These bikes are the most beautifull bikes , the 90's , FZR 1000 ,FZR 600 ,Fzr 400 , FZR250 , I recently bought a FZR600 from 1991 and i am rebuilding it now. I have had the 99 R1 and the 1991 FZR1000 and the 1987 FZR 1000 .
I had a 1992 FZR 600 in 1992. Compared to its competition it was an under-powered, dated, and uncomfortable bike. All the criticism was deserved. BUT it had fantastic brakes and turn-in feel. It also had a lower revving engine that made its power more accessible. My Speed Twin runs out of steam at 130mph in minecraft. It has 100hp and turns an 11.6 at 114mph in the quarter mile. My old FZR was faster. Maybe not quicker in real street riding but that FZR would do a 150mph indicated in minecraft. And it got their with much less drama. These really are special bikes and I am glad people are still interested in them 30 years later.
picking one of these up with a bad stator for $500. It also needs the carbs gone through. Should have myself a good running bike for about $800 after the problems get addressed.
mkIIIsupras I bought this bike 2 years ago and I was having a problem with it not charging the battery. Took it in and sure enough it wasn't the stator for me, it was some AC/DC regulator under the back seat. Was able to fix it for only 250 bucks.

Im almost finished getting my 89 fzr 400 with a 600 engine running. Got it as a big box of parts half of witch were knackered. Had to buy parts from ebay and Boonstra parts in the Netherlands.
The bike is running fine, mine sounded exactly the same when I ran it on the dyno. It had only a few thousand miles on the clock and was less than a year old at the time.
Dude, I have the 600r model 1994 (4jh), it is that one with the frame and engine, same as Tundercat ( yzf 600r). My question is this: I have a exup valv or not? How much horses has my bike at the weel?

Yea i had to fix the stator and genny on mine
Eric Kingery regulator is 10 bucks and about 2 -3 bolts to get to and 2 to take it off
My first FZR600 had valve guide problems . And smoked exactly the same as this bike back in 1991. With 5000 miles on the clock. 😬.

Had my 94 FZR on the Dyno, but it's been 20 years. I think it was high 70s or low 80s HP at the wheel.
