  • Tony shares what he learned from our great Facebook community group about setting up our NT carburetor and clutch on your motorized bicycle properly the first time. Following these steps will help you understand how to adjust your throttle cable and idle adjustment screw to work together while giving you plenty of adjustments. Then he shows you how to properly connect your clutch lever to your engine's clutch arm. Let's Roll!

#BUILDITRIGHT I just want to let you know that this whole series is awesome! It's really helping me plan what I need to do to make the engine kit I have coming fit well on my cruiser, as well as all the things I might need to buy. Has answered so many questions in a small timeframe. Thank you Tony!

I was given a new motorized bicycle that the owner had never been able to start. The carburetor slide had been assembled upside down.(It is possible and the throttle will only open half way) Because of that, the bike sat in the garage for 6 years until it was discarded. I also found out that the rotor had lost magnetism. Score!

You ABSOLUTELY hit the nail on the head about the magneto leads being backwards!!! Brand new motor, just WOULD NOT start and I went through everything trying to diagnose it, turns out it was the leads being reversed! I have also noticed these motors are NOTORIOUS for the threads on the end of the crankshaft stripping at the drop of a hat to where the won't tighten back up,! I have TWO of these motors this has happened to, is there any OTHER ways to fix it besides rethreading it to the next size down or replacing the whole assembly?!? Thanks in advance! Be blessed.

I am watching this series because I bought the stage 4 kit from BB. It would have been nice to have an instructional video that only used the parts they sell in the kit. Make an additional upgrades video later. I like this guy and the way he explains it, but he used the stock carb and upgraded throttle and doesn't show how to use the other ones. Leaves me looking to other creators for needed content on their motor.

Well this guy seems to know what he's talking about, Wish he were the one from Bike Berry that I talked to when I got my first 2 kits. Whomever I spoke with gave me bad advise! I asked a simple question, How much torque for the head studs! I got back an e-mail stating 17 psi, Which I thought was a bit high but figured Bike Berry would know. Well it crushed my Head gasket, Brass one and caused a major air leek. As well as low compression. Got to say even though Bike Berry may sell these kits, Don't go thinking they know any more about your 2 stroke than anyone else does, Cause they really don't. Tony seems to have a clue, But he is still only one person there.

Gasbike carburetors' come Stock with a #70 Jet. Here in Michigan that's way to RICH.
    I got a Big power increase with a #65, #64 is next.
Zeda engine, for the Balanced Crank, High Compression Head, Tuned Pipe, Better Spark Plug. and finally the Main Carb Jets.
I tune as if I would for other 2 cycle small engines, chainsaw, weed trimmer, blower. It's all in the Air/Fuel Mix. A 2 cycle Engine will TELL you when it's running right, just Listen to it.
Finally, from a cold start, Warm the engine up COMPLETELY !
Then go and enjoy Your Run.

So this is the first video I've seen where are you took off the little notch and adjusted it according to how you mix your oil and gasoline I did not know that I've had my first bike for 3 months I got me a bbr tuning 80cc motor on it and now I'm going to adjust some things just like to demonstration you just gave to my store my bike about 2 or 3 days ago and these idiots buried it with trash bags wrapped all around it I guess they're going to leave it there for a while and then think somebody won't forget about it it happened at Walmart ended up finding out with some homeless people they have a camp I'll call him about 6:00 in the morning I walk down through there at a 410 pump in my hand slave and my friend Ivan had 9 mm we went down there and broke up a homeless junked out chop shop for bikes basically and I pulled out a hammer and I told the guy I said if I hear you stealing anymore bicycles from Walmart on one hand I'm breaking one finger and on the second hand I'm breaking two fingers therefore you won't be able to use your hands but you won't be completely useless now they call me in the bicycle gangster I even went back the next morning they are homeless sleeping in a tent I told him look I've been homeless I've done the whole tent thing I was addicted to opiates for almost 30 years I went back down there the next morning and carry them some breakfast cuz you never know when I might need one of them next time I bite it so they might not be dumb enough to push it across the street to where they're staying

I had to take off my air cleaner and just tighten the hell out of the screw. Because even double nutted the stupid thing comes loose and the vibration from the engine rattles the choke closed. Which kills the engine and sucks. I just choke my engine with my finger. Problem solved!

Ed here... Wow ! What a calm & clear.. View & explanation.. I've viewed your video's before... Excellent stuff.. Question for u... My carburetor is sitting at almost like you have yours... And yours seemed at 45 degrees higher than mine.. I understand yours is a show and tell.. Mine is new... Break in two 4 liters of gas.. Still running good.. But sounds bad.... Before i give it.. To my grandson so we can ride together... Suggestions tony... Can it run better with a level carburetor...

Great question Ed. As level as you can get it is most definitely the way to go. Of course many factors are involved like engine mounts etc.
This bike is hanging from the ceiling hoist at the moment so it’s definitely out of level compared to how it’ll sit on on the ground fully assembled.
Now, as for sounding bad. My black bike sounded bad for a few tanks a gas. Since yours is new I’d dial it in as best you can then ride it a lot to truly break it in. It should sound better and better.
