I just bought someone's attempt at building one hopeing to find videos half as clear as yours and found you. Everything explained clearly complete with personal tricks and tips. You've made my backyard mechanical abilities easily transferable to these neat little motors. Thank you. Bet I'm driving by the end of the day now 😁
Attention! This guy knows his stuff! One thing overlooked and most do miss on these carbs, is the actual needle length may differ from one carb to the next, Common issue is the little E clip wears out the needle where it seats, you may find you set it in the middle groove after a month of solid riding it has worn to the second groove, This is caused by the needle bottoming out to hard on the jet causing the spring to push against the clip slowly wearing it, About the only solution I came up with so far is swapping out to a gentler spring, A progressive spring I McGyver'd up by gently heating the first couple coils on a spring to relax it's tensile strength a bit. This allows a weaker pressure at closed throttle and gets stiffer as opening, it's a balance lol Yes I trashed a few getting it right or close enough I do not get wear anymore 😊 Cheers Mate for some great videos
I put together my first motorized bike recently and before I did anything I checked youtube for videos on how to build a motorbike Hughes videos are great he gives all the info. simple easy to understand and covers all the details I couldn't have done it without your help keep making those videos you da man thanks for all your help J.Cote SanDiego CA.
I got into the hobby in the first week of May '19. I built and sold six bikes that summer. Today is June 30, 2020. I have built and sold six more that put $2050 PROFIT in my pocket. (this season alone) I've done one consignment build. My bikes all run 28t sprockets. The last bike sold went 51mph. 26" Huffy middle weight beach cruiser. 28t. 26x1.75 Goodyear tires @40psi. Well greased wheel bearings and a Thruster F2 pipe. 16-1 a sip of 108 booster and STP 2cycle oil.
Where would you recomend I order an engine kit from ? I would like to keep it limited to around $ 180.00 or so but there are so many sellers now a days! I would prefer 8 M M studs and better engine bolts I know that!
Thank you for creating this content and teaching me something new it’s like having my father back unfortunately he passed away when I was a younger kid
I have this carb on my huasheng 49cc and I've had some trouble tuning it. its running the best so far with a 75 jet and the clip at the bottom of the needle. if i give it full throttle all at once it'll die unless I'm already going half throttle then it will sputter a bit then take off. you explained how the carb works like a pro. you just got a sub sir.
I have used these carburetors before and had float troubles and gas poring out. Now you have told us all how to fix the problems this is a great Video and your my online mechanic. Thank you so much for sharing. And saving me time and money! I have built 6 bikes and sold 2. Now I can start rebuilding my old carburetors!
Ratatacoon when you have a great teacher, you can learn anything at all with ease. All depends on the person teaching. That's key. And this guy is a fantastic teacher. He was born for this.
At some point you'll have more of a grasp on how long a year actually is, probably when you've had more breakfasts than your going to have. Way less than a million no doubt
I love watching your repair videos about carburetors and motors you're very informative I'm a newbie and you make things real easy thank you for being you
How much it can be assured that the fuel intake will do starting without the prime bulb to ease starting. Needs starting fluid spray into the carburetor all the time to start? Please explain clear this for me. Awaiting answer please. Good video you posted. Thanks.
I put expansion chamber, new head, and a different foam filter in, it was 4 stroking pretty bad, made one adjustement to the clip position and idle screw, runs fabulously now when warmed up. also running approx 35 to 1 synthetic blend 2 cycle oil
Tuning. To get the 80cc engine to run in 2 cycle mode. Changing Main Jet size. Most engines come with a #70 jet which in most cases is just to rich. Here in Mid Michigan I am at 774 ASL. A #65 was richer. What I have noticed is the #60 is the largest hole and the #80 the smallest. With the stock jet the rich setting gives a lot of torque but in 4 stroke, up to speed then I back off the throttle, the engine clears and starts to run in 2 cycle. Adding a bit of throttle the engine will produce a pop sound from the exhaust and will run rougher. Back off the throttle a tad the engine smooths out, gets quieter, and power comes up. I have tried several different sizes of jets. # 72 and # 74 are next on the list to try. My next thing to try is adding a "Walbro" carb so I can adjust the jets with a screwdriver. This is the carb that is found on chainsaws, weedeaters, backpack blowers and other 2 cycle engines, it has BOTH High and Low needle screws. I fly R/C airplanes and have a 3 CID 2 cycle engine running with a Walbro carb. This engine spins a 14 x 6 MAS prop. Fuel mix is 92 oct, with the Stehl Chainsaw engine oil. mixed to 40 - 1.This is my standard fuel mix for all my 2 cycle engines. I am running a "Zeda Firestorm", with tuned pipe, big heat sink high compression head, the big box type reed valve. This is a minor carb problem I'm working on. This seems to be one subject that all of the articles on the net concerning Gasbike engines just doesn't address. I don't know why but when I listen to a Gasbike engine run and it's running to 4 stroke just BOTHERS me .Smooth running high power 2cycle running strong, like in a chainsaw, is what these engines should sound like and running smooth. From here in Michigan KEITH
good video on NT slide valve carb. I've got one coming to replace the stock carb on my 49CC 4 stroke. I failed to rinse the junk out of the new gas tank , it clogged everything, there are passageways that can't be cleared without drilling out the brass welch plugs to get access to hidden jets and orifices. The stock carb was fine until the junk got into it, H124C carb. I tried carb cleaner, ultrasonic bath, compressed air, no dice. When the NT carb arrives I'm gonna drill the welch plugs out and see what the problem was.
Thanks for your video about NT carburetor. I installed one but just will not start. I saw the spark plug tester light did light up. The choke was closed. Just can not figure out where air leaks and why motor not fire up running. Frustrating and suggestions please. Can you know what other type of carburetor that is better than the NT carburetor that has primer bulb to ease starting.
The indepthness to your explanations are *Next-Level. I calculate tremendous success in your UA-cam career! Don't give up... You were born for this! PHENOMENAL demonstration and clear concise teachable moment. Great work my friend. Great work.
Awesome detailed explanation with visuals. My throttle handle doesn't seem to be springing back when I twist it. What would most likely cause that and will it be a big issue if left like that? Thanks.
Honestly this videos just completely amazing it just taught me how to rebuild carburetors so amazing man love your videos thanks for sharing your knowledge with us man & for free these bikes are so much fun haha
Thanks for the info on fully seating the carb on the intake manifold. The carb "seemed" to be fully seated because the carb was resting on the ridge of the manifold. It turns out I had to expand the carb flanges so they would go over the ridge in order to get a full seat. Now it runs great!
This is incredibly helpful, Thank you! I have learned so much from trial and error with these bikes. This video is really helpful. My bike is bogging at full throttle, at about 1/4 to 1/2 is where it goes the fastest. After watching your video, Its safe to assume it's probably the jet Right? Thanks again for this video. Looking forward to watching your others.
What's your mix ratio? Have you done a half throttle plug burn to see how it burns there? If it's black and nasty it's running way to rich and start by adjusting your mix slowly, Then go about changing jets, get your mix right first to your driving area, one thing I noticed not really talked about correctly is mix does play a factor in your tune before you start to jet, my mix tune for half throttle may be richer than what you need, or leaner depending on altitude, humidity, mix oil, and gas, . Always start out rich and ween your motor off the oil slowly and do a plug burn at half throttle to check it, black is rich, Brown is good but wee bit rich, White or pale grey, to lean get some oil in there fast lol. Personally I like mine just a tad on the browser side, gives life and longevity , once I get that I tune the jet and again I do plug burns at full throttle to check. Then adjust my jet accordingly. I sit with a 68 in my carbs. Oh a plug burn,, Hold throttle at point where you want to read the plug for 10 second count, then hit kill switch and shut motor down and release throttle at sametime. Shut fuel of and do not touch throttle again until you pull the plug and look at it. 👍
Mix ratio for oil to gas,, Richer mix more oil, good on break in lubes everything and runs engine cooler, can foul plug and cause 4stroking or firing on every other stroke Leaner mix less oil, after break in, more power, runs hotter, no foul plugs and no 4 stroking
I tried the so called "racing" carburetor for the stage 4 66cc 2stroke BBR TUNING I bought two Jets + and - from what they are setup with. I COULD NOT match the speed of the NT carburetor that was properly set up.
Hello thanks for all the help with all your videos , I have a bt100 100cc engine , do you think it will benefit from a bigger carb even though it is all stock (just baffle cut from exhaust) thank you
Probably not. A properly jetted stock carb would be best. Port cleanup, expansion chamber follwed by jetting to adjust for the changes. If you have a balanced crank and a reed along with advanced porting? then yes, a bigger carb would help
hey Boss I really appreciate the knowledge Is could not have gotten from point A without your visuals I swear it!! My question is Is it alright to slow the bike using the kill switch until I get a brake put on there Sir because it just feels wrong you know like I am really not suppose to slow down this way
Dont matter to me broke it in some last 2 days an took it in the mud today an ran into some bushes after getting wacked by a branch an just around a blind turn was crazy on the rocks
What happened to the Speed versión of the NT carburetor? You know, the one with the red plastic thing. I cant find it online in any web that ships to Europe. Is there any other NT high performamce carburetor for these bikes?
man i like your videos you dont pull punches or try to sugar coat things . i have two bikes both run the little antique carbs never had a issue with them . not even why i like your videos though its more of the first thing i said tell it like it is dont worry about hurting feelings and you dont make a full course meal out of a apple if you know what i mean . good stuff . i subbed and rang that bell .
Here is my GREAT way of solving the air leak issue.... wrap the manifold with a few layers of yellow plumber's tape, get the carb snugly on, ditch the stock clamp altogether and use a hose clamp from the hardware store, and get it decently tight and you won't be having any leaks there for sure! EDIT: The stock "hose" clamp is terrible. In my case, it didn't squeeze strong enough to keep the carb from flying OFF the manifold [this happening because when the piston goes down and closes the intake port, all the fuel and air coming through the manifold suddenly hits a wall, literally, and this causes tremendous back pressure, which blew my carb off].
Yeah dude. The crap "steel" screw they give you will start to buckle and eventually snap. I went with the same clamp but swapped the screw for a good steel Allen bolt. Works way better. But as to taping the tip there...I figured that was necessary. I'm shocked it's not in the instructions. I even went a step further putting oil resistant gasket sealer on the slot. It works great
@@gyromurphy Speaking of replacing the crap screw with a quality Allen one, that's actually a good tip for EVERY SCREW ON THE WHOLE KIT WHEREVER POSSIBLE. I just wanted to throw that out there for whoever is reading :D
Question. I am new to this hobby and just completed first build. It fired up and ran good. Now when I try to run it the back wheel won't spin when I engage the clutch to start it after pedaling. Almost like there is no spark to push the piston. Any ideas as to why it won't start
That carb reminds me of the twin S U carbs on a Datsun 240z from the early 1970’s, they too were side draft carbs, however they needed mineral oil to function correctly! Now my question is do you recommend any 4 stroke kits for a “work Bike” vs a neighborhood terror machine!
The Lifan 152 is a 97cc motor that runs good if you advance the timing a hair. Make your own "kit" amzn.to/2L23Uq8 And there's always the Huasheng 49cc - amzn.to/3b0Nb13
I'm a big fan in the basic carburetor. I purchased a bike from what I'd say was a crack head and everything was not working so I bought a brand new bbr stage 4 kit and put the high speed carburetor on it out the box and it doesn't respond or preform well due to one over sized jet and ZERO adjustability. This carb you can adjust the needle besides just bending thr float tab like on the high speed. This carburetor is much better suited for a new /normal rider. I'm going for an expansion chamber so I might have to adjust the clip in the float but the high speed doesn't have that option really, it's really poor and cost more. I only got it because the stage 4 kit compared to stage 1 was only $50 and that's the price of the cnc head alone so I got it but with some regret not putting the stock carburetor on first. I'm gonna swap them out on my next day off and see how much better the bike responds after some well needed fine adjustments. It'll go about 25 ish ( no speedo just guessing because I drive for Amazon so I go 25/30 mph ALOT) the bike currently struggles to get up to 30 because of exhaust but I can hear the engine slowly increase rmp
sorry. Just noticed your comment. a 65 or 67 will do. jet kits are hard to come by lately. You can fill w/ solder and drill out w/ a pin vise and micro drills
They are a nice, simple carburetor. Unfortunately, it didn't work very well for my BT80 Bullet Train. I sealed it flawlessly, made sure the float height was correct, tried numerous jet sizes and needle heights, and nothing gave me good response throughout the throttle range (would either 4 stroke like crazy at low throttle and run ok wide open, or run ok at low throttle and run too lean and bog out wide open). I ended up going with a diaphragm carb (Walbro) which is so much easier to dial in. 3 screws to adjust (idle, low circuit and high circuit), and you can dial in your bike perfectly through the throttle range and ensure you're never running too lean or too rich regardless of throttle position.
question for you: if Im at altitude (colorado) should I try to run it leaner by moving the needle clip lower so I get more air? I dont know shit about engines
i always go back to your video when i have a problem . question on the side of my carbertor it says bo fong what type jets .work with what i have. thank you.
so if im correct theres trash or some debris in the hole where the fuel go in for me, my bike when i started it yesterday i had to give it more throttle then usual because if i don’t the bike would pull back.
i just built a bike purchased from bikeberry it is a bbr tuning 2 stroke motor and i thought i had a nt carb i watched your video on the nt carb and ordered the 5mm jet set you recomended well i just discovered i have the bofeng carb and jets are not 5mm.please any information you can impart to my dumb ass on tuning and set up will be so helpfull.
Great informative info. I also have been working on small hondas and such for years and agree with everything you said. Plus nice vid. No wasted time or a bunch of ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Like SO many vids have. Thank you sir. I found your site from a welding flux core vid you did. Good day Sir.
These carburetors don't have an idle jet like a motorcycle carburetor does. I saw you say here's the jet that supplies the fuel and here is the idle jet what are you actually referring to?
You put a link for the Jets in here, but they do not have a 66 and you say all the way through the video on number 66 jet is the best for most, give us a link that includes a 66 jet, thanks
I just recently bought a bike with one of these motors already on it. It sat in a barn for about a year. I drained the fuel out of the tank and replaced the fuel lines and filter. It has a new spark plug as well. When I try to run it, it seems like it wants to bog down and it doesn't idle when I'm still. When I give it gas, it also wants to shut off. Would drilling holes in the air filter work along with adjusting the idler screw? Any tips are appreciated.
My Chinese motor never had this problem I live in Virginia and fallchurch no body has these here to help me I watch ur show they always help me, I live in a apartments I have a deck to work on but the gas nabors complain please help
Hugh iv'e seen this video and most that you have posted your simple and direct approch is refreshing, obviosly were alike in the I don't want to hear the bla, bla, bla, yakity smackity just the facks man just the facks and my real reason for being here today is to say you are a miracle worker how the f!! did you get that 4 stroke motor in that String Ray bike thats crazy it's like strapping a jet engine on a mosquito
I have been building these bikes about 5yrs but quit for 4yrs and am here on a re-train. I have/had 3 Phantom 85 and use these carbs.. I was getting 55mph+ out of my best build but someone stole it.😢 OK...the #66 jet I have not found yet !! It's not in the kits posted here ! Was alsontold by professionals #68 is the best but can't find it either😮
I'm about ready to rip my hair out trying to find a replacement E clip (circlip?) for my carb needle on a red "true speed carb". I tried Ace and the smallest they even had was 1/4". Lowes had 5/32" which was still too large, and Home Depot had down to 1/8" which is just barely too big. Going to try Harbor Freight as a last resort before ordering online. At the very least, what size should I be looking for? I don't have any calipers to measure with at the moment, unfortunately. If anyone in the community knows and could let me know, it'd be greatly appreciated!
I have a question about the carburetors. What would be the cause of my carburetor leaking from the idle screw? It's my 2nd carb that had this problem. I live in the city so bumps and potholes are a thing. Maintenance wise I just do basic stuff and these little motors last for hundreds of miles.
Thank you for the very informative videos 🙏🏼. Do the NT & high performance carburetors fit the same jets? The link for jets you provided no longer brings up the kits on ebay, nor amazon.
Adjusting the float so many times to stop it from pissing fuel everywhere, I rejetted a Dellorto and solved my problem. I suppose some applications vary.
my 80cc motorized bike was running great until it just bogged out on the way home from the gas station. I do not think it is an aelectical issue like the plug because i turned on the choke and it started but then shut off.
I am grateful for video but I dissamble my carburator an it is in perfect shape. Can you please tell me how manny percent of oil goes in two stroke engine. I will appreciate your answer
I've actually got a comment I was wondering if you could do a video on the shark head for the motorized bikes I have one but I can't seem to make it work right Is there any hints or tips I could do
what issue were you having? One can swap out the heads and go without any tuning. Of course a plug chop and adjust the jetting will get you best results.
No. The issue is the Main Jet. It is too rich. The Main Jet handles from 3/4 to full open throttle and they intentionally have it rich from the factory as the extra fuel helps lubricate and cool things off. Not so good for performance but they are mostly interested in keeping the engine running thru the warranty period. Removing the air filter helps lean it out some but still needs like a #66 jet
So it is ok to take the filter out and run my bike,I wish I could send you a picture of my bike, just got it a month ago,my pastor bought it for me,he got tired of me walking to work.
Thank God for natural teachers like Mr Hughes!
I just bought someone's attempt at building one hopeing to find videos half as clear as yours and found you. Everything explained clearly complete with personal tricks and tips. Glad I could help! Momma said they'd never find me handsome so at least let them find you handy boy !
Attention! This guy knows his stuff! One thing overlooked and most do miss on these carbs, is the actual needle length may differ from one carb to the next,
Common issue is the little E clip wears out the needle where it seats, you may find you set it in the middle groove after a month of solid riding it has worn to the second groove,
This is caused by the needle bottoming out to hard on the jet causing the spring to push against the clip slowly wearing it,
About the only solution I came up with so far is swapping out to a gentler spring, A progressive spring I McGyver'd up by gently heating the first couple coils on a spring to relax it's tensile strength a bit. This allows a weaker pressure at closed throttle and gets stiffer as opening, it's a balance lol
Yes I trashed a few getting it right or close enough I do not get wear anymore 😊
Cheers Mate for some great videos
Regarding springs, I haven't had to do it, but I think it'd be possible to jerry rig it with an ink pen's spring (the clicking pens, of course).

Thank you thank you thank you. I’ve been searching 1000’s of useless video. You have made an excellent video that is very easy to follow.👍👍
I've got to say... you have the best t-shirts around.
I have at least 100. never worry about a clean-ish shirt

👍
@@SandmanOG how does one adjust mix ratio?
what are you talking about, its no good if you aren't specific.
Mix ratio for oil to gas,,
Richer mix more oil, good on break in lubes everything and runs engine cooler, can foul plug and cause 4stroking or firing on every other stroke
Leaner mix less oil, after break in, more power, runs hotter, no foul plugs and no 4 stroking
Plenty 2stroke mix ratio charts out on web to look at I use Motul chart myself. 16:1 break in,, after 30:1
Andy Boosey u use 30:1 I only do 20:1
Thanks, I bought a racing carburetor and it sucked and was a waste of money as you said. I got the nt back and I'm gonna keep it
I learn new things everyday watching your video and stay safe and healthy 💯💯💕🛵ty for the
Thank you. take care
You you're awesome brother I love watching your videos you break it down so easy and even an idiot like myself can understand I appreciate you brother
I tried the so called "racing" carburetor for the stage 4 66cc 2stroke BBR TUNING I bought two Jets + and - from what they are setup with. I COULD NOT match the speed of the NT carburetor that was properly set up.
Your video it helped me a whole lot more than most videos did
HUGHES SIMPLY THE BEST. .WELL DONE
If you have a balanced crank and a reed along with advanced porting? then yes, a bigger carb would help
thank you for your help. Mission accomplished. Carburetor demystified.
hey Boss I really appreciate the knowledge Is could not have gotten from point A without your visuals I swear it!! My question is Is it alright to slow the bike using the kill switch until I get a brake put on there Sir because it just feels wrong you know like I am really not suppose to slow down this way
Engine needs lubrication and when you slow it that way you are restricting the fuel/oil mix. Never did it long term
I very much appreciate your love for sharing knowledge.
Thank you so much honestly your amazing at teaching love these videos hope they never stop haha thanks a lot man your amazing
Glad you like them!
Thanks! Right on
My penney's mo-ped had a carburetor that was very similar
Hi hues. Should I go with a chain or friction drive. For My first build? Stanton. Or triple 40 kit ? Or China girl 66? I'm thinking. Thank you bill
It works great
@@gyromurphy Gasket sealer is a nice touch!!!
@@gyromurphy Speaking of replacing the crap screw with a quality Allen one, that's actually a good tip for EVERY SCREW ON THE WHOLE KIT WHEREVER POSSIBLE. I just wanted to throw that out there for whoever is reading :D
your videos are the best on youtube for this kind of stuff
Why thank you. I try
Hey man I have a 80cc motor would this carby be good or would I need to get a different one
Question. I am new to this hobby and just completed first build. It fired up and ran good. Now when I try to run it the back wheel won't spin when I engage the clutch to start it after pedaling. Almost like there is no spark to push the piston. Any ideas as to why it won't start
Thanks so much, this video explained every functioning part of the carb, nOw I get it. Thanks.
Make your own "kit" amzn.to/2L23Uq8
And there's always the Huasheng 49cc - amzn.to/3b0Nb13
Looks like a great video unlike most of them
I'm a big fan in the basic carburetor.
Does the carb need to be level to work right
Great video of how the carburetor works, my bike is fouling plugs like crazy, is it a carburetor issue, thamks
What oil/fuel ratio? Too much oil can do that
Question? 7:04 you say jet 66 I cant find that jet set with a 66
THIS!! So confused! haha
sorry. Just noticed your comment. a 65 or 67 will do. jet kits are hard to come by lately. You can fill w/ solder and drill out w/ a pin vise and micro drills
@@HughesMotorized thank you
it is really true that the NT carburetor is the best carburetor for these 2 stroke motors
If you have an engine that has reed valve , balanced crank and stuffed case? NO.. But for most applications they are fine. My 2 cents
Walbro has a tried and true design.
Do you have a link to this carb?
question for you: if Im at altitude (colorado) should I try to run it leaner by moving the needle clip lower so I get more air? I dont know shit about engines
you mentioned 66 jet at sea level I'm at 7600 feet what's your recommendation
is the needle tapered? and is that what allows the increase/decrease of flow?
Does the carb need to be level to work right my bike will ldol ok but when I give it gas it dies and the carb is not level does it need to be level
i always go back to your video when i have a problem . question on the side of my carbertor it says bo fong what type jets .work with what i have. thank you.
If it looks the same as the carb in the video then 5mm jets. Other than that I can only guess
Would it still start if not having the throttle cable in right I put a new carberater on my 80cc
What kind of carb would you get for a engine that has a high compression head and a read valve? Thank yoy
so if im correct theres trash or some debris in the hole where the fuel go in for me, my bike when i started it yesterday i had to give it more throttle then usual because if i don’t the bike would pull back.
i just built a bike purchased from bikeberry it is a bbr tuning 2 stroke motor and i thought i had a nt carb i watched your video on the nt carb and ordered the 5mm jet set you recomended well i just discovered i have the bofeng carb and jets are not 5mm.please any information you can impart to my dumb ass on tuning and set up will be so helpfull.
These jets will work amzn.to/41OtNAs #affilliate
Very detailed video super helpful THANK YOU
Glad it was helpful!
good stuff...I learned all this my self wish I had u tube. when I was a kid good video
Glad it was helpful!
Carb is gummed up. Jet is clogged. Needs a GOOD CLEANING or buy a new carb
hey mr. texas what is the float drain screw washer made of (you know the red one)
It's made from a piecee of gasket material.
That tee shirt though! I love it man lol
I have to be careful as I have an extensive collection of offensive shirts
I have been building these bikes about 5yrs but quit for 4yrs and am here on a re-train. I have/had 3 Phantom 85 and use these carbs.. I was getting 55mph+ out of my best build but someone stole it.😢
OK...the #66 jet I have not found yet !! It's not in the kits posted here ! Was alsontold by professionals #68 is the best but can't find it either😮
a tiny washer before the jet screw goes in will allow the metering clip to be a little higher and still keep the mixture from being too lean
please disregard the above
I'm about ready to rip my hair out trying to find a replacement E clip (circlip?) for my carb needle on a red "true speed carb". I tried Ace and the smallest they even had was 1/4". Lowes had 5/32" which was still too large, and Home Depot had down to 1/8" which is just barely too big. Going to try Harbor Freight as a last resort before ordering online. At the very least, what size should I be looking for? I don't have any calipers to measure with at the moment, unfortunately. If anyone in the community knows and could let me know, it'd be greatly appreciated!
very good video you know what you talking about 👍
Thank you for the info, i will test
I have a oko pwk carb but it don't idle and bogs out the motor is upgraded with stuff u think might be clip it seems rich
I have a question about the carburetors. What would be the cause of my carburetor leaking from the idle screw? It's my 2nd carb that had this problem. I live in the city so bumps and potholes are a thing. Maintenance wise I just do basic stuff and these little motors last for hundreds of miles.
Carb bowl screws from the top , i think thats the best idea of all time ,
My seal broken and started leaking so I used RTV that is compatible with fuel and it work flawlessly and hadn’t have a leak since
Thank you for the very informative videos 🙏🏼.
Do the NT & high performance carburetors fit the same jets? The link for jets you provided no longer brings up the kits on ebay, nor amazon.
Yes
@@zombieee1542 Way too late. Lol, but thanks
What is standard size jet you suggest
For sea level? Stock engine? #66 jet
Great vid ! Thanks.
Adjusting the float so many times to stop it from pissing fuel everywhere, I rejetted a Dellorto and solved my problem. I suppose some applications vary.
Gotcha. Ya. Sometimes float issues can be a Pian in the you know what.
it ain't the float, its the needle or seat.
Well done. Good teacher.
Thank you! 😃
my 80cc motorized bike was running great until it just bogged out on the way home from the gas station. I do not think it is an aelectical issue like the plug because i turned on the choke and it started but then shut off.
I am grateful for video but I dissamble my carburator an it is in perfect shape. Can you please tell me how manny percent of oil goes in two stroke engine. I will appreciate your answer
3.2 oz to a gallon of fuel
what size Jets do you run on your bike's carburetors
5mm Jet Kit - ebay.us/SzGxMn
I've actually got a comment I was wondering if you could do a video on the shark head for the motorized bikes I have one but I can't seem to make it work right Is there any hints or tips I could do
what issue were you having? One can swap out the heads and go without any tuning. Of course a plug chop and adjust the jetting will get you best results.
@@HughesMotorized like did you grind the lip around the outside of the dome part of the head?
@@joshuamoon8442 No. No grinding
z sewing needle or common pin will work to clear the hole in the screw too
Hey do you know how to make a 80cc engine shoot flames by turning up the carburettor
By making it run stupidly lean. Don't do it.
Very informative thanks 😊 been helpful 🙏🏽
please mr. hughes that darn drain screw washer leaks kind of bad . where can i get a new washer for that screw?
It's a specialty item. Not sold separately. The treads of the screw will seal it. Get a new screw and metal washer from HW store
Very informative thanks
would a slightly hotter plug fix the 4 stroking issue?
Early culyer baby!!! Whoooooo!!!
He's the man, Errr Squid
So it is ok to take the filter out and run my bike,I wish I could send you a picture of my bike, just got it a month ago,my pastor bought it for me,he got tired of me walking to work.
Remove the filter and you'll be fine. I have someone in Las Vegas desert running fine without a filter.
