Just to clear things up here the N/T you showed in the video is a bofang carb it should say that on the side of it and those have 9mm jets so they are way harder to find. But the original N/T has 5mm jets just like the Hp carb, so they are easy to find on every other N/T just not yours because it came out only a year ago.

I'm switching to HP from NT now and checking video to see cable installation 🤠👍 I'm switching because the float sticks bad in my NT because I bent it up a little so it shuts gas flow off earlier in attempt to stop it from leaking around an older damaged gasket and it works but I figured for 14 dollars I would upgrade. But my NT worked perfectly even in below freezing temperatures I just had to choke it a little longer but they ok 💯 This is my 2nd build. I'm 52 and ride mine daily to work all year. 🤠💯

I really like the HP carburetor. I was afraid of it after listening to a certain popular UA-camr and l just have not had any problem with it except l learned to put the idle screw to where the slide is almost shut and that's it. Still running the original jet, not sure what size that is. I have about between 50 and 150 miles per week on it with most weeks being close to 100 getting 95-125mpg, depends on how the wind blows.

The only advantage of the HP carb is its slightly larger venturi (15mm vs 14mm). The NT carb has an adjustable needle for partial throttle tuning, but the HP has nothing. You can cut notches in the edge of the slide to lean it out, but that's about it. If you want a cheap carb that will actually increase performance, pick up a PZ19 or PZ20

pro carb tip.... NEVER ..EVER TURN IN THE IDLE SCREW WITHOUT OPENING THE THROTTLE FIRST! on a slide style carb you are diving that screw into the side of the slide!! it is not meant to open the slide.. the throttle cable is. ...it is meant to have the slide rest on it at a precise location. it will mash /damage the area on the slide where it is to rest on the tip of the screw.. it is a terrible example for new comers to see! always open the throttle a little..you will notice how much easier it is to turn the screw inward with out the slide being pushed down on it by its spring. turning the screw out is not as damaging ...but never inward.

@@mattmarshall1698 with a weaker slide spring it obviously will be easier to turn the screw it but I guarantee you there will be witness marks where the contact takes place..the wear will be proportionate to the times it's been done. Also letting the throttle snap back slams the slide against the end of that screw.. when precise adjustment becomes difficult or impossible it can be a symptom of that condition. It's not hard to understand.. just pull the slide and look at the mark! it's soft and will show contact I guarantee!

You're installing the cable incorrectly in the carburetor! We insert the cable from the other side, let the end go through the hole and pull cable vertically up. The cable should not be bent. It also appears that you are missing the small spring on the float needle.

Now is there a reason to do this? Because I have been starting it with the choke off. My bike won't start if the choke is on. I assume you have to keep peddling and be able to reach down there quick enough.

I don't like how the HP carb has a hole for the choke lever, that dirty air can just enter. I use these engines to do my delivery job, and I need the longevity, and don't want it sucking in literal garage or dirt kicked up from a construction site or leaf blower. I use a cotten pod filter for motorcycles, removed the choke lever, covered its hole, then spend about a minute preheating my engine with a hairdryer.

the SHA Dellorto has the auto disengage choke advantage and the clamp on air filter advantage over the NT and honestly for me these are the only advantages.
finding different jet sizes isnt important for either carb. a wire gauge drill bit set, some small solid core solder and a small propane torch to heat the jet enough to melt and bond the solder inside the jet so it can be redrilled to fine tune the needed jet size is all that is needed.. no need to be buying jets when its so easy to make the stock ket into what ever size you need it to be.
