Destiny 2 - SHE RETURNS AS A GUARDIAN? Crow Is Already The New Hunter Vanguard

- This week's seasonal story brought with it sadness, but also many questions. When a character dies in the Destiny universe, our first thought is usually, can they be brought back to life as a Guardian? We pondered this with Cayde, Rasputin and many others. Today we do the same thing with our latest fallen hero. Alongside that, discuss the Hunter Vanguard and Crow’s change in emotion.

Thanks for watching! - Ігри
Today we further discuss this weeks seasonal story! Will the character whom sacrificed their own life return as a Guardian? Also we look at Crow's connections to his past life as Uldren and position as Hunter vanguard leader/agent. Enjoy!
“This just in, Bungie kills fan favorite and cayde’s best friend so that she can be brought back with zero memory of her past or cayde’s killer so that cayde’s killer, who died and lost his memory after being resurrected as well but regained all his memory, could bang her finally”
@@hardluckmk.52 it all makes sense now
Hey "puts on tinfoil hat" what if they killed off zavala and resurrect Amanda as the new titan vanguard
Amanda could never forgive Crow. If she's given new life as a guardian, they can start friendship anew.
Long shot. Amanda will be resurrected and become hunter vanguard
Not gonna lie... With Lance passing this last week, watching Zevala mourn at Amanda's ceremony was a kick in the feels.
I thought exactly the same and it got me crying
We lost lance and Amanda in a month we really did lose in this expansion.

Yep. 96 hours.
Amanda was such a underused character, but when she was used it was something big like helping us get on the dreadnaught. The moment she starts getting her own and deserved story, they kill her in the most meh way possible. Truly sad.
Also I really dislike that they most likely killed her just to fuel Crow's story, she deserved better but tbqh bringing her back as a guardian feels too forced 😭
Shame she’s staying dead and just gave her a little memorial….with how meaningless that is
Honestly. Crow here reminds me of us when he kills cayde. He’s going through what we did.
I still hate crow but can understand his pain
@@searburrito7456 as someone where people look and hear so much about because of my temper.. but try to be the best I can be.. I relate to crow. People look at me and they see the monster I turn into when I lose my temper.

@@searburrito7456 Dude it's been over 4 years, you gotta let Cayde go.
Vengeance...
Ahead of all: Traveler died, but lonely ghosts did not disappear anywhere. By the way, about the fact that the light has not disappeared anywhere: maybe it's the Traveler shard in the EDZ, from which we already once drew strength when Ghaul turned off the light.
The witness didn’t want to block out the light completely so I believe our light still comes from the traveler
traveler isn't dead.. we don't even know that for sure let alone what it even is. Secondly, ghosts are separate entities. The shard is different.. complicated not much to go on. The shard may have been drained when we took its light, and OR the shard is also connected to the traveler in some way. The shard has also proven it has no correlation to us. When we lost the light to Ghaul.. why didn't the shard provide the light.. Because it's disconnected from the host. Yet still connected in some way. I like the theories but it needs more viable explanation lol
Traveler is definitely not dead. Incapacitated maybe. For all we know, it isn't a living being. (A machine perhaps) with something or someone inside it that the witness is after (be free line that the witness said) whomever he is searching for, has correlation with the traveler. I can tell you right now that the light still exists because the traveler is still "alive" or that whatever is powering it is still alive.
Considering the triangle tattoo is made of light and dark. And the travaller leaked light while the tattoo was being carved we get light from the travallers wound
@@objectedwinter The traveler is "Dead" but the emphasis is that the kind of dead. The Traveler was killed by the power of the veil, which according to some lore bits suggests it's the power of death. The travelers body is fine, an the light it makes is also fine. The traveler as a "thinking being" is dead. It's something that happened on Europa when Bray was making the exos. One of the first "successful" exos told Clovis that he had "died" and his body was an empty vessel for the universe. Clovis took immense interest in this Exo as he said the Exo told him many secrets and uderstandings on how the universe worked. The Exo later simply ceased to function, despite being completely fine. My guess is that the veil mihgt have done the same to the traveler. The Traveler is now dead, but because it's body is still functioning as a vessel, it will continue to provide light until the body ceases to exist.
no this is just one of the logical fallacies of the game, the game has never implied that losing the traveler will make us lose the light.
ghaul used a light-disabler, explained further when a psion recreated the tech to try and kill zavala. when savathun took our traveler, all she was doing was helping us. the traveler wouldn’t have willingly shut off its light if it was sealed away in the throne world, as light has to exist to prevent the witness’s final shape. because of this fallacy the whole plot of witch queen makes 0 sense
Something in the Caiatl transmission to Missrax tickled me. The whole "Devotion inspires bravery. Bravery inspires sacrifice. Sacrifice leads to death." is always told from the angle that it is about a single individual, mostly. Current interpretation is that Hollyday's devotion to the cause inspired her bravery. Which lead to her sacrifice: her life, death.
But what about a bigger picture? Her devotion to the cause inspires others to bravery, which inspires acts of sacrifice and leading to death. You can get all poetic here that sacrifices and deaths are not always relegated to our heroes. Devoted people might at time need to be brave enough to sacrifice the lives of others for the cause. It could even be not a sacrifice of their own life but of their soul which leads to heinous acts costing the lives of others. Mantra sticks.
So it could be that Amanda's death is just one domino in a line of many.
There is also a circular nature to the mantra. Who in all history tend to inspire the most devotion? Martyrs. So the death of some inspires others to devotion and the circle begins again.
Personally, I think the whole point of “Lightfall” should be about us losing. I know that is more or less an excuse but, I’d rather we lose people PERMANENTLY rather than they die then get resurrected. Mara already said that, even if she was revived she wouldn’t BE Amanda. I’d rather not see that with a character we’ve known for so long. They did Crow’s story pretty good I’d say but I’d rather not go through that again. I think it hits harder if she stays dead. It adds weight to the story, the war were in. There needs to be some form of consequences in this universe. I think it would be a sort of cheap way to kill her, have everyone be sad, then just say “oh! Don’t worry everyone! She’s back!” Takes away from her sacrifice I’d say.
Yep. I think there may be a plan for us to lose more as well. From season to season. There has been a theory that LIGHTFALL was so light hearted in its narrative because this seasonal storyline was going to get very grim leading into nightfall. That would actually be far more interesting
I feel like Amanda's death didn't have much weight to it especially with her back story only really play into play last week just to have her killed off. To me it would have been more impact full if someone like mithrax would have died instead since it feels like we grew with them more then we did with Amanda in my opinion
I personally believe it would defeat the whole message you don't need to be a light bearer to be a Guardian, if Bungie were to resurrect her.
It's one of the main reasons I respect Amanda as a character.
I would agree and I think that was the original plan, but Lance. I think now one of the things that will be discussed is bringing Amanda back just before we loose Zevala. It gives us a new Titan Vanguard without having to "introduce" a new character or having to cast a new voice talent.
I would normally agree if it was done well, but this wasn’t, the whole death just felt unearned. The trend of revealing a character backstory and exploring then a bit more in depth just before killing them is a bad trope that needs to end. All it exists to do is elicit some cheap reaction from people and it’s the polar opposite of actual GOOD character writing and development. That, and the fact that Bungie opened up a whole plot thread about Amanda forgiving Crow as well as heavily teasing a romance between the two that never got seen to its logical conclusion. It’s almost necessary for them to bring her back because if they don’t, this has been an egregious mishandling of the story.
And Bungie needs to stop making Crow miserable. Let the boy have a win dammit
Crow channeling uldren and calling upon the guardian for aid is just sick I love the richness in that
I'm more emotionally in this, that I should. After Amanda passing away, I realized, that she was always there...bringing us guardians tanks, supporting us with heavy gunfire from the sky. Never the main character, but in in every fight - without fear and with blazing guns. Without a ghost - but always in the battle. As a Hunter, I still grieve with the loss of our vanguard and I don't wan't to accept another loss...hope she comes back Ana Bray style, also for the sake of Crow...the whole Zavala thing just made it more sad. As a german, I never hear the original voice of Lance Riddick, but when I read it, emoations kicked hard - it makes the fun of gaming oddly connect to the tragedy of real life.
The traveler….bring Amanda back….for us?
the traveler would rather revive our enemies than help us lmao
It brought uldren back, savathun back, it even revived nezerec…I’m half expecting ghaul to pop up
The only one of these that cant be explained is Uldren. But if you refer to the lore entries about Uldren at his core it makes more sense. Savathun was supposed to get the light in the first place and ultimately ended up trying to save it, which is why she got it. Nezarec was an accident. Either way, the traveler isnt bringing anyone back right now.
Nezarec was a accident and savathun was supposed to get the light trust me more than likely 90% of guradians probably didn't even deserve the light
Taniks will most likely come back as a guardian
FRRRRRR!!! the traveler sus asf
The traveler isn’t good and it isn’t evil. It gives power to those it thinks can be protectors of it, and it didn’t revive Nezarec. We did via plugging him in to what was basically the WiFi router for light
Im going to just say what Ive said before:
Bringing Amanda back would be a slap in the face. The reason we have characters like Amanda and Hawthorne is to remind us that regular people can fight the forces of darkness in spite of the fact that they only have one life to live. Reviving Amanda would only damage this message and prove that “only Guardians can effectively fight the darkness”. This is stuff that the writers set up in D2 year 1, but I don’t have too much doubt that the current writers will undermine this message in favor of doing whatever they want. They’ve done similar before.
funnily enough, Hawthorne and Amanda are considered guardians, though they arent lightbearers. "only guardians can effectively fight the darkness" includes them.
When taking back the city from the red legion, zavala directly calls Hawthorne a guardian.
I see it more as a “look at what you did without the Light. You earned this gift, now do something else great with it”
It is the ultimate act of bravery to risk your one and only life to save another, as a guardian it's a given that doing acts of bravery are an easy act because the possibility of death has been basically removed, there by making it an easier choice. If the risk of death is removed, as well as being healed completely so your not facing being crippled, or months and months of healing and rehabilitation.
I think I speak for most of us that we all saw it coming from a mile away
tbh nah after she survived the crash, I for sure thought she would get plot armor for a WHILE

Just imagine IF Amanda gets resurrected, but as a Titan. We know from the TWAB that Lance had been recording lines for future content, how far forward though, I can’t say or tell, but I think it would make a good storyline.
I wouldn't say he's becoming more like Uldren...I'd say he's just growing as a person.
Crow is Uldren. Crow is just different superficially. I don't think resurrection into a Guardian changes a person's core. Remember when Crow got Uldren's memories, he was pretty much realizing how alike he is to Uldren and did a lot of the same things as him.
I don't think the Traveler is dead because Guardians still have light...
We’re using Maras power, all Guardians are that’s why she has her arms outstretched on the farm.
mara is only helping us get in and out of that other dimension she isn't giving us our light powers
@@_The_Seeker_ no, thats just for breaching the facility.
The Traveler is not the source of the Light, more like a relay beacon for it. Since its shell is still intact, we still have the Light. That's my theory.
@@starlight_prince the ghosts said that they cant feel the traveler anymore, but the light is still there but "coming from somewhere deeper"
I don't know but..with the passing of Zavala's VA..if Amanda does get revivied..I could see big Z passing on the ceremonial torch to her if she comes back as a Titan..
On that note..she gives off Titan qualities, in my eyes, she was stalwart, brave, led with a pure heart and a big stick (chaperone).
Amanda looked up to all of the Vanguard leaders, she grew up with them. The girl knows how to hold down home. Almost makes an old Guardian like me cry, to see her gone.. almost.
Requiescat in pace, Holliday..and Lance Reddick, Requiescat in pace..
Amanda is going to become a guardian because the story made sure to point out that Amanda was upset that both her parents died and didn't come back as guardians. A good storyteller would make sure that was a hint towards Amanda being worthy of a ghost.
I’m hoping that instead of Amanda it’s her mother. It’s out there and I don’t think it’ll actually happen but it’ll definitely be a expectation subversion
I had this same thought. It would be interesting to bring a new guardian, and the emotional punch of hopping it's Amanda, but then finding out it's her mother, come back just after her sacrifice.
I really want Fynch to be Amanda's ghost, but I don't think that's possible.
No he’s got a hive companion
@エコー ghosts can outright refuse to rez and abandon their guardians.
@BlitzStorm I know they can refuse to rez their Guardian but abandoning them is new to me
@@BlitzStorm but they can’t get another one
@@nyalan8385 yes they can? Nowhere in lore was it stated they can't get another guardian. THEY choose.
The purpose Amanda would bring as a Guardian would be more to do with Crow and Mara than anything or anyone else. Mara looks into the eyes of what use to be her brother. If Crow now looks into the eyes of what use to be someone he loved, he could start to mend relations with Mara by understanding the pain she feels. By learning this, he could further understand what it means to be a Risen.
Another thing Amanda could bring as a Guardian is answering what the Light and The Traveler are. If Amanda is revived, there's a possibility that with The Traveler MIA, she could retain all her memories. If she does, we'd learn the reason behind the memory wipes, and maybe we'll even learn the reason FOR the memory wipes. If she doesn't have her memories, then of course all of this is moot.
Finally, her death serves as a repeat for Forsaken. Crow is now going through the very emotions we went through with Cayde. Will Uldren come back? Will we have to put him down again? Does Crow learn from Uldren and us and decide that killing Amanda's killer(s) isn't such a good idea?
There's alot that can happen revolving AROUND Amanda coming back, but nothing really revolving WITH Amanda. I think it'll happen regardless, Amanda was being built up heavily this season. That's not something you really do if you plan to kill them off the very next page or panel. You wait until issue #50 at least, so that way the impact really lands. When you kill someone off all of a sudden, it's usually because they aren't really dead, or they're going to be revived. They do this because they want to shock the reader or viewer, then shock them more when the person is later revived as a clone or villain or whatever. I seriously doubt Amanda is going to become the newest villain in Destiny, no way she's going to become the entity we have to kill after Final Shape. But, she's coming back. Maybe not this season, but eventually.
I think the death of Amanda might be to push out the old and bring in new characters for after the final shape
What would be the point of that? I mean do you know what the final shape means? It means the end and beginning, but for an end to happen, everyone and everyone must die!
Nah, she stays dead. Cant have any more straight white characters anymore

Wasn’t Ana Bray revived too? She somewhat remembers her name because she was revived with her name tag on her lab coat. But then again now that i think about it, that’s only one step of remembering who she was. Uldren remembers who he was because of Savathun and Savathun remembers who she was because we helped her remember.
Amanda also has a biography in the hangar.
That’s cause she actively sought out her past especially cause the bray family is such a important name. Also there where several documentaries about her and her work.
There's some lore about Niik, the Eliksni shipwright that worked with Amanda, where she says that she will keep Amanda's memory with House Light's Servitor. I think I see why they made that card now.
Ana doesn't technically remember who she was. When revived she had her 'Ana Bray' name badge on and the Bray family are obviously huge. Which made it easy for her to find out about her past life. But she doesn't have the memories.
@@danielebowman Well not all her memories. There was also Rasputin who she spent much of her time with which may have also entailed Ana telling Rasputin some parts of her life.
I’ve always wondered… if a guardian gets their ghost destroyed and dies, what’s stopping another ghost who doesn’t have a guardian to find and choose that same guardian to revive?

@Senator Armstrong my thoughts exactly, the last city may not like it, it may be the death (litterally and figuritively) of the vanguard as the last city loses trust. But I think we're rezzing her, and getting some information on the witness.
@@Ootek_Imorahonestly they’d be a interesting story especially considering the vanguard has been missing a leader for the hunters for years now also I didn’t feel like we got enough Savathun in Witch Queen and that there’s still things we don’t know about her and her.
We are absolutely doing that. It would be moronic for her to have just been a light bearer for the brief which queen campaign. Plus her ghost flew off somewhere. She protected us in the collapse, tried to shield the Traveller in her throneworld, she is a (not so secret)secret good guy, and I can't wait for her to come back and be like "told you so, idiot."
It would make sense for her to come back as a guardian, as it would give crow a front row seat to see and feel what happens when someone you know is reborn as one.
I think it makes a lot of sense plotwise to bring Amanda back, but not this season. It would be a good bridge to question the validity of whether or not to keep our pasts secret or let us learn from them. This time with a character that we all really want to get her memories back. Savathun would be a key in learning how to do it efficiently. And we likely need to bring Sav back to get to Titan again. Mara implied she could have deliberately made Uldren a guardian if she'd thought he wanted that. There seems to be at least two characters that know for a fact how to become guardians.
I would really like them to write Zavala into a blaze of glory death. Seems only fitting that maybe Amanda could become a Titan to use her “walls” to shield others, like Zavala did to her. Maybe it’s too poetic, maybe I’m reading too much into it.
Another day, another video. Love the content Evaze, keep it up.❤
Man I gotta love how your thumbnails for the last two seasonal missions gave enough context that I got spoiled for what happened, great job dude 🙄
If they do bring her back crow will probably want her to remember and he’ll help imaru get to Savathun in return for her memories.
Thats not a bad theory
>We get Amanda as a Guardian: :D
>She won't remember Cayde, Zavala, Ikora and us: :(
Why does no one remember Savathun foreshadowing this back in Chosen.
"You would make a fine Guardian,Miss Holliday" -Savathun as Osiris
Thanks Evaze for this, I wondered about this
Not saying I like this idea too much, but if she does get revived, I would like to see her be a Titan and after The Final Shape, whatever happens to Zavala and/or Ikora, maybe Amanada can be the Titan vanguard and if we meet someone that can take up the Warlock (or keep Ikora) then we could see the beginning of a new vanguard team
I'm guessing Bungie killed off Amanda because players rarely visited her as a tower vendor. She was just kinda taking up space, so they gave her a heroic send-off.
she was at least worth visiting for all the prime gaming rewards and stuff
It wasn't even heroic. It was just a trap they fell for
Thanks for the hard work!
Massive feels on this one ....I love your vids and I didn't even know she was gone......😢
The moment a buddy of mine and I heard Crow say that he knows we want vengeance, while I stand indifferent personally, both me and my both agreed that this felt too familiar goin back to Forsaken
Imma guess and instead of revenge it would involve savathun getting revived
If Amanda does become a guardian I think she'll be either a hunter or warlock, but I'm leaning more towards warlock with the story Crow was telling Devrim during the battlegrounds.
Nope I and putting my money on a Titan
nah im calling hunter, shes giving hunter vibes
Hunter vibes I think she will put on cayde cloak
She more a titan than warlovk
Amanda talks and walks like a crayon eater, dunno what you talking bout! She's basically a younger Commander Sloane and that accent fits an in your face punch first shoot with the chaperone second type.
Well also think back to the Red War, that big ol piece of the Traveler off in the distance at the Farm (that same one we got our light back from even though the Traveler itself was subdued at the time) IF she is brought back, thats probably where its going to happen and Crow cares for Amanda so much, I would wager he would take her body there. (He has connections to that spot to as Uldren)

IF Amanda gets a Ghost, revives, and becomes a Guardian, Crow will be responsible for Savathun's return.
Savathun with the power to restore memories will be way too enticing for Crow NOT to seek her out for that power to return Amanda back to her old self.
I don't like how Amanda died though, it should've been a last stand being completely surrounded or grabbed by a Tormentor and we fight to recover her from the enemy but it was too late. Going down fighting like Cayde-6, a person she idolized the most.
I will give props to Bungie for not dropping any Spoiler Alert Sidearms this season which is their "death flag" weapon.

Would be fun but unfortunately I don't think Finch can decouple himself from that Hive Knight.
In the lore Finch can hear the Hive Knight demanding for Finch to revive it which he refuses to do so.
Seems once a Ghost is bonded to a chosen Lightbearer they're stuck together unless the Lightbearer themselves are permanently destroyed with things like Weapons of Sorrow.
This was really good!
I get a feeling that Crow will start to slip from the Light. But when he's at the precipice of going back or not, there's an appearance. It's Amanda. But just like Ana, she has an idea of who she was before becoming a Guardian. She brings him back
Im betting raputin, rohan, and amanda are about to become guardians in the future. They all died devoted and brave as well as sacrificing themselves to protect others.
the idea of a cloud strider juiced guardian is wild.
Ngl, a cloudstrider guardian will be an unstoppable force.
Immortal and an unstoppable force.
Though it is possible for rasputin since his "son" felwinter was an exo of his creation with no human origin, I don't think Rohan can come back as a guardian because all that remained of him was a power core with no body after he blew up.
And noticed Amanda had a similar death to Rohan having a explosion happen and we just met Rohan we only knew him for like 3 missions so we have a really good chance of Rohan coming back and with Amanda in her story of going to the last city she talks about hoe her parents died and she thought they would get brought back to life as a guardian but they didn't so this time she might get that 2nd chance that her parents didn't get
Rohan is a fucking block in a museum rn I don’t think he’s coming back

I just keep thinking of the vanguard dare of Cayde 6’s and how it had to be crow… seems that is one piece of established knowledge that has been widely over looked
People keep bringing that up but it was literally just between Cayde and his friend, nothing to do deeper with the Hunter vanguard seat
Lance's passing could throw a wrench in all this. They likely retire his character or at least move him away from the lead vanguard. I wonder if this changes any future plots that were incoming. I don't want to see Zavala gone but he deserves an epic sendoff. Like the most epic of sendoffs like sacrificing himself to destroy a fleet of ships or something
Our ghost has been looking for us for a very long time. They didn't know what we looked like but they could feel it was us. If there's a ghost out there for Amanda, i'm sure it feels it's getting close to it's new guardian.
Still though, Amanda will still be dead just like Uldren is. Emotions will bubble to the surface that looks just like Amanda but her most cherished memories, relationships, and pains, passions and anything else that made Amanda "Amanda" will just be... gone. Maybe it'll be like Ana who revived her love for her work but...
Literally just should’ve had the guardian do it
"you'll get a new gun if you do"
I originally said it'd hit harder if we were in the room too, forced to watch a friend die knowing we'd get revived, but then I remembered I play titan and I'd just be questioning where tf my Ward of Dawn was if that was the case
Zavala… Poor guy is basically sitting there praying to the Traveler for her to be chosen as a Guardian.🥺💕
The only thing is, the witness do something with the travelers ghosts? Did they do something that just stopped new guardians of being produced? Or would she become a dark guardian? Like the witness messing with something that makes the ghosts and any new guardians work for him, would be a crazy moment, actually having to fight a guardian, let alone dead friend guardian
In the random dialogue from Jisu Colerando they mention an unpaired Ghost going around Neomuna so I don't imagine all ghosts not paired up with someone suddenly died. Hell, Micha 10 was mentioned being a shepard of sorts for Ghosts and protecting them. That said, it may be cheap to suddenly bring Amanda back to life or, if they do, try to make her into Amanda when she's someone else now.
It would be interesting for Amanda and Crow to hook up without their previous memories. Amanda couldn't get past Crow's past, which is understandable. Now there may be a way around that.
As long as theres ghosts. there's always a chance that our fallen companion can and will be ressurected. Devotion inspires bravery, bravery inspires sacrifice, and sacrifice leads to death.
I am in the "likely guardian resurrection camp." I think the narrative twist of Amanda coming back as a different person would put a new yet apropos twist on the complication in the relationship between her and crow.
Na the real question is which vanguard would she be my moneys on hunter cause she still has caydes cloak on her wall and cayde got it after andal died so it would be cool if she wore it next
I don't understand why people keep bring up her coming back as a Guardian.1) Does it look like the Traveler is in a position to give anyone a ghost right now 2) It ruins the dynamic of her sacrifice. What made her special was the fact she decided to fight even though being lightless take that away and the thing that made her work is gone. 3) This is supposed to be our 2nd collapse and you expect no permanent deaths. TBH right now people should be dropping like they're flies but they aren't. This forces Crow to finally make decisions to become the Guardian he wants to be or Uldron with a ghost. What is our character going to do since we will be taking revenge with Crow. IF we go a take revenge then she comes back then the actions crow and our Guardian take will be pointless and down played.
Yep. We should expect a lot of significant pain to lead us into the final shape. That is what makes more sense to me
Amanda needs to come back as a Guardian ( Hunter ) and wear Cayde’s cloak she had hanging in her workshop area.
Hearing the sadness in Mithrax's voice. You can tell he truly cares for the people he meets.
My theory is that Holliday will be brought back as a Guardian, but it will be alongside the return of Savathun, who will help us recover her memories using some form of Deepsight.
I feel like Bungie almost HAS to bring her back for a number of reasons.
1- Her death was FAR too telegraphed for it to be shocking and thus to carry and emotional weight.
2- They opened up a narrative between her and Crow about her forgiving him and a will-they, won’t-they romance that never got expanded on or brought to its logical conclusion.
3- Bungie has a boner for making Crow miserable. Throw my boy a bone and let him have a happy ending
4- This would more serve to round out Crow’s story than her own, and thus I feel it’s necessary to revive her for that.
5- Finally, the Titan vanguard needs a replacement. After the tragic passing of Lance, I don’t see Zavala being recast aside from someone to voice until his story is finished. I feel it would be more appropriate to kill Commander Zavala in some very heroic sacrifice, maybe even protecting a newly risen Holliday, to let the character rest with Lance. Nobody can replace Mr. Reddick as Zavala, and I think if Bungie is worth their salt they’ll avoid a recast and instead kill him off, which would leave room for a new Vanguard, potentially Holliday
Ok crow, if your the new vanguard, please, for the love of God, don't die, we need to keep a vanguard for at least a couple expansions.
Crow dying would be a great thing
crow fits as the hunter vanguard. killed the last one, lives the hunter lifestyle, and he has enough backstory now to where itd make sense, hopefully this amanda arc will conclude with a definite answer, not having a hunter vanguard going into the final shape seems weird to me.
Seems like he'd be a bad leader.
@Xerø If you read his lore tab hes not exactly one of the best leaders around Before he went to the black garden
@@Xerodm Actually, he's probably a good leader for the Hunters. They tend to be like cats and do what they want. If anything, the Hunters are probably thankful to Crow for taking up the burden of the Vanguard as none of them want it.
The thing is there are only so many ghosts, and plenty of them have switched sides so there have to be ghosts left who still believe in the travellers goals and that are willing to join the fight because at this point some of them probably don’t even want to
Zavala just repeating that mantra gave me chills
This is me and my clan theory: as no ghost getting produce any more, Crow will try to Savathun and have her create a Ghost for Amada
There are still Ghosts without Guardians. Don't need more created. On Neomuna, Jisu even says something about a ghost (Tokki? ) arriving and being the first of many possibly.
There are still ghosts. There are also still ghosts that still have not found their guardians.
All the ghosts were made after the first collapse, that's it. There are still ghosts around looking for guardians, a fuck ton of tem. Come on guys this is like basic lore.
I’d be cool with that cause we’d get savathun back.
All ghosts that exist have existed since the Traveler fell asleep during the first collapse. Savathun didn't make any new ghosts. The Traveler didn't make any new ghosts for the Lucent Brood. Every ghost that can exist does exist currently.
If she in the end is a guardian
She is definitely a titan
Amanda was all about going outside the city with her ship. She even arrived at the city as a child alone, literally what Hunters are all about. Titans are all about fortifying the city and defending it.
@@Soon22400 I can see Amanda as either a Titan or a Hunter. She fits both classes very well in my opinion.
Perhaps someone using the deepsight ability could start granting newly risen guardians their old memories! I thought if Mithrax died and came back it wouldn’t be worth it unless he remembered our friendship and past so maybe we could be the one we have the power
She could come back and they could spin a turn on it that since the traveler is technically unconscious at the moment they could bring her back with her memories intact since the traveller is the one that blocks those memories
What about Savathun ghost? Can that revive her? Or the one in Savathuns throne world Flynch.
They both already have a "Guardian" Fynch has the dead Knight he hovers over all the time, and Savathuns ghost has her obviously.
@@Soon22400 if I remember correctly that doesn’t really matter, ghosts can unlink from their guardians. I think it’s in one of Osiris’ lore books that says he came across a risen during the dark age that was a dreadful individual, he killed him, and sagira told the ghost to go find a better one.
Amanda could have become a guardian while alive like Shin Malphur. That she hasn’t I think speaks to her fate
Shin got rezzed as a baby so I'm not sure it's the same. But I think it would lessen her death if she comes back. Not that I would care, I'm a fan of Amanda as a character and I like her VA (Jack and OK K.O.)
@@Xerodm shin wasn’t rezzed as a baby? He inherited his ghost from the guy that originally owned The Last Word
@@augustleo8368 Except he *was* rezzed as a baby. This is stated directly by the person that wrote the lore tabs about Shin. He got rezzed and the ghost moved on. Jaren's ghost moved to Shin afterwards because he already had light, just didn't know about it or how to use it.
@@solacefeywolfe7724 that makes no sense, why would the ghost just move on?
@@augustleo8368 Because he was a baby? And I'm pretty certain that babies aren't the best at fighting things.
Her line “not yet” was the foreshadowing of her resurrection as a Guardian.
👀
I think we heard from Ikora that Ghosts said they still feel the light, even with the Traveler being absent.
If Crow is the new hunter vanguard, how soon do we get to kill him?
If she's brought back, I'll just be disappointed. I'm tired of us getting freebies like this. Death is never fucking permanent anymore. Keep her fucking dead, keep her as a reminder than Crow needs to step up as Vanguard, and keep her as a memory. She was never a leading character to begin with.
I agree, I liked Amanda, but I also don't know if I want her back, like Mara said, it wouldn't be Amanda anyway. Ghosts can't keep being a dragonball situation.
Maybe they can do something about restoring Amanda's memories with the darkness lol
There was a sound clip in neomuna I heard that a guardianless ghost was found searching for a potential partner and that the city counsel did not know how to classify ghosts as citizens
I don't think she's coming back as a guardian. it would lessen the impact of her death imo and plus, isn't the traveler basically dead and cant make any new ghosts to resurrect?
No her death has no impact it was so far outta left field
There’s still tons of ghost still looking remember
@@tubach1082 Not really it was expected. We are in the 2nd collapse I expect people to be dropping like flies especially people with no Ghost and seeing how the Traveler is in no position to give light seems very unlikely
@@TheWeezyfly yea but we can still be resurrected so that means ghost light can still bring back the dead that are ghostless
@@Ty-hq2in we already had the light and our Ghost found us before the events of Lightfall. The traveler is powerless at the moment
I felt when she passed they made it so they'd bring her back. Maybe bring her back with a vision of how to get the traveler back/defeat the witness, like when we got our own visions despite the traveler being disabled back in vanilla destiny 2 story.
Though I do expect her revival I Also feel like since the witness is inside the traveler, and the darkness is known to grant knowledge or remembrance, maybe if she gets revived she would be the first guardian to has her memories intact, either that or just normal revival or maybe a darkness infused revival?
I feel she should come back. Then her and crow get the peace at the end of it all they deserve. As for deaths zavala will have to go and that is realy sad. But if they need to get rid of some one maby nimbus? Hes just seeming like a cade replacement but its not working to well.
Please bring her back. This would be a huge missed opportunity.
Good video, nicely done!
I said this on another video. It's in the lore that there are a bunch of ghosts who gave up trying to find the one and have a little community space inside the wall. So they're definitely out there.
There are ghosts left looking for their partner, the news guy on Neomuna talked about ghosts flocking to Neomuna looking for their partner.
I truly Amanda was meant to die in lighfall original story in that scene at the beginning and that it is meant to be a permanent one too
I had a feeling Amanda holiday would return and crow would be the one to help her on her journey they both have that kinda chemistry
I think that Amanda might be brought back because if you remember a ghost can wonder around for centuries looking for their guardian. But if the travelers is still and not moving I would think that the ghost who are still searching would also lose their power but I have no idea
Back in season of the Splicer Savathun (disquised as Osiris) she said Amanda would make a great guardian.
Two possible stories from her coming back; 1 Crow coming to terms with this not being the same person he knew, kinda reversing the dynamic they've had for a while; 2 Queen Mara, not wanting Crow to go through what she did, replicates what Savathun did with him,. My personal theory is that Crow expected enough that he built a mental wall between him and Aldrin, where as Savathun didn't and that's why he's still Crow where she returned to her old self.
This hurt considering the death of Lance Reddick. 😢
Also, the Vanguard will cease by Final Shape. I doubt any of the current have replacement plans, but they have held the guardians back in so many ways. Just my 2 cents.
i dont think we will see her raised until the end of the expansion at the earliest, going off of Zavala's words i always thought new lights were off the table for the moment even for ghosts who have yet to find their partner. The mirroring of forsaken where we are stepping into the roll of Petra to Crow taking our place in the story of revenge is an interesting one, i wasnt playing during that expansion so didnt get the effect of Cayde's death the way that those that were playing but watching Amanda die I do want to avenge her. Maybe we will finally get to see the 15th wish if Crow goes full Uldren to get revenge.
Don’t forget last week or so there were banter communications between Amanda and Devrim about how they do what they do as non guardians, how it’s not fair, Devrim says at one point “ we don’t get to choose who gets the light”. Both were talking as if they were jealous of guardians. Plus if she can’t remember it won’t hold her back as much from Crow. Not to mention Crow was shown his past so he has an understanding of both sides of this coin and he loves her he would help her in her new life. Could be a story beat that crow fights to teach Amanda about her past since it made him the guardian he is today. There is a lot there to suggest Bungie would bring her back.
I thought each ghost had a specific person that the traveler wants to turn into a guardian? I thought there was dialogue that speaks about how the player’s ghost had been looking for them for a long time, as if they were meant to be a guardian.
It would be interesting if a Lucent Hive Ghost brought Amanda back.
Honestly IF Amanda came back then there should be a pretty big twist. If I was writing her return arc then I’d have her comeback with the darkness subclasses first, so she’d have Strand and Stasis. The reason for this would be the Witness’s effect on the Traveler. Sure Ghost’s are the ones to resurrect people to become Guardians, but the Ghosts are powered by the Light and the Light comes from the Traveler. So what if a Ghost that’s powered be both the Light and Darkness brings Amanda back? She wouldn’t immediately return to the Tower. I think she’d follow Osiris around to learn from him. She’d somehow get her memories back like Uldren did. Amanda would now understand what Uldren went through. But I feel she’d want to master her new abilities. So we’d see her fully return in The Final Shape.
That would be pretty sweet. Yo Bungie - what this guy said!! Make it so, number 1.
I’d argue that when crow says that he want to kill those who killed Amanda, he sounds like us.
Am I the only one struggling with the irony of crow being where we were when we hunted him down for Cayde?
It would be interesting to see how they proceed since Zavala's voice actor passed. They could retire Zavala and bring Amanda back as new Vanguard Titan. Generally Bungie doesn't take the easy path for these types of things though.
Development on games is done years in advance. In all likelihood they have plenty more material Fromm Lance already recorded. The seasonal content is prepped more than a year in advance
Im sure there are many ghost still looking for there guardian. Many of the ghost that went to the hive are ghost that gave up on finding a guardian on earth. Would be neat to have Finch do it.
Replaying Witch Queen today and Ikira did promise Fynch a place in the Vanguard when Savathon was dealt with... It seems to me that Bungie has made their plot pretty transparent. I'd be more surprised if Amanda didn't come back.
