I had a '91, black with pink (and blue) stripes, and a '92, black (with thin pink stripe). Rode the '92 for years! Blast from the past for me (I'm now on a VFR 800)! Thanks for the memory lane, and the video. Awesome! :)
I bought a 91 new with the black/pink scheme while stationed in Norfolk Virginia. What an awesome bike!! Rode it all over the country!! Got the engine freshened in 1995 after having valve issues. Evidently a whole run of engines got the valve seats rough cut, but not finish cut, and the seats would sink. Sounds like a Monday or Friday thing at the factory LOL . I put about 96k miles on it before it was stolen in S Oregon in 1997.
My old '89 FZR600 used to sound like a superbike when pushing through the revs in the twisties - flickable and glorious sound. In the end, the power band was too narrow for everyday riding. Later models, especially the R6 were apparently better in that regard.
"the power band was too narrow for everyday riding" Can you explain what you meant by this? My BF just got himself this very bike and he's going to use it as an 'every day errand" bike, meaning, he's going to be doing every day riding.....
@@RavenLynne2010 Hi. I should have said that the FZR600 power band was too narrow *for me* . From memory, there was a step up in power at about 6500 revs, but max power was in a narrow band at about 8000 revs . In short, I owned a FZR600 for a few years and used it every day, but at the same time it's a narrow focused supersport 600. I then bought a bike with more low-down torque and less power up top. Hope that helps. Cheers.
I had a 400 from '83. Beautiful thing. Still miss her. But I think the guy needs to work on his gear changing technique. Lack of coordination like that makes for a jerky ride.
Still got mine bought new in Australia, 160,000klms now, still use her for the commute 2-3 days a week. I love her to death.
I bought a 92 fzr 600 brand new my senior year in h.s...had great times..i still have it sitting in my moms back yard..time to bust it out
Had the same exact bike back in 92. I’d love to find one now and buy it
