I'm a Chinese viewer and saw your beautiful truck on the recommendation channel, that's so cool, decided to follow you! I'm looking forward to making more videos.
Installed mine today in my double cab tacoma. Some of it was a real bear, my fingers are sore but it's in now and it looks good so no complaints. Thanks for some of the tips.
@@gavinhaase3364 Traded in the Tacoma for a full size truck last fall, but the seats still looked good then. I do construction too, so they really held up well even to dirt and dust. Good wipe down and they were good to go.
I got mine in the mail a few months ago, and finally had a day off with nice weather, and nothing more important to do, so I installed them today. Thanks for the video! I did a 100% self install. I would recommend bribing a buddy with beer, because there were a few times another set of hands would help, and it probably would have saved me at least an hour. It took me about 3 1/2 hours without help.
@@gavinhaase3364 yes they do. They're great, and so far I've seen no issues with durability, and they haven't slipped or moved. They're worth every penny. They legit look like factory leather seats.
Its nice to finally have someone building out a 3rd gen access cab! I got my 2019 access cab and have been slowing making a video series on it. It's fefreshing to see another access cab build, keep it up!
Yes sir! I haven't seen any people making videos on the access cab model and I figure I have one, so I might as well do it. Love my AC bro and thank you for the kind words!!!
I was thinking the same thing once I got to the end of the video! I wanted a once over of the final fit and finish - would have completed the video IMO. Otherwise - great explanation of the install process.
Great detail and really did a great job. I ended up removing the front seats after watching, turned out great. Any tips for installing the back seat covers?
Good video , helped alot , took your advise on unbolting the seats for the under seat straps but found it easier to bolt the seats and remove the center console for putting the back rests on and I put the head rest covers on I put them back on the seats and slipped right on
Did you run them through the front bottom of the seat and try and paste them down on the velcro hooks on the back of the seat cover? If they don't reach, I'm not sure why. It should be as straight-forward as the video shows!
Thanks for the video, I ordered the Nappa Leather at about $999.00 I hope its the real deal leather I understand its going to take from between 6- 8 weeks. Thanks for sharing your video and tips.
I bought the Tomatoman covers 6 months ago. The bottom slides down every time I drive, and that friction has caused the foam backing to break down and expel a lot of white dust. So, I just ordered these in leather. I think I need to add a little blue Locktite to the seat bolts anyway since my driver's seat just started making a pop noise while turning. I heard bolts coming loose is a common problem, so while I'm in there, might as well, right? Thanks for the video man, I hope these work for the long-haul.
Are you able to slide a bit on these like real leather? I installed some amazon vinyl covers that look and fit great but you have no movement like leather. They actually made it harder for me to get out of the truck. Thinking of giving these a try.
Hello, i really like this covers but I'm not decided yet what to get, so can you please give me a description of what tipe of material you have on this cover that would help me a lot to make a decision thanks!!!
Thanks bro, subscribed! Love your build. Do you know if these covers are the Full Face Nappa Leather or are they the Perforated Leather? Debating on which to buy for my Tacoma.
Great video!! and also great tips. The only thing that was also interested in knowing was how to pass the 2 holes of the top of the seat cover through the head rest "mount" or how ever it's called. i've seen in other videos that cutting it with an X-Acto or utility knife will make it go through and if you don't cut it you might take a chance of ripping the seat cover. how did yo find was the best way? I hurts to think that i have to cut into the seat cover itself. Thanks!
Totally forgot to include that clip. Use the plastic wedge tool and start at one corner. Gently pull the fabric under and work your way around. As long as the seat has been in the sun, it'll be super easy to get everything over the plastic piece.
@@socalexpeditions ok i was thinking that or maybe the driverside was badly worn. I have had friends and customers do that and the cover rubbing on the original leather damaged it. Im curios about the covers you used. Leather or fake? And did you get them from china? I found a manufacturer there that sent me the link to your video. I didnt know if there covers were designed like yours or if you actually had their covers.
Just put mine on a week ago & I love them. My only issue is getting the seat heaters wired. I've always done my own wiring for the audio in every vehicle I've owned (as well as friends' cars), but the lack of instructions & wiring guides online is making it annoying. I'm also a little more hesitant since I'm leasing it & it's only 6 months old, so there's that as well lol. If anyone has a link that actually shows where to connect the wires, I'd be super grateful for a link!
Im curious about the covers you installed. Are they vinyl or leather? Or both? Im looking at buying some from a manufacturer in china and she sent this video to me.
@@socalexpeditions ive got an awesome distributor that will cutomize colors designs etc. My 2004 avalanche has the funky front seats where the seat belt comes out of the top side of the backrest . I got black and red calf skin for 200.00 for both seats the rear seat was a little less than that.
After having these on for a while, do you think these are a good substitute to the OEM leather? Or do you feel it’s better to spend the extra cash on the leather?
I would be satisfied with just these; they also offer the Clazzio's in real leather. They feel fake compared to the rear leather TRD Pro seats. The reason I think I might pick these over the leather seats is that the seat covers hold up better to wear IMO, and when it tears/splits at a seam, it can be replaced. Also the cloth seats will be kept pristine. I can't tell ya what to do, but I wouldn't spend the money on OEM leather.
Sorry brother this is just the way I make videos. I'm a truck guy, not a videographer haha! I ask my family members to film for me and appreciate them more than anything for their time, especially when my camera weighs 5.5lbs. It's very difficult to film with a tripod and move the camera on every shot, makes an hour job take 4-5 hours. As for ads, UA-cam does all the ad stuff, I just enable monetization. I'll definitely take your opinion into consideration for the next video (which will be shot on tripod actually, haha). Update: I did some research and apparently UA-cam is placing more ads in videos because of their "Ad Free Subscription." I just watched a 6 minute UA-cam video and had 3x 30 second long, non-skippable ads. Personally, I don't mind because I know that person put time into their video to make it and me watching the ad supports them, but that definitely is a lot of time spent watching advertisements on some Lawnmower 2.0 mens trimmer that I won't buy, lol!
Just did this yesterday, following your video. I can’t image the install without your advice. Thanks for taking the time to make this 👏
