Asher Mir was the kind of person who would say "it's pointless to do this" and then do it anyway because it makes no sense not to try. He had a lot of dialogue like that before. I'm pretty sure it's the same here. He acknowledges the Final Shape can't be stopped. Won't stop him from trying though.

@@raven-0621 dude that'd funny and possibly dangerous
Imagine if the end of the end of the light and dark saga is use losing or making our own final shape
Stubbornness is a trait of badasses
Dude tried shooting a Pyramid ship. Gotta respect it.
Asher Mir really said "im not locked in here with you, YOURE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME!"
Ok roshak 😂😂😂
I love the throwback to the metaphor.
For those newer Guardians who never had the honor of running the Pyramidion strike, Asher would go on and on about the lake where he and his fireteam first encountered Brakion and his arm was converted into a vex arm.
When we went into the strike we never found a lake so Ghost assumed it was a metaphor. That made Asher very annoyed
Remember whenever Ikora poked fun at his expense?
*Ikora:* _"Asher can’t figure out where you are. If he drops out, it’s because he’s thrown a tantrum and broken his microphone."_
*Asher:* _"I heard that, you wretch!"_
*Ikora:* _"Mmm. He feels safe saying such things because he is on Io, and I am not."_
*Ikora:* _"Asher’s studying data on your current position. I believe he’s said ‘impossible’ oh, 12 times and counting. I’ll patch him in."_
*Asher:* _"Impossible. Impossible… but could it? No no no, but that's impossible! Impossible! But why? Would could govern such an impossible discrepancy?"_
*Ikora:* _"We’re analyzing live data from your team and - brace yourself - I believe our Gensym Scribe is genuinely confounded."_
*Asher:* _"Inaccurate! I have never been confounded in my life."_
I lost it at Vuvuzela, that was honestly one of my favorite parts of Red War when Asher was trolling Zavala so hard, lol.
I loved that, feels like so long ago now. Back when I had incredibly high hopes that D2 would be worthy of calling itself a sequel. I also really like how even after being part of the network for so long and seeing all the configurations himself, he's extremely adamant about the pyramideon being a lake.
I came looking for this exact comment cause I also lost it and still call Zavala that’s to this day when talking about him with friends it’s burned in my brain

Mithrax: “the shores of a-a lake? My apologies, this-this must be a metaphor.”

@@vincentserrano4484 hey I have been thorugh dealing with Asher’s madness lmaoo
I think it would be a cool move to make Asher the leader of a new faction of Vex that are friendly to guardians/the alliance and we center a season on letting that develop.
Season of the Deep can have so many meanings. Whether it's us diving into the deep sea of water or the deep sea of information. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a digital world or worlds within the Vex radiolarian network.
@@zeraphphalanx2794 personal theory is that Season of the Deep has us return to Titan (it’s somehow come back, maybe). We follow up on a tip-off from Soteria (from the end of the Winterbite quest) that there lies an enemy of the Witness, and that its preservation is paramount.
Plus it also works that Titan is full of Hive as well. Perhaps Savathun will be rezzed as well at some point, perhaps being all like “well what did I tell you? You just HAD to ruin EVERYTHING”
@Twelved with bungie Now hiring a xivu arath voice actor this is key they got mithrax a voice actor a season before he was introduced formally anyway and *deep* is what the hive call the darkness and keep in mind at the end of the winterbite exotic quest we get confirmed that a *enemy of the witness is on titan* and we know titan was a hive infested planet so that and labeled under lightfall something I can't remember commander Sloane *titans world vender* was listed in there her voice actor was too and savathun did say that the witness used the same power used to move the traveler to her throne world maybe the witness finds out that xivu arath can't access were it put titan so it sends back titan and like when Mars reappeared we investigate titans reappearance and there we meet Sloane again🎉
@@dropkick3024 I’m curious to Sloan’s condition. Is she dead? A spirit? Nightmare? I think it would be an incredible feat if she managed to survive in a darkness infested Titan for that long. I honestly hope she is alive so we can get some context on what happens when the Witness takes a planet. We saw one unveiled in Witch Queen but nobody was on Mars to experience it. I hope we can hear her perspective of what happened.
@Alter keep in mind this a place the witness took savathun claims she took Mars and Sloane before the witness took titan she found a suit left by savathun to help her survive the pyramids so she could have been fighting for her life on titan for the past 2 years and with the fact that lance Reddick is dead and they more than likely aren't going to recast like how crow is taking over the hunter vanguard position Sloane with take over the titan vanguard position over zalvala more than likely dies in final shape and what I mean is that when savathun stole than returned mars it has those time scars on them
this lore tab doesn't entirely imply Asher's death though, it sounds more like he's allowed himself to full decompile into the rest of the Vex Network instead of resisting it. Doesn't mean there isn't a way to recompile him later on. Remember that the power of Darkness is regressive and based on something's memory. Vex fluid when exposed to Clarity Control responded to Darkness exposure.
I wouldnt be surprised if Asher becomes a vex mind with his own legion of vex that serve alongside us against the witness
YES THAT WOULD MAKE SO MUCH SENSE. We have Allies of every other race
Worst outcome. He becomes corrupted after the expansion
Would be dope if he was like a vex warlock or a guardian sized atheon
And BUILDS US THE MYTHOCLAST
If Asher can simulate paracausal objects, then that’s the one thing, the only thing that’ll give him true respect among the Vex.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they award him with a Brakion-styled body.
I love the "Not a Metaphor!" call back
Simulated Cave Access Code: 53-43-52-49-42-45
That is ASCII Hex code for "SCRIBE," Asher's designation according to the Vexcalibur's lore tab.
Meanwhile, the Access Gate Key on Vexcalibur, the one that allows the block to let you pass through, is 53-48-49-45-4C-44: "SHIELD"
The Override Node Key, the one that allows you to destroy the invulnerable nodes, is 53-57-4F-52-44: "SWORD"

I don't think he died upon unspooling himself. Not completely anyway. I think he did the same thing we did with Strand, he went with the flow. Maintaining himself amongst all that data would be nigh impossible, but if he were to become apart of it then perhaps he could learn to manipulate it from the inside. He's unspooled yes, but much like unspooled yarn you can always roll it back together.

I swear the weirdest things happen to warlocks, Pradyth gets erased from history, Toland becomes an orb, Asher becomes pure data in the vex network.

The Vanguard and their Guardians
Caiatl and her Blue Legion
Mythrax and the House of Light
Asher Mir and his friendly vex
Savathûn and her Lucent Brood
Eramis and the House of Salvation

My man Asher. My favorite guardian I hung out at IO the most of all the other planets it was beautiful
Plus his dialogue was entertaining. 😅
I thought it was hilarious when Asher called Mithrax a "anatomical region" (we all know what he called him)
Yep
@EVAZE1... you still owe me £3,000,000 from the Nigerian National Lottery.
Asher just pulled the my dad move from the vex network
he went to buy vex milk

Welp, so much for bringing Asher back this time around.
But I still have hope, he'll be back with some new Vex Collective by his side to help us out against the Witness.
I'm guessing season 22 or 23 will be a Season of the Veil, and both Asher and Io will be coming back. Same way that Titan is likely coming back next season.
@@JamesLovesGames118 If Io came back it was be awesome if the Whisper mission came back, too. Titan was great as well, kind of a mystery when we first landed there and tried not to get killed by those huge boxes sliding around on the deck!
Idk if anyone's played Shattered Throne recently but I was pretty surprised when it was Asher Mir giving dialogue instead of Toland
really?
I feel like this is a joke but i am curious
Riven would impersonate Asher in the dungeon every now & then.
This has been around for awhile
It's not new
I don't think he deleted himself, he was diving deeper and deeper into the Vex network and now he must be in an even deeper part of it, a place where even our guardian nor Mithrax can find him. Dude is now like a Vex god, he can do almost anything within the network and all the knowledge it has, and I'm pretty sure we'll see him again, perhaps leading his own Vex colective, one that will help us in the battle against the Witness (watching friendly Vex in the Tower, among the Cabal and Eliksni would be cool)
I kinda want Asher to become an entirely new Vex network. He just sets up a few "Neo Vex" structures on Earth, and then starts pumping out Vex units to fight for us.
I really like that idea.
The Ashirmir Network, the Vexguard, Code of Avalon, Radiolarian empowered weapons and armor.
Put those unused frames to good use and infuse them with radiolarian fluid of the Ashirmir Network.
VX-Fr 1 for example.
Vexor the Neo Mind
Perhaps Asher will fill the role of Rasputin in this way....? 🤔
I mean, it fits with the current model of one faction of a race is on our side and one is on The Witness’s side.
I honestly think that would be a really good season idea. Io comes back with new vex structures all over it, we go to investigate in the season's beginning to find out it's a whole asher-based vex network.
@@Nutsacula what better place to start than the Pyramidion itself.
Appreciate your content, Evaze. I know there are others that make well known lore videos, but I enjoy yours the most and always watch them first. Thank you for all your hard work.
The Final Shape was shown in Curse of Osiris, the final shape is what the Gardener was tired of getting and it's why it came up with the idea to enter the simulation way back in the first Destiny. It's a state of stillness in the Universe or basically zero point. No heat, no time only awaiting restart by the Gardener.
The Gardener wanted to see if it could affect this end which always arrived, you have to go back to Destiny 1 lore to see that the Gardener actually grew tired of the same outcome. It spent so much time which it never knew from such a standpoint it had forgotten it's original reason for what it was doing.
I'm sure Asher is no more, his corruption was at 25% and him stating that he will become the truth, sounds like a fanatic giving up on hearing anything that would take them away from the Nirvana they have realized.
Why does the Witness follow after the Traveler to bring the final shape? Does it believe that it cannot succeed or is it afraid it will succeed? If the end is inevitable, then there'd be no reason to give chase. It sounds very strange, but the Witness has witnesses the death of innumerable children of the Traveler, for it to say those lines before entering that portal sounds very weird. Many of those deaths were a direct result of the Witness'actions, so it's kind of full of crap to even say things of that nature. My thing is just who or what is the Witness, will we ever get a background story for this being? To me it makes little sense to speed up a forgone conclusion, so I'm willing to be the Witness understood that it's decisions might be wrong and to ensure it choice was right it has to destroy whatever the Traveler creates and force the final shape to occur.
I'm only confused by weird things like the Veil, like just where he hell did something like that come from and how did it end up on Neptune? The unanswered things that don't really make sense, but here's something interesting nearly all the statues in the Awoken lands look exactly like those statues seen on pyramid ship on the moon. The female figure covered in veil, what does this mean?
Strand is connected to all living things, a Darkness subclass but connected to life. Interesting but Darkness is a necessary part of the life cycle as it purpose up to hone things into is best form before it passes on. You reach perfecting for but a moment and rapidly decline.
The Guardians are the antithesis to the current order of the universe. Only thing now is there isn't a way to create infinite energy, although Clovis did mention they could create singularities, never mentioned infinite energy source. The only infinite source of life is the Traveler itself. Without it sooner or later the universe will run out of the force that sustains life or that which generates heat once that is lost, time has stopped rendering everything dead silence and hitting absolute zero.
I believe nezerac says something about the witch queen hiding the veil. Also, is it really not a good idea to make a prediction for paracausality within the vex network? I feel like that's a really bad idea 😂
the constant outcome of one particular pattern (now the vex) becoming the final shape in the gardener and winnower's little game was what caused the gardener to introduce paracausality and basically created the universe, right?
Since when did we know of the gardner and winnoners game in detail? Dont we just know vaguely about them, not anything truly concrete. All info came from 2 -3 yrs ago. Also r u saying the final shape is "It's a state of stillness in the Universe or basically zero point. No heat, no time only awaiting restart by the Gardener."
@@lonecalzone6901 In not certain the Vex are a pattern as they are a lifeform born in the Universe. Remember this same universe had come to an end innumerable times before. Based on what I can remember, it was never stated that they reset the universes matter state, I think it just builds upon whatever was left because once time flows again things will move and do like a universe does. It's hard to say, but in the Books of Sorrow, the Hive princesses used to go into the waters off their home to take what they could from scuttled ships which were technologically advanced. The Krill (Hive) only lived for 28 days their time, who knows how long a day in the fundament was, only knew that they felt it was short and wanted more. So if you think about it one of two things could be true, billions of years and civilizations had risen and fallen and their remnants are buried under the waters or this was from the previous universe life span. No idea as Bungie didn't clearly give out anything about those vessels.
Anyway the amount of time that passed since paracausal powers were introduced into the universe isn't known because we just doing have that information yet. Only thing we know is that the chase was already on before the Hive were ever a thing because Witch Queen laid it out that it was a plan to trick the Hive princesses into becoming slaves who will do anything to live longer. On Rhulks ship you learn even more and that Rhulk was there before this plan reached the turning point of getting the girls to go to the worm. The worms they had already tainted with darkness experiments. We don't have a clear picture as to why the worms were down there but it seems like they are imprisoned there due to their appetite, I highly doubt the Traveler did that it makes no sense as it's never done anything of the sort to life it created as far as we know. I think it's the life forms who view the Traveler favorably will do things in support of what they think the Traveler wishes. Sounds familiar huh, everyone chooses their God so to speak.
With that background, the Vex could simply be another life form who for lack of a better term evolved and then changed themselves into their current state. We know they are a life form because they can be Taken, which requires you have life in you for that to even work. So I highly doubt the Vex transcend the Universe, they don't understand paracausality so there's no way they'd survive life extinguishing effects of time ending.
Another thing about time, you notice that no one has been able to see what happens after the end. I think you need to be paracausal in nature to venture past that limit. Your entire being must be paracausal so that laws that govern the universe cannot stop you.
So we're not certain what exactly causes the simulation to always meet an end, but we can infer it must either be a will or rule. The Gardener even stated it had no idea who gave us our charge or how long they've been overseeing this Garden. They are in the dark about their own existence beyond taking care of this Universe. We don't even know how multiple times streams pan out, is that all contained in the same universe or another simulation which contains all the same pieces but choices are different. It's nuts when you start adding the variable of multiple time streams. Elsie jumping from one to the next and seeing the end in many of them, yet cannot see the end of this one, that's weird. We know she can't see what happens because she was surprised at Anna reactions to the truth and she didn't know how things would turn out when she directed the Guardian to Stasis. Lots of weird stuff, but that's what makes it intriguing to me.
The Vex seem to be one a one course direction to acquire all the knowledge in the universe or whatever. I don't think they want to end the Universe, but since they are machine and lack emotions, they'll destroy things to reach their goal, so it comes off as they are working for the Darkness. I used to think they were the simulation itself give wild, but Taken King changed my mind, they are part of living beings in the universe. It's wild and sorry for the long meandering post.
@@felixluna4184 basically this person just pulled a million things from the ass lmao
Asher is never really gone.
I'm convinced that if there was a gigachad of Destiny, Asher would be a strong candidate.
scoffed in the face of the impossibility of simulating darkness and light and just evades the vex without even trying
Asher coming back: "Assistant."
Red war guardians: "Asher Mir you son of a bitch." *Hand shake flexs with Asher. *
Please correct me if I am wrong. But Asher Mir despite being one with the Vex is still able to use his paracausality to perform simulations like he did with the Veil. But does that not also mean that through him there stands a possibility that the light can now be simulated by the Vex and if they were to capture him could they finally simulate paracausality themselves.
It is more complicated than that, yeah. Asher was able to maintain his consciousness in the Vex Network through a technicality (because of course he would do that lol), but he was flagged as an error and restricted to the Avalon Node.
More importantly, however, is that we get a better understanding of *why* paracausality is "unsimulatable" to the Vex in this mission. There are quite a few proper few Vex units that display odd, unpredictable behaviors that are also locked up in the node alongside Asher, and thats our key; the greater Vex Collective are afraid of unpredictability in of itself, and need to make reality and their simulations solvable and understandable at all times.
Basically, they can't handle something not making sense to them and their go to method is deletion, because that was their method back in the Flower Game (and they won using it, so why not?) The Veil being manually simulated by Asher shows that they technically have the capacity to simulate it, but it clashes with their core directive, and so instead of adapting like Sol Divisive, they delete and maintain the course.

This is coming to me as I write:
I believe The Final Shape is gonna be something metaphorical as opposed to solely physical. I believe it means strength through unity and brotherhood with our fellow alien neighbors as opposed to volatility from misunderstanding and fear, thus having the living being of the universe SHAPE the outcome of their reality. This makes me actually now question if there was any form of unity in the dark parallel universes, unlike how we are experiencing now, in-game.
Um, quite sure Final Shape is the reaping of all life to start anew. That's the witness only mission, to reap the weak. That's why hive were dominant in the witness trust because they did reaping of planets with their worm god powers. That's how Sav did do much behind the scenes to thwart the witness.

Asher Mir’s dissolution into the Vex network is probably closer to Jarvis-ing MCU Ultron to Vision himself
“…and the lake is NOT a metaphor!”
they captured asher's tone so well throughout the dialogue in this mission, it was really good lol
If he's studying the Final Shape and the Final Shape is the next DLC, then I bet his rescue will take place at the end of the final season before the Final Shape. Like Rasputin and Osiris connecting all the dots and leading us to Neomuna, Asher will be rescued right when we need him. I hope that means he will play a bigger role in the Final Shape. I've been wanting him to meet and interact with Osiris for some time now.
i imagine osiris saying some stupid bs about how hes the great sage and asher just giving him grief the whole rest of the story
That metaphor line is stuck in my head now that mithraks said it out loud
Given the design Asher Mir's replication of the Veil has, it very strongly backs up my theory of the Veil being a nexus or a centrepoint of the Light and the Dark.

@EVAZE1.. @sirglaivius3460
My guess is that the "Final Shape" is a literal infinite loop just like how the Veil is shaped with the Tree of Silver Wings on the other side of it.
It does kind of look like an infinity symbol.
The Veil symbolizes the end and the Tree of Silver Wings symbolizes the beginning. I like your idea.
Mithrax is now my favorite. Rich dialogue
I was waiting to see if something would bring about an alliance with the vex. We already have the Eliksni and the Cabal. I’m guessing there will be some huge alliance with a resurrected Savathun and the Hive, the Cabal, the Eliksni, and the Vex at the very end of all of this. Nothing to base that on. It just seems like the biggest and most epic thing they would do.
Aren't the vex pure evil compared to eliksni cabal hive
Yeah… I could see there being some part of the story where Asher gains control over them or something. Probably not, but I’m calling it now just in case hahaha
@@GUMrawr I believe so, however we've already seen some vex be friendly or even hacked like the Harpy Asher took control of. And now that Asher is going deep into the vex network, it could MAYBE bring the possibility that he will be able to mess with the network more and create a friendly vex faction of his own? That's just my quick thought though
Mithrax is just geeking out in these missions I like it lol
We definitely will see him in the future. I won't be surprise if he helps to defeat the witness in some kind of way.
@evaze you can also find Asher Mir on Neomuna, he's in Partition: Backdoor and he's behind some red vex Lazer beams.
Nice work on video
I still stan he is the rick sanchez from the destiny universe
I loved how Mithrax had to struggle with translating his words.
The Final Shape is the gameplay meta
When players find the meta, everyone starts to do the same thing, reducing gameplay variety; Bungie literally sunsets content in response to it. Bungie has always had a ludonarrative as far back as Marathon (with the trilogy ending as you becoming a god, symbolized by the unlocking of mod tools)
The way Asher is part of the vex network and is using the radiolaria reminds me a lot of LCL from Evangelion
some weeks ago i also met a friendly harpie in the nexus on europa i interacted with it and some plattforms spawned with vex that i gotta fight.when i walked there the next day again the harpie was away
Oh...Ah...Asher assures me that Bungie didn't have to pay his voice actor this entire expansion.
I wouldn't be surprised if asher becomes one with the vex and somehow takes control of the network to assist us in the final war or at least convinces them to assist us to go beyond the end of the final the shape.
I wonder if Asher’s research in simulating Light was what lead him to discover the existence of the veil? or at least how he came to his own conclusion.
I hope we see him play a major role in the final shape’s continuing story. Personally, I think he’s going to take full control of the vex. I hope he does.
I love it “who is vuvuzela” favorite line ever hahahahaha
I’m still waiting for us to put Failsafe into a robot body!!!!!!!
Well Ana now can use the exo frame since Rasputin is gone.
I hope he takes control of the vex and brings them to our side in the final shape
So...that simulation at the end...of what I'm assuming is The Vail. That's the Tree of Silver Wings. I'm heavily out of the lore loop because I didn't play last season or this DLC or anything, but that simulation was the Tree of Silver Wings.
He had the Will to survive in the. Vex network. I wouldn’t be surprise if there chance of him Gaining a better control of this new existence of his.
Didnt osiris in the curse of osiris expansion say the same about that one vex mind but we still killed it and prevented the future it wanted that was deemed "inevitable"
And here I thought we were done with Asher and his metaphorical lake!
Who would've thought that Asher was the true Chad in Destiny.
We alredy knew about the finaly shape for more then a year now. The Vex pattern was always the final shape, but with paracausal power introduce in the mix we now have multiple choice for who will be the final shape.
Made my cry a bit, I miss Asher and Sloane, Asher more specifically was a good friend
I think most people are misinterpreting Asher. When he says he will become the truth, I believe he has accepted that a final shape will arrive, but what that final shape looks like can vary, so he intends on trying to change it
"Who is vuvuzela" made me laugh the goodies laugh I've had in a while
Hearing Mithrax say “Vuvuzela” was hilarious 😂
The final shape kinda looks like an hourglass sideways.
What happens when an hourglass is sideways is..nothing.
Nothing moves. Everything is suspended.
Like at the event horizon in a black hole.
No because pain still exists it's forever then we already know the final shape is the end of everything from the hive
Breh he comes back as a Vex Warlord leading the Vex
I wonder if he deleted himself from the digital network and is in a physical body or if he just peaced put completely. If 25% of him was converted he could’ve modified his body with more vex parts like a vex leg or a second arm and be out on IO again
CHANGE DA WORLD.
MY FINAL MESSAGE.
GOODBYE.
Wait so could Asher simulate it because he was a guardian which is paracausal? Does this mean paracausal beings are the only ones that can simulate paracausality in the network?
Radio Laria mixed with the metal fluid from the Iron Wolves (forgot the name of that stuff) imagine what would happen...
At this point I feel we’re just going to combine powers with all races against the darkness and the veil enemies that will come from it
That vex goblin we save was Asher Mir
How do you even access these missions? I’m pretty new to light fall but I had thought I had done all the story stuff and that the queensguard stuff was the only extra story
Looking forward to a (friendly) Vex Cult in _Final Shape_ where each Goblin/Hobgoblin/Minotaur etc pulls one arm off out of worship to the Scribe Signal.
Ok is it me? Or did Asher's simulation of the veil look a lot like an eye with a flat surface like a vex optic instead of a human ball shape?
At the end of the video, "The Final Shape" doesn't even have a logo for it. It just goes to show how Bungie delayed it and doesn't seem to have anything, even the logo, finalized
Not really having a logo can spoil stuff
i am sure i am not the only one but everyone sees that the roots of the veil is the tree of silver wings right ?
Evaze you think he will bring an army of vex for the final shape to help defend the last city? Or you think it could be something else?
The great asher Mir. He has earned that title.
IRRELEVANT!!! IMPOSSIBLE!!!
i mean just like i predicted years ago, the radolaria is the final shape, much like the fanta in evangelion if anyone watched it, we literally have a lore card saying that the vex have been the final shape of countless flower games(hence uncountable eons, uncountable flower games)
Need to do this mission again this week. Anything I should know?
Okay what if during the final shape we recruit savathicc and her hive possibly the enemy of the witness from Titan. A huge battle goes on and our numbers begin to dwindle then BOOM an army of Asher Mir vex show up as back up
