expecting to hear about canon raw lite from the r3. Also isnt the canon r3 triple base iso for video? Those are the main comparison ooints as someone at the crossroads for video.
You can use the sigma MC-11 adapter to use EF lenses on the Sony. Auto focus works on video and photo only with the sigma lenses. If you try using EF canon lenses you only get AF on picture mode and not for video. This was when I used to use my a7 iii with canon lenses. I don’t know if anything has changed now. I also have the R3 and R6 ii and tried the Sony a7 iv and fx3 and ended up returning them and sticking to canon. Love the small form of Sony but I do a lot of photo and video and for me the canon R6 ii and R3 just work better for me and look a lot better to me in post. You should try out the R6 ii if you want to stick to canon. It’s like a mini R3. Doesn’t overheat, does 4k 60 and has new video features like false color and some other stuff.
since you have all canon stuff, I would look into getting the Canon c70, having built in ND filters, then you can get the sigma 18-35mm 1.8 lens, wich is like a 26-53mm on a full frame (if i remember correctly) at 1.8, that's a classic EF mount lens wich is probably the most popular lens for blackmagic cameras, I reccomend watching a video called "Why I Bought a Canon C70 (as a sony fx3 owner)" I'm not a canon user, I switched from sony to fujifilm, now i'm thinking of switching to canon for canon c70, 2-10 stop nd filter is so sick, 28-70mm 2.0 for photography can't be beat, best zoom lens out there.
Nice and informative video. If you haven't already you should have a look at the BMPCC6K Pro. It's a Super-35 sensor but it's packed with all the features you mentioned that you're missing, like built in ND's and false colors. It also shoots in RAW and ProRes and it has an EF-mount so you can continue to use all your lenses. Oh, and it's also cheaper than an FX3.
Actually, I think you can shoot lower ISO. The base ISO 800 is if you're shooting in S-Log 3. That being said, most shoot in S-Log 3. IMHO, you really should look at the a7rv too. I think you might find it would fit your needs as a hybrid vs video only camera. A few reasons; Higher Resolution (actually 2.5x of your R3), New AI AF system (it has subject lock-on tracking for stills & video - just like your R3), the AWB is the best of all the Sony's, a 9M+ EVF, and most of the video functions as the FX3 (including peaking and breathing comp - no false color though). Might want to rent one from LenRentals LOL. BTW, the MC-11 Sigma adapter for EF glass works really well (it's been on the market forever) for stills. I have no experience using it for video. FYI - Many of Sony features like breathing comp and Active or Dynamic Stabilization either will not work or works only limited on non-Sony glass.

Are you getting an image quality from the FX3? If not the AF for video and photography can't be beat with the R3

The FX3 is a phenomenal camera. Lots of shots in the upcoming The Creator movie used the Sony FX3. The FX3 is also a Netflix approved camera.
How is the R3 in low light situations?
