I have a Saturn Kaboat 396. I've owned it for 8 years and still have it. No leaks, no problems, Nada. All good. Color grey. A good buy for the money if you take care of it. I've had it in the Carribean waters.
Thats awesome to know. Only had this one for 3 months and im loving it. No complains so far. The kaboat reviews are great. Will make a video of the kaboat soon.
Awesome reviews! I am considering your exact set for my travel trailer setup. My concern is with transporting the motor. Are there any special considerations with the oil and fuel and any orientation preferences? Thanks for the information.
Cool, yes i transport mine on its left side. Its the designated side. You have to drain the fuel out of the motor before laying in down. Easy to do has a drain line just turn a screw. the engine oil no problem.
I have the exact same one with 9.9 4stroke Parsun outboard. Take my wife two kids and dog on broad water on Gold Coast in Qld Australia and goes great. Even took it offshore trolling and got a nice spotted mackerel.
@@heerden2 i know,, you have to put the rod holders in a 45’ angle and as close to the tubes as possible. I got them on ebay. They called stainless steel slide mount rod holders. Can find them on other sites too. www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pack-Stainless-Steel-Boat-Fishing-Rod-Holder-Slide-Mount-Removable-Deck-Mount-/174201664745?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
I've been considering this set up myself with an even larger HP engine, as I'd eventually like to go to a jet. I've been considering the Suzuki 20 hp, which actually weighs about the same as the 9.9. I noticed the boat seems to be porpoising a lot. Have you tried trimming the motor? I've heard some guys also experimenting with plywood floors to keep the boat more rigid. The aluminum floor boats don't seem to have quite the issue the smaller Kaboat's do. They sure are narrow!
The suzuki 9.9 and the 20 are the same engine. I could convert easy but im happy with the 9.9 as is is fast enough. I havent tried trimming it higher, have it on the lowest setting and plains flat if you porpoise try triming down a bit
I just purchased a 16' Kaboat and 20 HP Suzuki outboard motor. I didn't go the jet route though. I'm currently waiting on deliver and plan to put a frame on it to help stiffen it up and take some stress off the transom. I hope to post a video.
It depends how you trim the motor and the boat load if y dont do it right. Like if i put all the weight on the back for example. Load evenly and motor trimmed right i run 21 mph and steaight and stable like and arrow
Thanks. I actually went wider instead. FB365 and aluminum floor. Installing a jet outboard on it. Not as portable, but I have trailer, so not an issue for me. I really could not lift a 9.9 anyway with kaboat, so I think good choice for me.
Hi thank you for the info but i got one nore question to ask what are the measurement of that kboat fold it in bag lol i know i know im pain in the.....
That's why I sold my 12" aluminum boat to get this... but my was 13" not 15" like your... it's come next week...I don't know how it's perform ... but the kaboat look very good.. my was sk385xl model... and I pair with 6hp.. it's ok on my local lakes👍👍👍😀
It looks like you might need to trim that motor in a little bit. Or maybe move some more weight to the front. Plowing and bouncing a little. Good video though, Thank you

@@laingej tengo un suzuki df20as podemos probarla en tu 396
@@javixxxx ese 9.9hp ya lo converti en un df20 ;)
looks like a very fun rig. Tight lines!
Pretty good considering the weight. If you had that on a 14 foot alumacraft it would fly
I have it on a 14 ft. Alumacraft....and it doesn't plane.

Nice! I wish i lived near the sea. Its a 4 hour drive for me but one day ill take it to saltwater. They are great boats i have no complains
did you go thru the Gold coast sea way to the ocean? that sea way gets so rough. 😮
@@alex8449 yes, was a nice day, so no issue.
@@laingej Where did you get the rodholders on the transom, as all the ones I could find would restrict the outboard's turning radius

I have seen a review reporting that the Kaboat becomes unstable when under power. How are you finding it? Thanks

How do you like the size of the boat? I was considering smaller 13', but not sure it would perform as well or not. $200 cheaper as well.
Go with the 15 u wont regret it ithink the 13 wouldve been to small for me.

Folded up is a big burrito 33 inches high . with diameter of 20 inches
Is it ok if u stand n cast lure?
Is it ok for choppy water.? ✌😁
Yes watch my other videos standing and casting on my last video
what pressures are you running in the tubes and floor?
8 psi on the floor and 3.6 psi on the tubes. 10 psi on the floor is better but 8 gives me more comfort
@@laingej 8psi I think is lot
@@javixxxx 10psi is the spec but i like it a bit softer 8psi

The 13” with a 6hp is a good match maybe do around 16mph
that motor weights like 120lbs, how are you loading into your truck solo?
Tell me u are joking

I had tha cooler way upfront too . But this kaboat bounces no matter what lol only thing i dont like about flat bottom but its stable
make sure you wear the kill cord bud, as it will cut the engine if you go overboard
How much for the motor?
2300-3000 depending on the model
What fishfinder is that?
This is the garmin striker 4 👍
@@laingej thanks
You got it👍
Leave the hydrol foil on all the time.
