I’ve said this before. I don’t have any tattoos, and probably won’t get any. But I really enjoy these videos, hearing your discipline and your aesthetic. I learn a lot about art. Keep going. Thanks.
Im addicted to tattoos, bad.... But i will not go up to my neck til i have no negative space to work with anymore. Im covered but i could use alot more big tats.
Maybe? It’s crazy to me that someone would leave it on long enough for it to blister up like that? Seems unlikely if you could wipe it off- you would definitely know something was up before it got that bad with Henna.
I love the tattoo shop as much as a good board game store, comic book shop, hole in the wall crazy old man gun shop. They all have a certain built in nostalgia
I have loads of raised scars on my arm and they used to be super gnarly and red and super raised. I got that tattooed over after like 8-9 years when they were no longer super red but still were (still are) raised. The artist was really familiar with tattooing over scars so I didnt have any problems as far as blowouts or difficult healing. But HOLY FUCK it hurt to get them tattooed. Some of them were so bad that my nerves were affected and it suuuucked to get them tattooed. So please make sure your scars are old enough where they dont change that much anymore to get them tattooed over and be prepared for a sucky session.
I have a piece with pointillism shading in it... it looks really neat! Bonus...it heals a lot faster than normal gray wash shading. Definitely a very specific skill though.

Instructors, be up with your expectations that way the student knows, how long, how much and what type of grunt work they are exchanging for your knowledge and expertise.

The reason people say something about the whole apprenticeship thing is because that would only happen in America. Everywhere else that would be considered illegal. If you work, you get paid. It's that simple. And apprenticeship means you get paid while you're learning on the job. If you're paying for an education, that means college or university, and considering that tattoo studios are not accredited schools or universities, they shouldn't be charging for education. Sorry but you work with skin, you should know that those aren’t “weird bubbles”, they are called blisters. And no, it isn’t infected “yet”, it’s inflamed - which os also a pretty neat thing to know the difference of, when you pierce people’s skin for money.
Also, kirk, you need to accept that the next generation of gods honest, truly talented tattooers arent going to be coming from shops. Theyre just not.(Some will, of course; im just being a bit hyperbolic) You need to make peace with the fact that non traditionally trained people are tattooers too, and some are even worth respecting. Sorry but you work with skin, you should know that those aren’t “weird bubbles”, they are called blisters. And no, it isn’t infected “yet”, it’s inflamed - which os also a pretty neat thing to know the difference of, when you pierce people’s skin for money.
First one was a bad reaction to sanaderm.
Probably not the right vid to eat to
Also, kirk, you need to accept that the next generation of gods honest, truly talented tattooers arent going to be coming from shops. Theyre just not.(Some will, of course; im just being a bit hyperbolic) You need to make peace with the fact that non traditionally trained people are tattooers too, and some are even worth respecting. Get with the times or get left behind 🤷
