- Here's an appearance I made on GB News, trying to help people cut the cost of owning a dog by introducing them to homemade meals.
In the UK, the numbers of abandoned dogs are growing to record highs are we see the cost of living increase.
I was a little nervous I must admit, first live TV event. I also cocked it up a little bit, dogs aren't obligate carnivores, they are facultative carnivores. I was speaking to someone about cats before the interview... classic. Damn cats!
For anyone trying to reduce the cost of owning a dog, start making your own food! I've got loads of free information on how to help you do so.

"what about rice" lol You held yourself well though 👏🏾Great piece 😎
He is so wonderful. (Hello from NY!!!) I am getting a golden doodle in the spring time and want to feed raw, but other videos I’ve watched are completely overwhelming!!! I was starting to think “I can’t do this!” Because I became afraid that I would be giving my dog such unbalanced meals that it would not benefit them in the long run. After listening to this guys videos, I’m actually having some hope! 😊
Puppy Love! Great title for you and your best girl on the news! Congratulations from the USA 🇺🇸
Awesome. Great appearance by you and Isla. Hopefully first of many to come on TV.
Congratulations mate. You made the news 👏
Cheers brother, getting there slowly but surely.
@@thedognutritionist just found you channel thanks for all you do
@@thedognutritionist i have a picky shitzu i start your recipes wish me luck
Why did "The Dog Nutritionist" say dogs are obligate carnivores? Dogs are not obligate carnivores. Dogs are half-way between carnivore and omnivore with up to 28 times the amylase activity of wolves and some breeds even having amylase in their saliva
I was thrown by that comment too. Cats are obligate carnivores; dogs are facultative carnivores.
Forcing food choices on pets ,is a obligate tendency of most vegans

The news reader said £2.50 for two or tree days food. A pack of mince beef plus chicken liver to make up a 1kg in this recipes is definitely more than £2.50. I made it just a few days ago????
Cam got reduced priced meat. It costs me £45 for 13 days worth of raw meals for 2 SBT dogs and that’s just meat and organs. The BARF supplement, oils are separate costing £63 that last for 2-2.5 months and I get a separate multi vitamin on subscription for £20 a month.
Dogs aren't obligate carnivores :(
You are amazing! My beloved Bosco AKA Bossy passed a few weeks ago at only 11 years old. I have a lil baby girl coming named Moxie, she's an Old Family Rednose Pitbull and I want to be the best mommy ever. I will start her on this recipe and get puppy supplements. You are so funny, classic, we all get stage fright:) Thanks for your contribution to this world!!
Thank you! Happy to have helped, I know Moxie will appreciate your efforts!
These dog places are a total scammer. And cost more than real human meat.
There's a lack of evidence relating to feeding your dog human meat.
WTF are you on about? “Dog places?”
If you have a small freezer like mine, what about canning? Would that work? As in preserving the food in jars (water bathing or presure canning safely) to make it shelf stable and meaning you can make a larger amount. I have been meaning to start canning for the first time for myself so maybe this is what people like me can do. I think i answered my own questions 😂
The food would probably need to be cooked if done this way.
Anyway thanks. You have a new subscriber. I will keep it simple until i gain confidence with this canning stuff.
Can you please review beta dry puppy food? My puppy is coming to me currently eating it and I’d like to know your opinions on it and what I should switch to. Thank you!
When you defrost the food from the freezer would you need to heat it again to avoid food poisoning or is it not necessary for dogs?
Not necessary, if it stinks and has clearly gone off then don't feed it. But if it doesn't smell, it's all good. Sprinkle with some herbs to reduce bacteria.
I just can’t fathom how to make fresh meals cost less then a months worth of high quality kibble
Watch more of my videos! You'll find out 😉
@@thedognutritionist I have mate, they are great and I’ve bought the recipe book but where I live is expensive, I’m going to have a look around this weekend but I can’t rely on the reduced sections at most of the places close to me
@@thedognutritionist Also please can you review AATU chicken?
Kibble has a lot of additives that they shouldn't have. Kibble made my dog overweight and was causing health issues. Ever since I started making it, she seemed a lot happier and not as lethargic. And it is cheaper if you do it right.
@@christaanderson2153explain how you can feed a 40kg Labrador cheaper then a bag of kibble?
