You didn't clean the old glue residue like you said. You put the new on top of the old glue. ????

Came here to see how to clean the glue off but you skipped that and how long do you leave it sit to dry?

You can use a cleaner and nylon brush to clean the old glue out of the channel before replacing it. One the new gasket is installed it is recommended to let is sit for 24 hrs to make sure it has time to cure.
