    Hacks to save time.
    1.Instead of taking the clutch covers of the engine, engage the clutch with the hand clutch lever provided and place one end of the chain into the engines sprocket and rotate with your finger the under side of the engines sprocket so that the chain rotates outward and chain comes out the other end.
    2. Hide the white wire off the CDI if you are not going to add any head lights to your bike. Coconnect the colors that match first and then connect wires that appear to be ground to the black one for example brown or green.
    then you guess right their is one wire left to connect I'll let you figure that one out.
    3. Allow enough elasticity on your fuel filter by placing decent amount fuel line hose to avoid any stretching and disconnecting the line and having to replace the hoses and spilling fuel.
    4. If your engine is new it will take some time to start make sure to open the fuel line and to open the carburetor. Gas tank opens to the right and carburator opens downward on the lever.

    I made the mistake of listening to people and watching videos about building a bike. They said never use rubber motor mounts. Big mistake as I had nothing but problems the whole time. Finally mounted it with them and it made all the difference in the world. Always always use rubber when mounting a 2 stroke.

    Compared to the instruction manual that came with my kit. This video is great. Thanks you saved me a lot of heartache and confusion. Here is a tip: When in installing the sprocket I measured the distance from the threaded shaft to the end of the teeth at 180 degrees segments. When measurements equal, this insures that the sprocket is centered.

    It's always good to take some old bike tire tube that's cut into strips and wrap them around where the tube of the bike where the engine touches the frame between the engine and the tube on front and back, it helps reduce vibration a fair bit and shake and it keeps the engine from digging into the metal of your bike tubing

    For those wondering, here are the fuel ratios (I think)
    Break in: 18:1(6oz oil per Gal)
    After Breakin : 24:1(5-6 oz Oil per Gal)

    • @wingerrrrrrrrr
      @wingerrrrrrrrr 4 роки тому +4

      18:1 should be 7.1 oz oil to a gallon.
      24:1 would be 5.3 oz.
      Too much oil leans out the fuel mixture since it's getting less gas and will run hotter, so more isn't better.

    I'm actually going to be buying a bike next month that a local here built in Canada Way Down East. And I'm pretty sure the whole shebang came from you. At least the motor and whatnot definitely did. So believe me when I say this, you have Canadian customers.
    Already have one that I'm working on a building and whatnot but I think it's still a good idea to have the backup. And I tend to trust it where a good chunk of it was built by you bikeberry then the rest of it was put together by a very experienced person. I'm good with the motors as I'm a certified small engine mechanic. However I'm still learning the rest of it which is all very much important. Like making sure your sprocket gets mounted correctly and true so the chain is within its parameters, things like that. And that's where your videos help a lot as well. Therefore I do trust anything that comes from you

    I built one in January 2020. I have probably ridden 200-300 miles since. I ran 16;1 fuel for 2-3 tank-fulls and then moved to 20:1. The engine likes the 20:1 mix and it doesn't smoke at all.
    It's important to check tightness of everything frequently. Head bolts need a little tweek every few rides.

    • @Dragnmastralex
      @Dragnmastralex 4 роки тому +1

      why not use thread tape or thread lock? you can even use double nuts to prevent loosening. and if your really brave use some JB weld behind the nuts on the thread after you tighten them for a permanent solution. Loctite 271 was made just for this.

    • @BjornHansen314
      @BjornHansen314 Рік тому

      no no no, don't use 20:1. using 20:1 will give the engine less power + your engine will have a huge carbon build up inside your cylinder and exhaust ( it will also cost more ). I suggest something like 30:1 watch some videos and find out. 😊

Starting up the motor jolts while it idles and when you gas it, it's at the same speed as it idles, but no jolts. I see the reviews on Amazon and the description. Some people said they weigh 200 and they are going 40mph. I weigh 140 and I'm going at a walking speed 😑.

    I agree with the comment about the tools used in this video but on the other hand compared to other videos I've seen this one is comprehensive and easy to understand. As I said in my last post this video saved me a lot of heartache. As far as the electrical there it's that much to it without getting into a technical explanation of how it all works. I personally just wanted to install the kit and get it running. So I would give this video an A minus which is still very good. Additionally FYI there is a lot of info on the internet on these motorized kits so spend some time and do some research before you get started.

    Of all the videos and info I've looked up considering these engines this is by far the absolute best there is. My bike is nothing like these new easier models lol. It's a fat butt Shwinn Stingray and I still got it mounted within an hour of watching this. Tho the electric wiring part could be a tad better in explanation as not all the engines come with those colors and it's rather easy for newbies to cross wires. Other than that absolutely awesome job on this 👍

    When I put my sprocket on the spokes I did it by taking the rear wheel off the bike, fitting the sprocket, plates, bolts, rubber ect loosely then refitting the wheel to the bike to do the alignment.I find if you attach something to the bike's rear frame near the sprocket (ideally a DTI gauge but lol I held the hammer against the frame) and rest it on the big sprocket so its just touching, then turning the wheel it will let you see how much the sprocket is out by and let you adjust it in both up and down and left and right directions until you have it done up right. The manual with mine said the tolerance is 1.5mm (but not in which direction?) which was easy enough to achieve.

    I got a gas powered kit from Bike Berry. I ordered the thick cushion motor mounts. This is an extra $15.00. The bolts sent in this Extra thing are too small a diameter. Other than that I give Bike Berry a Great Review. The gas tank has a small dent in it so I called their customer support and talked to Max. He treated me with kindness and respect. He asked for me to send him a photo of the dent. after 1 day I was contacted by them and they told me that they were very sorry that I ended up with a damaged part and they told me that they were going to send me a new 1. I got it in 2 days. I am happy I decided to trust these people. I know they care about me as a customer. I give them High marks. Too bad about those bolts. You will need to spend $2.00 for them. They are a 8 mm bolt with no head. Dont forget to get the nuts washers, and lock washers Dont forget to get Lock Tite. Also I must tell you I put this on a mountain bike with 10 or so gears. Just so you know it can defiantly be done. I will give them my continued business because they earned it when they showed me that they care about me getting a quality product.
